閉じこめられた者たちよ、楽しく歌え！
自由の身でも、心配があれば、手かせ足かせがあるのと変わらない。
とらえられていても、楽しければ、自由の身と変わらない。
鎖を二重にしたいか？
でなきゃ、なぜそう悲しむ？

腕の翼がもがれているとき、
悲しみは、さらに心に手錠をかける。

II.
だから、囚人たちよ、懲りてはダメだ。
強くて、深くて、古いワインを飲め。
頭をワインの牢屋に入れてしまえ。
浮かれた気分と、
のどが自由なら－－

手かせ足かせ、痛みのなかで、勝ち誇れ、
そして鎖の音楽にあわせて踊れ。
