いつもの詩のパーティのことですよ！
次は「太陽」でやります？
「犬」です？ それとも「三樽」です？
またワインで心を
気高く解き放ちたいんです、 乱れすぎない程度に！
いつもあなたの詩がいちばんでしたよ！
食事やワインなんかより！

ベンさん！
生き返ってください！
天から送ってください、
あなたの知性あふれる詩を！
教えてください、
どうやって育てればいいんです？
あなたが遺してくれた詩の種のことですよ！
あなたがくれた大事な蓄えが
尽きてしまったら、知性きらめく
詩がこの世から消えてしまいます！

Say how, or when
Shall we thy guests,
Meet at those lyric feasts
Made at the Sun,
The Dog, the Triple Tun?
Where we such clusters had,
As made us nobly wild, not mad;
And yet each verse of thine
Out-did the meat, out-did the frolic wine.

My Ben!
Or come again,
Or send to us
Thy wit's great overplus;
But teach us yet
Wisely to husband it,
Lest we that talent spend:
And having once brought to an end
That precious stock; the store
Of such a wit the world should have no more.
