Much attention has been paid recently to the increasing occurrence of American-grown Islamic terrorists conducting attacks against US targets, primarily in the homeland. Less attention has been paid to homegrown terrorism, not exclusively Muslim terrorists, exported overseas to target non- US persons. This report examines the implications of what it would mean for the US to be seen increasingly as an incubator and “exporter of terrorism.”

　米国政府がテロリスト育成に組織的に関与しているという内容ではない。米国市民で、結果として米国内外のテロ活動に参加・関与する人間が存在しているという事実の指摘といくつかの実例の列挙である。数値データすら用意されていない。この意味で、CIA 報道官 Marie Harf の "These sorts of analytic products - clearly identified as coming from the Agency's 'Red Cell' - are designed simply to provoke thought and present different points of view." というコメントは正しい。

　　CIA spokeswoman Marie Harf played down the significance of the paper: "These sorts of analytic products - clearly identified as coming from the Agency's 'Red Cell' - are designed simply to provoke thought and present different points of view."

　つまり本物であることは認めているわけだ。
　しかしそれにしても、"are designed simply to provoke thought and present different points of view" という表現は面白い。日本語の「あたっていようがいまいが、そこに述べられていることが反響を呼べば、それでいいわけですよ」の、まさに適訳に当たる。だがこれは、日本における批評やいわゆる評論家の発言についてならばそれでもよかろうが、CIAの "analytic products" が主語では、言い訳としてさすがに通るまい。

　件の曹操の墓は、だいぶ旗色が悪くなってきたらしい。
　ただしこの記事では、墓を偽物と断定する側の具体的な証拠は挙げられていない。

　　闫沛东说，他手里掌握着重要的证据，足证“曹操墓”是弥天大谎，其中还有河南考古队发掘曹操墓雇用的民工，见证了两年来，村、乡、县直至市级相关方面介入流通假文物的过程。既然如此，那倒不如干脆让曹操墓真假进入司法程序，像是当年的华南虎事件一样，让公安部门来组织考古专家做最后的公论。

　　考古本来是一门严谨的学问，最需要科学精神，最需要严密论证和谨慎分析。但是，先是安阳方面匆忙宣布发掘“曹操高陵”，接着说“不会允许进行任何商业活动”。话音未落，安阳市领导就开始展望“旅游景区”和旅游收益。而后，面对质疑，面对科学考古，上级相关部门还“义无反顾”地回应说“质疑不影响官方认定”，哪里得见什么科学精神？

　曹操墓主張派にとって、それが何が何でも曹操の墓でなければならないという事情だけはわかった。
