キジやヤマウズラ、ヒバリが
君の家にやって来た、まるでノアの方舟に向かうかのように。
牛もみずから帰ってきた、
子羊とともに、殺されに。
そう、あらゆる獣が、君の家に
身を捧げにやって来た。
魚の群れもずいぶん楽しそうだった、
小川よりも皿のなかで泳いでいるほうが。
水と大地と空がいっしょになって、
君の家に貢物を用意した。

The Pheasant, Partiridge, and the Larke,
Flew to thy house, as to the Arke.
The willing Oxe, of himselfe came
Home to the slaughter, with the Lambe,
And every beast did thither bring
Himselfe, to be an offering.
The scalie herd, more pleasure tooke,
Bath'din thy dish, then in the brooke.
Water, Earth, Ayre, did all conspire,
To pay their tributes to thy site. . . .
