思いがけない差し入れ(A Gift From Japan)

Hello.





またまたミネソタでは雪が降りまして、うちの庭はより真っ白になっております。
Here in MN, we got some snow again and our back yard is whiter now.





さて、昨日、カリブーで働いていたら嬉しい差し入れをいただきましたよ。
So yesterday, I got a surprise gift at work.





常連さんの中に、お仕事で日本に出張で行かれる方がいらっしゃいまして、その方がわざわざHit-chanの為に持ってきてくださったんですよ。
One of my Caribou friends just came back from a business trip to Japan and he brought some treats back for me.






こっちでは貴重なおかきも～！
Delicious rice crackers too!!!



中には宇治抹茶味のキットカットもあり、偶然にもHit-chanの生まれ故郷、宇治と繋がりのあるものを持ってきてくださるとは！！
He actually unintentionally got me "Uji Green Tea Kit-Kat" which is related to me because Uji is my hometown!!





ちなみに、今回いただいたのは2回目で、前回は出張に行く前に
It was the second time that I got a souvenior from him and on the first time, he asked me,





「何か向こうで欲しいものある？」
"Do you want me to get something for you in Japan?"





と聞いてくださって、何故かその時に咄嗟に答えたのが
before he left, so I answered without thinking a lot




「粉末になってるコーンスープが良いなぁ。」
"If you could find a pack of powder corn soup, that would be great."





と言ったので、わざわざコーンスープの素をいくつか買ってきてくださったんです。
Then, he really broght some packages of corn soup back for me!!





今回は「２週間行ってくるよ～。」「いってらっしゃ～い！」というお話をしていただけなのに、わざわざHit-chanのコーンスープ好きを覚えてくださっていて、またまた持ってきてくださったという訳です。
This time, even though we just had a quick greeting like "I'm going to go there 2 weeks this time." "Oh, have a nice trip!!", he remembered that I like corn soup and brought it back for me again!!!




本当、Hit-chanの事を思ってくださったその優しいお気持ちに大感激でした。
I really appreciate him for having time to think about me far in Japan.





ご本人に直接お礼をするのはもちろんですが、そういう優しい気持ちの循環と言いますか、Hit-chanも今回いただいた愛のように、温かい気持ちのおすそ分けをしていきたいなぁと思いました。
Of course, I want to do something back to him, but I also want to pay this kindness and love forward to someone else as well.

サプライズディナー(A Surprise Dinner)

Hello.





皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing?





先日、ミネソタ最大のアジアンスーパー、ユナイテッドヌードルズで手に入れたキムチの素と大根で、カクテキを作ってみました。
The other day, I tried to make Kimchi with Daikon and Kimchi sauce that I got at United Noodles. (United Noodles is the biggest Asian grocery store.)





出来は、結構美味しかったので、今度はキュウリを使って作ってみようと思います。
My home made Kimchi was actually good, so I'm going to make some with cucumber next.





さて、昨日はカリブーで朝働いた後、夕方からは日本語の家庭教師のお仕事に行ってきました。
So yesterday, I worked at Caribou in the morning and went to tutor in the afternoon.





で、お腹を空かせて帰ってきたら、駐車場に車を止めた時点で何か良い匂いがどこかから香ってきました。
After tutoring, I got back home with my empty stomach, I smelled something so good when I parcked my car in the garage.





家の中に入ると、Andyっちキッチンに立って忙しなく動いておりましたよ。
When I went into my house, I found Andy moving around in the kitchen.


























一時間ほど経ったら、素敵なディナーが出来上がってきました。
After one hour or so, a special dinner was served on the table.






お花まで買ってきてくれて、普段は使わないランチョンマットまで出してきました。
（ちなみにこのランチョンマットは親友あきさんの手作りです。）
He also got flowers for me, so I set up place mats though we usually don't use them. (Actually, my best friend, Aki hand made the mats.)





Andyっちが愛をこめて作ってくれたのは。。。
And...here are what Andy made.





フェンネルと西洋ねぎのスープ。ワイルドライスのピラフ。ポークソテーでございます。
Soup of roasted fennel and leeks. Wildrice pilaf and pork saute.





パルメザンチーズのバゲットを添えてね。
With parmesan cheese baguette.






ぜ～んぶ、一人でお疲れ様でした。
Thank you so much for cooking all by yourself.





本当に幸せものでございます。
I'm the luckiest wife.





何かね、聞くと「最近二人の時間が無かったから、何かしたいなぁって思ってん。」ですって。
I asked him why he did this surprise, then "I wanted to do something with you because we haven't spent much time lately."





Hit-chanも同じ気持ちで、「最近二人で何もしてないなぁ。」と思っていたところだったんでう、本当に嬉しいサプライズでした。
I was actually feeling like "We haven't done much together lately..." as well, so it was a really nice surprise to me.





Andyっちのお蔭で、何気ない日がとっても特別な日になりました。
Thanks to my wonderful husband, my ordinary day became so special.

我がグリルマンの情熱＆キャットとデート(My Grill Man's Passion & Girl's Shopping With Kat)

Hello!





皆様、お元気でしょうか？
How are you doing today?




こちらミネソタ、久しぶりに結構な量の雪が降りまして、改めて冬まっただ中なんだなぁと感じております。
Here in MN, we got a lot of snow 2 days ago and it made me feel that we're in the middle of winter again.





さて、うちのAndyっちはグリルマンとしてよく活躍をしておりますが、昨日改めて、その情熱に驚かされました。
So, my Andy loves grilling as you might already know, but I was so surprised and impressed how passionate he was as a grill man last night.






彼はたった一枚のステーキを焼くだけの為に庭の雪を掘っているのです。（ちなみにグリルは、右手前にある雪がこんもり積もってるやつです。笑）
He's shoveling the snow in the yard just for one slice of steak. (BTW, his grill is the thing in the right front with much snow on top.)





グリルマンの嫁はその情熱にはついていけませんが、本人が満足してくれているようなので良かったです。
I sometimes get overwhelmed by his passon for grill, but I'm so happy that he was satisfied with the dinner.





さて、今日は先日モール・オブ・アメリカに買物へ行った様子を書きたいと思います。
Okay today, I want to write about the day I went to MOA(Mall of America) the other day.













今回一緒に行ったのは、Hit-chanの新しい大事なお友達、キャットでございます。
The friend I went there with was a new nice friend of mine, Kat.




実はキャット、Hit-chanのカリブーの店長なんですが、最近になって個人的な話も色々した事でその前向きな性格に惹かれて大好きになり、プライベートでも遊ぶようになったんですよ。
Actually, Kat is the store manager of my caribou, but we've talked about our personal lives together a lot and I fell in love with her positive personality so quick. And now, we're very nice friends and hang out together outside of work.






一応、アメリカ最大のモールの中を写真に撮っておきました。
Just in case, I took a few pictures of MOA.





遊園地もあるよ。
Yup, there's an amusement park in it.




で、この買物の最大の目的は、ブラジャーを買う事。(笑)
And..., the biggest mission of this day was getting some new bras. Haha.





というのも、キャットと「どこ行く～？」と話していた時、キャットが「そろそろ、ブラジャー買いに行きたいなぁ。」と言ったんです。
When we were talkning about what we're going to do together beforehand, Kat said "I kind of want to buy a new bra."






で、Hit-chan、女子としてはありえない事なんですが、日本から持ってきたブラジャー以来ちゃんとブラジャーを買い替えた事がなく、手持ちのブラが瀕死の状態だったんで、「お～、ちょうど良いやん。」という事になったんですねぇ。(笑)
When I heard that, I was like "Oh, that's a good idea!" because believe or not, all of my bras are what I brought from Japan and that means they're more than 3.5 years old. Haha.







キャットお薦めのAerieというAmerican Eagleのランジェリー専門店がモール・オブ・アメリカにあるんですね。
There's a shop called "Aerie" which is a lingerie shop of American Eagle in MOA. Kat recommended that store, so we decided to go there.





で、無事にお店で新しいブラを３つ購入しまして、ランチを食べる事にしました。
And..., we both got some brand new bras and had a lunch together after that.





Hit-chanはどうしてもサラダバーが食べたかったので。。。
I really wanted to try the salad bar, so...






サラダバーと。。。

チキンテンダー。
Chicken tenders.





キャットは。。。
Kat got...





プレッツェルがバンズのハンバーガー。
a burger with pretzel bun.





美味しかったです！
I enjoyed them!





この後、アメリカでは一回も行った事無かったんで、１ドルショップでちょこちょこ小物を買ったり、Marshallsというお店でキャットの服を買ったりしてブラブラしました。
After the lunch, we stopped by a dollar shop and got some little things because I'd never been to a dollar shop in the US. Also, we looked around Marshalls and Kat got some clothes there.





その後、デザートを食べようという事で。。。
After that, I wanted to eat something sweet, so...






フローズンヨーグルト屋さんに行きました。
we stopped by a frozen yogurt shot.






キャットのん。

結局ね、二人でモール・オブ・アメリカに5時間も滞在していましたよ。(笑)
After all, we actally stayed in MOA for 5 hours! Haha.





うちのAndyっちは「モール・オブ・アメリカに行くのん、嫌いやねん。」と言うので、初めてゆっくりと見られて大満足でした。
My husband, Andy always says "I don't like going to MOA", so I was so happy that I could look around there for such a long time.





キャットといると気を使わなくて良いし、何時間一緒にいても苦にならないんですねぇ。
It's very comfortable for me to be with Kat, so I don't mind being with her for many hours.





本当、久しぶりに女子っぽい事ができてめっちゃ楽しかったです。(笑)
Anyways, I was so glad that I could do something girly after a while.





キャット、また一緒に遊んでね～！
Kat, please play with me again!!!

最高の誕生日、三日目。(The 3rd Day Of My Best Birthday Trip)

Hi!




皆さん、お元気ですか？
How are you doing?




Hit-chanは風邪も引かずに、毎日元気に過ごしております。
I haven't got a cold or something so far and I'm doing so well.





さて、今日は最高の誕生日の様子、最後です。
Okay, I want to finish the story of my best birthday today.




ドキドキワクワクのサプライズをしてもらい、一泊した翌朝、持ってきていたプレゼントを開ける事にしました。
In the next morning after I got the big surprise, I opened presents.






Andyっちからと、Andyっちのパパママから。
From Andy and his parents, Ray&Mary.






パパママからは、カードと。。。
From Ray&Mary, I got a heart-warming card and...





素敵なセーターとピアスを2種類。
a cute sweater and 2 different styles of pretty ear rings.






Andyっちからも、カードと。。。
From Andy, I got a loving card and...






ハードロック・ボストンのTシャツ！！（出張行った時に買ってきてくれたの。）
a Hard Rock Boston T shirt!!! (He got it when he went there for business.)






そして、今更ながらのCDプレイヤー！！（前から欲しいなぁって言ってたのを、覚えていてくれたの。）
And yeah, it's kind of classic style, but a CD player!! (He remembered that I wanted it.)





Hit-chan、たまに趣味程度に安いキーボードを弾いたりするんですが、「あ～、CDの曲に合わせて弾きたいなぁ。」ってずっと思ってたんです。
I actually play the keyboard someties, but I was always thinking "I wish I had a CD player so that I can play the keyboard along with songs on my CDs.





やっぱり小さなCDプレイヤーの方がパソコンよりも持ち運びが簡単ですし、聞きたい時にパッと再生できるので欲しかったんですよね～。
I like a small CD player better because it's easier to carry around and play quick anytime I want to listen to my CDs.





で、プレゼントを開けてホテルをチェックアウトした後ですが、またまたカジノに突撃しました。
After I opened my presents, we checked out and headed to Casino again.





一喜一憂を繰り返し、4時間くらいみっちり遊ばせてもらいました。
Oh well, we enjoyed about 4 hours there as being so busy feeling ups and downs.




結果、昨日の勝ち分は全部お返しして、遊び代として10ドルお支払いして終わりました。(笑)
（4時間遊んで、10ドルだけの負けは悪くないでしょ？）
After all, we returned all the money we won the night before and paid $10 for the play fee.
(Isn't $10 not that bad for 4 hour fun entertainment?)







実は今回、サプライズをしてくれるAndyっちに冗談で「どんなけ愛してるか見せてね！」って言っていたんですが、本当にHit-chanの期待を大幅にぶち破ってくれました。
By the way, I was joking to Andy like "Show me how much you love me!" when I asked him to do a surprise for me, but this present was way beyond my expectation and imagination.




Andyっちからの大きな愛をひしひしと感じ、30歳の誕生日に、改めて大きな感謝の気持ちと生まれてきた目的を思い出せたような気がします。
By being held in Andy's big love on my 30th birthday, I could remind myself of a lot of gratitude for everything and the meaning to live my life.





これから、こんな素敵な時間をくれたAndyっちを始め、大好きな人達の笑顔の為に、Hit-chanも何かしていきたいなぁと思いました。
From now, starting with something for Andy who gave me this precious time, I do really want to make others smile and happy by what I can do.





そんなこんなで、これが人生最高の30度目の誕生日でした。
This is how my best 30th birthday went.

最高の誕生日、二日目。 (The 2nd Day Of My Best Birthday Trip)

相変わらず寒いミネソタから、Hit-chanです。
It's Hit-chan from MN where is still super cold.





今日もHit-chan30歳の誕生日の続きです。
I want to write about my 30th birthday trip also today.





素敵なディナーの後、暗くなった道をAndyっちが車を進めて行きました。
After the nice and delicious dinner, Andy drove in the dark.




で、一時間ちょっとのドライブの後、着いた最終目的地はここでした！
After about 1.5 hour drive, he took me this final destination!





グランドカジノ！！！
Yes, Grand Casino!!




もう、本当に本当に嬉しいサプライズ！！
Yes, this is a really really happy surprise!!




しかも、Andyっち、フロントで色々交渉してくれて、安くで良い部屋に泊まれる事になりました。
Thankfully, Andy negotiated at the front counter, we could stay in a reall nice room for a cheaper price.





荷物置きっぱなしやけど、広いの分かるかな？
We didn't organize our bags yet, but can you see how spacy it is?

It has a big TV screen and a fire place.

もちろん、ベイビーちゃん達も連れてきましたよ～。
Of course, we brought our baby-chans with us.




この後、早速カジノに繰り出しまして、スロットマシーンの最初のスピンでいきなりボーナスゲット。
After we enjoyed walking around the room, we headed to casino and believe or not, we won a bonus on the very first spin on a slot machine.




そのボーナスで何と＄43も勝っちゃいましたよ！
And we won $43!!!




その後、少額ずつ色々なスロットマシーンで遊びまして、その夜は＄60くらいの儲けで終わりました。
After that, we bet a little amount on many different slot machines and won about $60 for the total that night.





カジノ好きのHit-chan、本当に楽しい時間を過ごしました。
I love Casino, so that was a very fun and exciting night.
