How's everything going in your life today?
いやぁ、今年のミネソタの冬は長い！！
Oh well, this winter has been soooo long!!
正確に言えば、冬はもうほとんど終わって、すぐそこに春が来ていて、今は冬と春の間の季節の本当、最後の最後の方だと思うのですが、なかなか、完全に「春が来たぞー！」
と、冬の色を抜けきった感じまでは来ていません。
Technically speaking, I think that winter is pretty much over and spring is almost here, but now would be a season in the last moments of the ending of between winter and spring. So, I haven't got the feeling to get out of winter and don't want to say "Spring is here!!" yet.
早く、綺麗な青空と明るいお日様が見られる日が多くなると嬉しいなぁ。
I hope that we'll have more days to cherish blue sky and bright sun shortly.
さて、我が家のめいですが、昨年度から日本語補習校に通っています。
So, our lovely 3 year daughter, May-chan, attends Japanese school from last school year.
3月末に年少前クラスを無事終える事ができました。
She finished the 2-3 year-old class in the end of March.
そして、4月からは年少組に進級し、今年度から本格的に補習校の一員として、毎週通学が始まりました。
（年少前クラスは回数が少なかったのと、親も色んなお役目から免除されておりました。）
In this school year, she's in the 3-4 year-old class and goes to school every Saturday. Us, the parents also officially became the members of school and need to do more volunteer jobs from this year.
(In the youngest class, we only had the class once in every 2-3 week, so the parents were excluded from most of the volunteer jobs to run the school.)
今日は年少組に入って始めての登校日、入園式のあった日の様子を書いていきたいと思います。
Today I want to write about the first day in the new school year and the entrance ceremony held on the same day.
初日の朝。折角なので、新しいスクールバッグを背負って校舎の前で記念撮影。
In the morning of the first school day, I took a picture of May-chan carrying the brand new school back in front of the school building.
初日のお弁当。お友達のmashuさんが日本から送ってくれたトトロのお弁当箱にアンパンマンのフォークが大活躍！
（本当はね、もっとちゃんとしたお弁当を作りたいんですが、食べてくれるもの前提で作るとこんなんになっちゃいます。笑）
The lunch box for the first day. My dear friend, Mashu-san, kindly sent the cute Totoro bento box and Anpanman forks from Japan!
(As a Japanese mother, I wished I could make a more healthy bento box for my daughter, but when I put whatever May-chan would eat in, the bento box looked like this.)
水筒もmashuさんからの入園祝いで大好きなアンパンマン。これだとしっかり水分補給をしてくれるのでHit-chanも安心。
（mashuさん、ありがと～。めい、「トトロのお弁当！とかアンパンマンのお水！アンパンマンのフォーク！」
と言って、すごく気に入って使ってます！）
Mashu-san also gave May-chan a cute Anpanman water bottle too! May-chan really loved it and wanted to drink water from her favorite water bottle all the time.
(Thank you so much, Mashu-san! "Totoro's bento box! Anpanman's forks!!" May-chan loves them so much and always asks me to gram them for her. )
お友達皆も一緒に進級。入園式だったので、皆お洒落して決まってる～！
A picture with her class mates. We're going to attend the entrance ceremony that day, so everybody looked so cook and cute in the special style.
一応入園式はあったものの、式自体は20分程だったので、それまでは式の練習やお歌を歌ったりしました。
The ceremony itself was only for 20 mins, so we practiced how to behave at the ceremony or enjoyed some songs beforehand.
本来はクラスのお当番の親意外は子供たちだけで授業を受けるんですが、めいはまだまだマミーから離れられません。（汗）
In this class, the kids are supposed to take the classes without their parents, but May-chan can't be separated from Mommy yet.
入園式自体の写真は載せられませんが、日本にいるみたいな雰囲気で素敵でしたし、皆上手にお返事ができてこの一年の成長を見せてくれました。
I can't put pictures of the ceremony here, but it really made me feel like I was in Japan during the ceremony. The kids did a great job on raising their hands and saying "Yes!" when the teacher called their names, which showed us how much they grew up in the last year.
ただ、皆舞台に上がって記念写真を撮ったんですが、この時もめいはマミーから離れられず、親の中でHit-chan一人、ちゃっかり記念写真に写り込んでしまいました。(笑)
They took a picture of the class (only the kids and teachers) on the front stage in the auditorium after the ceremony, but May-chan didn't want me to leave her at all and cried a lot, so I ended up being the only parent in the memorable picture. LOL
こんな感じで、まだまだマミー無しでは授業に参加できないめいですが、この先ちょっとずつ慣らしていって、コロナも収まってきているので、こちら（アメリカ）のプリスクールにも近い将来参加していって、自立への第一歩を踏み出せたら良いなぁと思っています。
Like I talked, May-chan hasn't been ready to be in the class without Mommy yet, but I want her to gradually get used to be separated from Mommy and enjoy the class with her friends. Now the pandemic has been settled down, so I'm thinking to make her start going to preschool in the near future so that she can start taking the first step to be independent.
お友達のEちゃんはいつも優しくて、Hit-chanがめいに「Eちゃんとおてて繋いでもらい～！」というと、絶対に嫌がらず繋いでくれるし、こんな風にめいの事を気にしてくれます。本当に、いつも助かってます。
One of her classmates, E-chan, is always so sweet to May-chan. Whenever I say, "Hey, May-chan, ask E-chan to hold your hand!!", she always gives her hand first and patiently waits for May-chan. I really appreciate her being so nice and kind to my daughter.
最後に、1年振りくらいに化粧をしたマミーと記念写真。はい、チーズ！
At last, let me share this picture. I put some make up on for the first time in a year or so. Haha!
という訳で、我が家のめい、無事に年少組に入園できました。頑張ろうね！
