クリスマス2011 その? (Christmas 2011, vol.2)

How's it going, everyone?





いやぁ、本当に1週間が経つのが早いですねぇ。
Oh my, it's really fast that a week passes by.





先週のシフトが6日連続勤務だったんで、余計にそう感じられたのかもしれないです。
My work shift of the last week was 6days in a row, so maybe it made me feel faster.





でもね、その6日連続勤務の後に2日連続休みだったんで、結構休みを満喫することができました。
However, after the 6day-in a row shift, I had 2days off in a row and I could enjoy the time off a lot.





さてさて、今日は前回のクリスマス報告の続きです。
So, I'll talk about the rest of the last Christmas story today.





前回の記事ではクリスマスイブの夜にクッキーのデコレーションをして、その後レイモンド一家の毎年恒例のパーティーに行って、クリスマスの朝にまたまたレイモンド一家の所でクリスマス交換をしたってところまで書きました。
In the last article...., I wrote about that we decorated cookies, went to an annual Christmas party at the Raymonds with Ray&Mary and Andy and I exchanged presents with the Raymonds in the Christmas morning.




で、今日はクリスマスのメインイベント、我が家族でのプレゼント交換会の様子をお届けしたいと思います。
So today, I want to show you our family's present exchanging and opening which is the main event of Christmas.





昨年は、Hit-chanがクリスマス翌日からまた朝5時に出勤だったので、例年はもうちょっと遅くから始めるプレゼント交換も、昼過ぎから始めました。
We usually start opening present from late afternoon, but we started earlier because I had to work on the next day from 5:00am.






まずは腹ごしらえでランチ。
First off, we had lunch not to get hungry during the present opening.





で、いよいよスタート
Finally, it began.





暖炉の前にはサンタさんからのプレゼント。
There are presents from Santa in front of the fireplace.





ツリーの前には大小いっぱいの箱が並べられました。
There are a lot of boxes from small to big around the tree.





まずはサンタさんからもらったプレゼントを開けていきます。
We started opening presents from Santa first.






年の若い順に。。。
From the youngest one...











Hit-chanはサンタさんから。。。
What I got from Santa is...





お気に入りのチョコレートをもらいました。
My favorite chocolates.






で、皆にツリーの周りのプレゼントを配って、またまた若い順に開けていきます。
And we passed the boxes around the tree to each and open from the youngest person.






で、皆さん、プレゼント開けるのにどれくらい時間がかかったと思います？
So well, guess how long it took for us to open every present?





実は、全部開け終わるのに4時間くらいかかりました。よって、それを短縮してご報告していきたいと思います。（笑）
It's actually 4hours!!!! So, I'll make it short and show you.





Andyっちはね、たくさん仕事用のYシャツとかパンツをもらってました。
Andy got a lot of work shirts and pants.






Brad君も仕事用の服とか日曜大工の道具とかもらってました。
Brad got also work clothes and tools.





これは、Maryはアクセサリーを整理するケースをもらってるところ。
This is when Mary got small boxes to organize her accessories.





Andyっちは他にも料理のスパイスとか。。。
Andy got also spices and...





パスタメーカーとかもらいました。
a pasta maker.






プレゼントの中には心のこもったカードも。。。
Among the presents, there's a card with a lot of love as well...






で、我が家族恒例の小さなプレゼントをたくさんの箱で何重にもラッピングするというやつ。。。
So, this is our family's tradition, wrapping one present with a lot of boxes.




まぁ、その恒例のプレゼントが何個かあったんで時間がかかるんですけどね。（笑）
Oh well, that's why it took a lot of time to open the presents. Hehe.





で、4時間もしてれば疲れてきますし、開けた時の感動も、確かに薄れてきますよねぇ。
Yeah, certainly, we were getting tired as opening the presents for 4hours and the surprise when you open a present got less for sure.





Hit-chanもかなり疲れてましたねぇ。
I was also very tired.





Brad君とDevinはDevinの家族の方に行かなくちゃいけなくなって、途中でバイバイ。（爆）
Brad and Devin had to go to Devin's family place, so they had to leave on the halfway.






でもでも、Hit-chanにはどうしても見届けなければいけない瞬間があったんですよ。
Even though, I had a moment that I couldn't miss at all.






それがこれ。
This is it.





これは、クリスマス前からAndyっちにサプライズしようと、Brad君の協力の下、ずっと隠していたプレゼントだったんです。
This is a present that I kept hiding from Andy with Brad's help since before Christmas.





このプレゼントが最後の最後に開けたものだったんですけど、開けるまでAndyっち、それが自分へのものだとさえ気づいておりませんでした。
This is the very last one we opened, but Andy even didn't notice that it's for him until the last moment at all.






「え～、最後にこれはきついなぁ～。」なんて、また毎年恒例の多重ラッピングだと思ってる様子。（笑）
"Well, it's kind of hard to open this last." He was still thinking that it's one of those many-layer-wrapped presents. Hehe.






中から出てきたのは、炭で出来る燻製グリル♪
From the inside, a smoker grill showed up!





BBQ大好きAndyっち、前々から「色んなもの燻製したいなぁ。」と何度も言っていたんですよ。
A BBQ lover, Andy, was often telling me "I want to smoke many stuff..."






一応、BBQグリルは持ってるんですけど、燻製専用ではないので、それでは燻製するのに大切な蒸気とかが調整できなかったんです。
He had a BBQ grill, but he couldn't adjust moisture inside the grill since it's not for smoking.





これで、思いっきり自分の好きなように色んなものを燻製できるって事です。
So, now, he can smoke whatever he wants just as the way he likes.





ちなみに、Andyっちからもらったプレゼントに、Hit-chanの好きなポークリブレストラン、トニーローマのリブソースがあったんで、Andyっち、「今年は家でいっぱいリブ作ろうね。」って言ってくれました。（笑）
Actually, Andy gave me Tony Roma's BBQ sauce which is my favorite pork rib restaurant, so he said "Lets's smoke a lot of ribs at home this summer!" Hehe.





という訳で、昨年のクリスマス、4時間もかかったのはちょっと大変でしたけど、無事一番大きなプレゼントが成功したので、めっちゃ嬉しかったです。
It was a little bit tough that it took 4hours just to open the presents, but I was so happy that my biggest present for Andy made him so surprised and happy.





さて、今からまた今年のクリスマスのプレゼント考えていかなくちゃな～。。。（爆）
Well..., I have to think about this Christmas from now again...Hehe.





という訳で、我が家のクリスマス2011でした。
This is my family's Christmas 2011.

クリスマス2011 その? (Christmas 2011, vol.1)

皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing?





こちらミネソタはですねぇ、昨日雪が積もりまして、通勤の道のりが滑ってめちゃくちゃ怖かったです。
Here in Minnesota, it snowed yesterday and I was so scared to drive on the slippery road to the work.





しかも、昨年のステートフェアで折角雪かき機を買ったというのに、積もり具合が微妙で、今冬は未だに出番はありません。
Even though we got a brand new snow blower at the state fair last year, we haven't used it yet this winter because snow doesn't pile enough.





で、昨日は仕事前に頑張って家の前のドライブウェイをシャベルで雪かきしましたよ～。
That's why I had to shoveled our drive way before I went to work.





さてさて、ミネソタもようやく本来の冬らしくなっている今日この頃ですが、今更ながら昨年のクリスマスの様子をご報告をしたいと思います。（笑）
So, it's finally getting the real winter here in Minnesota lately, but I want to show you about last Christmas though it's kind of too late. Hehe.





まず、クリスマスイブですが、朝にカリブーでバイトしてから、昼過ぎからパパママの家に行きました。
First off, I worked in the morning on the Christmas Eve at Caribou and Andy and I headed to Ray&Mary's (Andy's parents) house in the afternoon.





で、これをやりました。
And, I did it.














そう、クッキーのデコレーションです。
Yeah, decorating cookies!





Maryがクッキーを既に焼いていてくれたので、Hit-chanはただただ好きにデコレーションをしていくだけでOKでした。
Thanks to that Mary already baked the cookies, so I just started from decorating as I wanted.






で、爪楊枝を作ってミッキーマウスを書いてみました。
I drew Micky Mouse with a tooth pick.





で、この日の夜は、家族ぐるみで付き合いのあるレイモンド家の毎年恒例のクリスマスパーティーに行きました。
And at the night, we went to an annual Christmas party at family friends', the Raymonds.





ただ、Hit-chan、朝早くから起きてバイトしてたんで、夜には眠くなって10時過ぎにはおいとまさせてもらいました。
Unfortunately, I got so sleepy because I worked from the early morning, so we left there around 10:30pm.





でもでも、次の朝、AndyっちとHit-chanは、これまた毎年恒例、レイモンド家のプレゼント交換に参加しました。
However, Andy and I joined exchanging Christmas presents at the Raymonds in the next morning.







こちらがレイモンド家のクリスマスツリーです。

で、皆から手袋やら香水やら色々いただきまして、Andyっちも。。。
I got gloves, perfume and whatnot, and Andy also...







スコッチやらビールグラスやらをいただきました。
got scotch, beer glasses and many other things.





今回も楽しいクリスマス交換会に参加させてもらって、素敵な一時を過ごして、Ray&Maryの家に戻りました。
We had a wonderful time at the Raymonds this time again and got back to Ray&Mary's house after that.

Hit-chanの誕生日 (Hit-chan's Birthday.)

どもども。
Hi!




皆さんお久しぶりでございます、Hit-chanです。
Long time to see, everyone, it's Hit-chan.






いやぁ、前回の記事で「今年の抱負はブログをもっと更新すること。」とか言いながら、あれから2週間以上、全く更新しないまま過ぎてしまいました。（笑）
Oh well, even though I said "My new year resolution is updating my blog more often." in the last article, more than 2weeks have passed without updating at all since then. Hehe.






別に何か事件があった訳ではなく、ただただ、毎日バイトをして帰ってくると気が抜けてボーっとしていただけなんですけどね。
It's not because of something unusual happened, but I was just working and got lazy after I got back home everyday.





そんでもって、今日は友達のゆりぐーすさんには「毎日ブログをチェックしてるけど、更新されてないから心配になって。。。」と、心配メールまでいただいてしまいました。
And today, one of my friends, Yuri-goose-san gave me an email and said like "I'm visiting your blog everyday, but it's not been updated for a while, so I got a little bit worried about you..."





やっぱり、あんまり曖昧な抱負を立てても効果がありませんなぁ。（笑）
After all, it's kind of hard to make an abstract resolution work so well.





なので、もうちょっと具体的にして、「願わくば、ブログを週に3回以上は更新する。」に変えることにします。
So, I'll make my resolution more specific, "Hopefully, I'm going to update my blog more than 3times a week."





頑張って更新していきたいと思います。
I'll try to make it.





で、前置きが長くなりましたが、今日は約2週間前に過ごしたHit-chanの誕生日の様子をご報告したいと思います。
So, I've already talked much, but I want to show you about my birthday which was around 2weeks ago.






誕生日の日はHit-chanもAndyっちもお休みを取り、朝からゆっくりのんびり家で過ごし、夕方から予約していたレストランに行きました。
On my birthday, both Andy and I got a day off and spent very precious lazy time at home in the morning and we went to a restaurant which we made a reservation with at night.







これがダウンタウンミネアポリスにあるスペインレストラン。
Here's the Spanish restaurant in downtown Minneapolis.











SOLERAというお店です。
The name is SOLERA.





ここはスペインならではのタパスと呼ばれる小皿料理が楽しめるお店なので、Hit-chan＆Andyっちも色々頼んでみました。
You can enjoy Spanish style meal which is served on small plates called "Tapas" at the place, so we ordered several kinds of plates.





あっ、その前にワインで乾杯しました。
Oh, before that, we toasted with a glass of wine.






めっちゃ暗い店内やったから、フラッシュ使ったら何か白い顔になっちゃったね。
The inside of the restaurant was super dark, so I used the flash light with my camera, but it made my face so white.



Andyっちの顔もね。

こちらがタパスの数々ですが、名前は忘れたので見た目だけで想像してお楽しみください。（笑）
Here are the pictures of the Tapas, but I forgot the dish names, so please enjoy them with the looking and your imagination. Hehe.



















芽キャベツの何とか。。。
Brussels sprouts something...



Dates（デーツ）という干した果物にベーコンを巻いてあるやつ。これはめっちゃ美味しかったよ。
Dates wrapped with bacon. I really liked it.



グリーンサラダ。
Green salad.



蛸と豆の煮物？（笑）
Octopus and beans...?




牛のホホ肉の煮込み。
Beef cheek...




で、最後のこれはちゃんと覚えていて、Hit-chanもAndyっちも人生初だったフォアグラです。
So, I surely remember this because it's foie gras.





好き嫌いが分かれるというフォアグラですが、AndyっちもHit-chanもあんまり「美味しい！」とは言えなかったですねぇ。
Foie gras is something like "love it or hate it" and neither Andy nor Hit-chan could say "I like it!" so much.





で、Andyっちからカードとプレゼントをもらいました。
Andy gave me a card and present.






このカードがねぇ、ほんま泣かせる内容で、涙こらえるのに必死でしたよ。久しぶりに化粧してたからね。（笑）
This card made me so cry, but I tried not to get weepy because I put make up on on the day after a long time. Hehe.






プレゼントはゴルフシューズでした～。
The present was golf shoes.





ご飯を食べた後はそのまま家に帰ったんですけど、家に着いてホッとしてたらAndyっちが。。。
After the dinner, we just directly came back home and I was relaxed and then Andy said...





「あっ、まだここにプレゼント残ってるで～。見てへんかったん？」
"Oh, honey, you still have a present here. Didn't you see that?"






ですって。





で、Andyっちの指差す方向を見てみたら、そこにはまたラッピングされた箱がありました。
So, I looked at the direction that Andy pointed to and found another wrapped box there.





で、開けてみたらこれ。
And here's the present.






分かりますかねぇ。
Do you know what it is?







そう、これ、ハードロックカフェのフーディーです。ちなみにHit-chanはハードロックカフェの服が大好きなんです。
Yes, it's a Hard Rock Cafe's hoodie. By the way, I love Hard Rock Cafe's clothes.






しかもNew Yorkのん。
And it's New York one.





昨年の10月にAndyっち、仕事でNew Yorkに行ったんですが、その時に買っておいてくれたんです。
Andy went to NY last October for business and got it then.





でもね、Hit-chan、既にその時にハードロックカフェのTシャツをもらってたんで、こうやってもう一つ隠してるなんて想像もしてませんでした。
But, he got me a T-shirt at the time too and I already got it, so I didn't even imagine that he got another one and hid it.





でね、これ見た瞬間、Hit-chan、自分でもビックリするくらい大泣きですよ。
And at the moment I found the hoodie, I started crying a lot as much as I surprised myself.





何だろう、まず、Hit-chanの為にハードロックカフェでこのフーディーを選んでくれた事、そして、Hit-chanを驚かせようと思って3ヶ月ほど隠して持ってた事などなど、色々考えたら世界一幸せな妻だなぁと思って、涙が止まらなくなったんですよ。
Well, when I thought that he was looking for it for me at the store and he kept hiding it from me for 3months just to surprise me and etc..., I couldn't stop crying and thinking that I was the happiest wife in the world.





何かねぇ、生きてるとこんなに幸せな事が起こるんだなぁって思っちゃいました。
I thought that such a happy moment comes up if I'm alive.





まぁ、そんな訳で、Andyっちのお陰で、とってもシンプルですが、めちゃくちゃ感動した誕生日を送ることができました。
So, I could have such a simple, but very wonderful and emotional birthday thanks to Andy.

明けましておめでとうございます。（Happy New Year! 2012)

皆さん、明けましておめでとうございます！
Happy New Year, everyone!






いやぁ、年末からあんまりブログを更新せず、こうやって新年のご挨拶も遅くなってすみませんでした。
Well, I'm sorry that I haven't updated my blog since the end of last year and it's kind of got late to say New Year's greeting as well.





実はですねぇ、Hit-chan、今年の年越しは風邪をこじらせて、ベッドの中で過ごすはめになってしまいました。
Actually, I ended up staying in my bed through the New year's eve to New year's day this year because I got sick.





しかもですねぇ、大晦日も元日もバイトが入っておりまして、大晦日のバイト後に具合が悪化したんですが、何せ元日のバイトで代わってくれる人はいないだろうと、薬を飲んで10時間以上寝て、必死で元日は働きました。（笑）
What's worse is that I had to work both on New year's eve and New year's day and nobody would cover my shift, so I took pills and slept over 10hours after work on New year's eve and barely could work on New year's day.





で、やっと誕生日の今日、だいぶ元気になることができました。
And finally, today, on my birthday, I can say that I'm feeling good.





ええ、そうなんですよ。ミネソタ時間の今日、1月5日はHit-chanの28回目の誕生日でございます！
Yeah, actually today, January 5th in MN time is my birthday!






今夜はAndyっちと一緒にダウンタウンにあるスペイン料理を食べに行く予定でございます。
I'm going to have a Spanish dinner in downtown with Andy tonight.






和食ももちろん恋しいんですけど、こっちで食べられる和食は限られているんで、まだあんまり食べた事のないスペイン料理を頂くことにしたんです。
Of course, I really miss Japanese food, but there are only limited options here, so I've decided to try Spanish food that I've not had so much before.





楽しみ、楽しみ♪
I'm so looking forward to it!





で、今年の抱負ですが、願わくば、もうちょっとブログの更新を頻繁にしていきたいですねぇ。
So, speaking of my resolution this year, hopefully, I want to update my blog more often.






この前のクリスマスの様子もまだ全然更新できてないですし、ウルヴスの試合も始まってるのに、その様子も全然更新できてないですしねぇ。
Because, I've not written about the last Christmas and Wolves games at all yet.






もちろん、もっともっとカリブーでの仕事をちゃんと覚えて、より役に立つ人になっていきたいと思います。
Also, I do want to learn more things at Caribou and become more reliable as well.





とにかくですねぇ、相変わらずのこんなHit-chanではございますが、今年もどうぞよろしくお願いします。
Anyways, I've not changed at all, but I hope you'll still like my blog this year as well.






皆さんにとって、最高の一年になりますように！
