Dance-Punk Playlist

ダンス・パンク（Dance-punk）。
1970年代のクラウト・ロックやブライアン・イーノ、イギー・ポップなど、ビート重視のロックを源流とし、パンク／ニュー・ウェーブが百花繚乱となった1980年前後の、英国のギャング・オブ・フォーやキリング・ジョーク、米国のジェームズ・チャンス、ESGなど、タテ乗りとは異なりバネの利いたビートを特徴とする、当時としては異色の「踊れる」パンクを、こう称する。

特定の音楽観に基づくジャンルというより、やりたいことを自由にやっていたら、結果としてダンス・パンクになったという面があり、バンド形式やＤＪスタイルなど、ビート重視という1点を除けば音楽性はバラバラなのだが、2000年代に入ると、ヒットチャートが空洞化したりメジャーなレコード会社の勢力が衰えたことも手伝い、LCDサウンドシステムの "Losing My Edge" やザ・ラプチャーの "House of Jealous Lovers" などが起爆剤となって、多彩な広がりを見せ、現時点では踊れるかどうか、パンクであるかどうかという問いが意味を失うほど、至極当然の音楽傾向として背景に退いた感がある。




音楽を聞くことにおいて、ジャンルに左右されるつもりはない。どんな出自だろうと、音楽に貴賤はないから。
それでも人びとがジャンルを必要とするのは、「佐藤優にとっての神学／宗男」「雨宮処凛にとっての右翼／バンギャル」のように、一種の拠りどころ／アイデンティティーとして求めるのではないだろうか。
今や佐藤優や雨宮処凛は、マスコミ・出版界という高みから、われわれにご意見できる立場となっているが、ウシジマくん最新エピソードで「しんこｃｈ」なる人物が、テレビ実況の掲示板から情報商材のマルチ商法に乗り換えて、ヒルズ族に成り上がろうとしている姿と、大きな違いがあるとは思えない。
キリスト神学を猛勉強したり、ビジュアル系バンドを追っかけたり、カリスマ起業家のセミナーに参加したり情報商材に大金払ったり、既存の権威や秩序に連なることで、後から来る者に対して自分を大きく見せ、先行利得を山分けする、ネオリベ／拝金主義的な処世術に他ならないのではないかと。

そんな連中に付き合っていられるほど人生長くないと思うのだが、しかし佐藤優を通しては学びたくないとしても、キリスト神学自体に価値がないわけではない。ビジュアル系や情報商材だって、人を集めているからには、どこか何かしら学ぶべき点があるのかも分からない。
かつて新左翼・学生運動に、あるいは近年おたくやネット民に分裂を繰り返させ、細分化させることになった、狭量なセクト主義・教条主義には興味ないが、その拠りどころとなる理念や世界観には興味がある。
というようなわけで、個別のアーティストだけでなく、音楽のジャンル、サブ・ジャンルや一過性の流行などについても、プレイリストとしてシリーズ化してゆこうと–
