先のブログで、結婚しない中高年のことを少し書きましたが、前に、イタリアのペンフレンドのルイジさん（30代）と、草食系男子と、結婚しない男性について話したことを思い出しました。
彼の英語は完璧ではありません（それは私も同様なので、文通が成り立つ）が、書いてあることは、大変興味深いことなので、少し長めの抜粋ですが、貼り付けさせてもらっちゃいました。
彼が書いているのは、イタリアの男性が昔ほどマッチョばかりでもないし、女性の尻を追いかけていないこと、女性が独立したこと、そして、イタリアにパラサイトシングルが増えたこと。

So when I read the articles, they have put the attention for the sexuality of men, that are not gay, but also they don't want to go with women... and in this case... also in Italy is rare...
but if you say that the meaning is that they have many female friends, but they are not aggressive in romance, they like women, but they don't think only to them (but they think), well, in this definition, I see many Italian men, (not all) of my generation, or the next.
But until I will not see what is this "soshoku danshi" maybe I say something for anoher.
For example in Italy, even if in the television, there is always the macho's culture, many men of my generation, are not (including me...) we are not the stereotype of Latin lover, even if we like the women.
Then, the meanings that I do for 'that is not the priority' is that we have some female friends and we go out with them, but not for intention to do sex... if so... here there are many... not all... but there are...
About the sexuality here, there was a strange wave.
Because until the years 60 there was only culture of macho, and Italy was male-dominated society.
In the years 70, with the feminist movement, the mind of Italian men was changed, enough. Also because in a family both spouses should or would work.
Also the sexual life of women is changed. They were more certain, more safe, and some time also hard.
So, for ten years men and women stay were at the same level.
But (maybe you don't believe, but is so...) in the years 80-90 when Berlusconi begun his career as contractor of television, he transmit (welll he is not alone, there was the staff that take the decision) many shows or movies with high sexual contents.
And over time, also the advertising put many sexual contents, but not only. They put many stereotype references of the female rule.
So the minds of new generation is an other time changed.
In different way...because there is a mix.
So the desire of young girl is to become a show girl, little dressed, that can do nothing, but is watched from all.
There is not a problem to use her body to do something.
So the girl are not for the housewife, like year 50, but they think to the sexual man pleasure.
Is difficult to explain correctly for me... maybe when you come in Italy or when you went, you have seen something.
But, leave the sexuality, an other phenomenon is grown in these years.
The Italian term is 'bamboccione' (big baby) that means that many boy like me or more older than me (well me I consider I boy not a man... mature man...) still live with parents.
They not leave the parent's house, sometime because they have not work (but in this case is normal...) but more because they fell good to stay with them, they don't have much costs, less things to look after, and so on...
They go out with friends, do a good life, but then they return to the parent's house.”
