対して”New 4stroke”はポペットバルブの代わりに完全に連結したピストンを”ピストンバルブ”とし「デスモ(desmo)」（語源は、ギリシャ語で管理や支配を意味する）になっている。
画像で”New 4stroke”エンジンを見る限りでは実用的なエアクリーナーやサイレンサーはないので、240ps/10.000rpmのパワーはグロス表示のレーシング仕様のようだと思っているが、エンジンキャパシティは依然としてよく分からないものの、エンジン自体はコンパクトに見える。
