東京新聞の朝刊だったか夕刊だったか何曜日だったか忘れたけど、そもそも読んだことないけど、平原綾香って人がクラシック音楽を紹介する記事を連載している。
いつからそんなに偉くなったんだ！？
ってか、ウィキペディアを見ても、クラシックをカバーしたデビュー曲が大ヒット、それをはじめドラマやＣＭとのタイアップ、他アーティストとのコラボ企画が異常に目立つ。ご本人の内より湧き出る音楽性なんていうのは、そういう「ザ・マスコミ／芸能界」的ありかたに隠れてしまい、あるのかないのか定かでないが、クラシックやジャズに頼るってことは、おそらく（作曲などの才能は）ないのだろう。
しばしば、海外では仕事に人を付ける「ジョブ型雇用（職務給）」であるのに対し、わが国では人に仕事を付ける「メンバーシップ型雇用（職能給）」であることが、特に出産でキャリアを中断せざるをえない女性に不利にはたらき、晩婚化や少子化を招いてきたと指摘されるが、いったん名前が売れてしまえば、あちこちのお座敷から声が掛かって、空疎な内容を上から垂れ流せるマスコミ／芸能界はメンバーシップ型雇用の最たる悪弊だなと。
まあ、私も高卒で役人インフラ企業に勤めて、同僚にストーカー行為をはたらいて（それも2度にわたって）もクビにならないくらい、メンバーシップで守られてた身なんですけど、文化人やアーティストがそんな次元では困るんだよ。
実際、米国で5万枚の小ヒットを生んだ一発屋の方が、わが国で10万人程度から継続的に支持されているアーティストより、はるかに潜在能力は高い。比べることさえおこがましい。
名前が売れれば官僚的に食っていかれる国とは、競争の激しさが違う。聞く側も層が厚く、よい音楽は必ず見つけ出すし、つまらない音楽には容赦ない。
米英の7digitalで買えなくなって、痛感した。ダウンロードで買う曲数が激減。新本屋に入ると糞みたいな本ばかり平積みになっていて気分がサガるのと同様、市場や媒体そのものが劣化・腐敗していると、財布の紐が固くなり、よい曲を探そうという意欲まで萎えてしまうのだ。
米ユニバーサル系のベスト盤のシリーズ、20TH CENTURY MASTERSは、10～12曲収録の廉価版で、キャプテン＆テニール、スティーヴン・ビショップなど、ヒット曲がそう多いわけでもない中堅どころを押さえるのに好適。↓に挙げたほか100種類以上出ている様子なのだが、わが国のiTunesストアやAmazonではＤＬ購入できる範囲がぐんと狭まる。日本盤ＣＤが出ているわけでもないのに。
