今年のイースター・その3 (Easter 2019 vol.3)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your life treating you?




Hit-chanは元気ですよ。
Mine is spoiling me as always.




さて、イースターの前日はヘアカットに誕生日パーティーと忙しくも楽しく過ごしました。
So, on the day before Easter, Andy and I had a busy and fun day by getting a haircut and attending the birthday party.




そして、次の日のイースター当日の朝、めいをママに見ていてもらって、AndyっちとパパとHit-chanでゴルフをしに行きました。
And in the morning on next day, we asked mom to look after May-chan and went to play golf with Dad.




今シーズン最初のコースでのプレイです。
That was the first play at a course for us in this season.




ティータイム（開始タイム）は朝の8時過ぎでしたが、イースター当日だからか、私達の他は誰もいなかったので自分達のペースでコースを回る事ができました。
Our tee time was at a little over 8am, but nobody else was at the course maybe because it was Easter. So, we could enjoy playing at our own pace.





カートが使えてHit-chanはホッ！
I was so glad that they already got the carts ready for the season.





この日の朝は、小雨が降ったり止んだりでしたが、全く問題ありませんでした。
In the morning, we got a little shower rain on and off, but it was not a big deal.





いざ、スタート！
Let's play!





Hit-chan、今シーズン初めてのコースだったので、とにかく楽しみながら感覚を思い出す事を意識してプレイしました。
Me personally, I tried to focus on just having fun with playing itself and remembering what my good swing was like because it's my first course play in this season.





回っている内にお日様と青空も出てきて、ほら、こんな気持ちの良い天気になってくれました。AndyっちはHit-chanがプレゼントしたレンジファインダー（距離を測る機械）を気に入って使ってくれていたので、あげたHit-chanも嬉しかったです。
While we're playing, the sun and the blue sky showed up and brought us the beautiful weather. Andy liked using his range finder which I gave him for his BD, so I was happy to see it.





思った以上に早く9ホールを回り終えたし、他に誰もプレイしてなかったので、もう9ホール回る事にしました。
We actually finished the first 9 quicker than we expected, and nobody else still was there, so we decided to play the second 9 too.





で、結果がこちら。パー3のコースだったので、Hit-chan、全部のホールを1桁スコアで回れました。上出来、上出来。
Here's our score. It was par3 course, so I could finish under 10 on all the holes. That's good enough for me!




朝から気持ちの良い運動ができた後は、一旦パパママの家に戻って次の予定の準備をしました。
After we had the great refreshing exercise in the morning, we drove back to Dad&Mom's house to get things ready for our next plan.





こうやって、夫婦2人ともゴルフできるようにめいを見ていてくれたママに感謝です。
Again, I really appreciate Mom for babysitting May-chan so that both of Andy and I could play golf together.





ちょっと長くなりそうなので、今日はここで終わる事にします。
Okay, it's going to be a little long to write the rest of the day here. So, I'll end this here today.

今年のイースター・その2 (Easter 2019 vol.2)

Hi there!




皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going in your life?




Hit-chanはミネソタも暖かくなって嬉しいんですが、その代わり花粉症の季節に入り、毎日鼻水と格闘しております。(笑)
Here in MN, it's got very warmer, and I'm super happy about it. Though, I've been fighting with my runny nose because of pollen allergy everyday instead. Grr...




幸い、目や喉が痒くなったりはせず、とにかくくしゃみと鼻水との闘いだけで、毎年2-3週間くらいで治まるのでマシな方だと思います。
Luckily, my sympton is just sneezy and runny nose, not itchy eyes or throat, and it usually goes away in a couple of weeks in every season. So, I hope that it'll end soon again.




さて、我が家の今年のイースター、大人気美容師のミカちゃんに夫婦共々髪を切ってもらった後、まずはパパママの家に行きました。
So, as for our family's Easter this year, we went to Dad&Mom's house after we got great haircuts from my friend and the super hairstylist, Mika-chan.





ここで、Hit-chanは久しぶりに軽いメイクをして、めいもドレスに着替えました。（この写真ではまだスッピンですが。汗）
At Dad&Mom's, I put a light makeup on for the first time after in a long time and changed May-chan to this cute dress. (I hadn't done makeup in this pic yet thouth.)





この赤いタータンチェックのドレス、スコットランドにいるAndyっちの同僚とその奥さんと娘さんからのプレゼントなんです。ただ、今まで着せる機会がなく、サイズは3ヶ月で少し小さくなっていておむつが丸見えだったので、下にパンツをはかせました。
This very lovely tartan dress is from Andy's co-worker and his wife & daughter in Scotland. I hadn't had a chance to put it on May-chan until the day, and the size was 3months and a litlle bit small on May-chan already, so I made her wear these pants to cover her diaper. Haha.




この同僚の方、Hit-chanはAndyっちから話を聞いているだけなんですが、本当、超の付くほどの良い人で、この方がいるというだけでいつかスコットランドに行ってみたいなぁと思っております。
I've heard a lot about this guy from Andy and even only from the stories Andy told me, he's a super super nice and kind person, and it's enough to make me feel like going to Scotland just to meet him and his family someday.




何故に母娘でおめかししたかと言いますと、この日、Andyっちのパパのおじさんの、なんとなんと、90歳の誕生日パーティーにお呼ばれしていたからなのです。
Anyways, the reason why May-chan and I got dressed up was because we're invited to Dad's uncle's 90th birthday party on that day.





本当、この日はとっても暖かくて、Hit-chanも半袖で十分でした。
It was a very warm day, and I was fine just in a short sleeve shirt.





会場は、おじさんが暮らしている老人ホームのパーティー会場。もう既にたくさんの人が来ていました。
The party was held at the nursing home where the uncle lived. There were already a lot of people gathered.




パーティーにはAndyっちのパパ側の家族や親戚の方が一杯来ていたんですが、正直、Hit-chanにとってはほぼ知らない人ばっかり。
Most of the party guests were Dad's family and relatives, but I didn't know most of them, to be honest.




そう言ったら、Andyっち、「僕だって、半分以上は知らん人ばっかりや。」って言ってました。(笑)
When I mentioned that to Andy, he said, "I even don't know more than the half of them!" LOL





めいを抱っこしてもらってるのが、パパのお姉さんのジーン伯母さん。Hit-chanのシャワーにも来てくれてました。
許可を取っていないので顔を隠していますが、右がこの日の主役、90歳のレナードおじさんです。
Aunt Jean, Dad's sister, held May-chan on the left and she's at my shower too. I covered his face since I didn't ask a permit, but the gentleman on the right is the 90 year old uncle, Leonard.




何が凄いって、90歳というだけでも立派なんですが、レナードおじさん、本当体もしっかりして自分でちゃんと動く事もできますし、何より頭の方もしっかりしていて、初めて会うHit-chan達とも楽しい会話をしてくださいました。めいにも優しく話しかけてくださいました。
What's the most amazing thing was that uncle Leonard was not only physically healthy but also mentally young. It was the first time for us and him to meet each other, but we had a very fun conversation, and he kindly talked to May-chan too.




ママから聞いたんですが、つい最近までアパートで一人暮らしをされていたんですが、自分自身で「これからは老人ホームで暮らす事にする。」と決心されたそうです。
Mom let me know that uncle Leonard was living in an apartment until a very recent time and made the decision to move in the nursing home on his own.





ママも言ってたけど、そうやって自分の気持ちでちゃんと決断されたのが素晴らしい！
I totally agreed with Mom saying that it's super amazing and wonderful that he proavtively could make such an important decision!!





パーティー会場は本当に盛況で、かなりたくさんの人がいて騒がしかったんですが、めいちゃんはこの日もどこ吹く風。大人しくしていてくれました。
The party was really lively and very loud, but May-chan didn't care about the noise or the crowd at all as usual.





今回初めて会わせる事のできたジーン伯母さんにもたくさん抱っこしてもらって良かったです。
I'm so glad that we could introduce May-chan to aunt Jean and have her hold May-chan a lot there too.




2時間ほどパーティーに滞在して、パパママの家に戻りました。
We stayed at the party about for 2 hours and drove back to Dad&Mom's house.






イベント事でパパママの家に家族で集まる時、いつも素敵な花を用意してくれています。今回はチューリップ。春らしいですねぇ。
Every time our family gathers at Dad&Mom's house for an event, they display pretty flowers on the table. This time, they got tulips which brought the spring smell in the house.





今年のイースターディナーは、パーティーに参加して忙しかった事もあり。。。
We made the Easter dinner very casual and easy since we're busy for the party. So...,





ピザをオーダーしました。
Pizza!





それでも、ママがデビルドエッグ（ゆでたまごを半分に切って、マヨネーズなどで味付けした黄身を穴の所に入れるお料理）と。。。
Still, Mom kindly made deviled eggs and...





このめっちゃ美味しいサラダを作ってくれてました。ママの妹、キャロル叔母さんからレシピを聞いたそうなんですが、めちゃ旨！作ってあった80%はHit-chanが食べちゃいました。
this very delicious salad for us! The recipe was from aunt Carol (Mom's sister) and it was just amazing! I ate 80% of the entire bowl by myself. Hehe.





で、夕食の後は皆TVを見てのんびり過ごしました。
After the dinner, we just chilled out watching TV.




という訳で、今年のイースターの様子・その2はこんな感じで過ぎていきました！

今年のイースター・その1 (Easter 2019 vol.1)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going?




さて、4月21日（日）はイースターでした。
So, April 21st was Easter.




我が家では、毎年イースターは家族で集まってのんびりゆっくり過ごすんですが、今年は結構イベント盛りだくさんなイースターになりました。
Our family ususally gathers on Easter and has a nice food and cozy time together, but this year was very eventful.




まず、イースター前日の土曜日の朝、Andyっちが「髪を切りたいなぁ。」と言っていたので、またお友達のみかちゃんに切ってもらう事にしました。
First off, Andy had been saying "I want a haircut soon.", so we made an appointment with my friend, Mika-chan on the morning of Saturday, the day before Easter.




みかちゃんの働いているお店はパパママの家からすぐなのですが、イースターでパパママの家で過ごす予定だったのでちょうど良いやん！と思って、イースター前日の土曜日の朝に行ってきました。
The salon where Mika-chan works is very close to Dad&Mom's house, so it was very convenient for us to get a haircut on the Saturday since we're going to stay over at their house on the Easter weekend.





この日も良いお天気～！
It was nice out that day!





まずはHit-chanから。前回は結構な長さを切ってもらったんですが、今回は前回から時間がそれ程経っていなかったので、襟足を1インチくらい切ってそろえてもらいました。
I went first. On the last time, my hair was very long, and I asked Mika-chan to cut quit a bit, but it hadn't been so long since then this time, so I asked her to cut about 1 inch on the back neckline.

で、いつものようにみかちゃんと楽しいおしゃべりをしながら切ってもらい。。。
Just as always, I had a lot of fun with chatting to Mika-chan while she's cutting my hair.

スッキリしました。
Very refreshing!




前回はまだ産後の毛が抜け始める前で、もともと髪の量が多いHit-chanは、みかちゃんに、
I originally had a big volume of hair and didn't start losing my hair yet when I had my haircut last time, so Mika-chan was saying,





「今まで切った中でトップ3の髪の多さに入るよ～。」
"You're in the top 3 of the most volume of hair that I've ever cut!"




と言われていたんですが、今回は、
but this time, she said




「うん、髪が少なくなってるのが分かる！」

"Yeah, I can tell that you've lost a lot of hair!"




と言われるくらい、やっぱり髪の量に変化があったようです。
Yup, I've been losing lots of hair every single day!!! (FYI, many women lost hair in the postpartum time.)




みかちゃん、Hit-chanの分け目とか生え際とか、ちょっと薄くなったのが目立つ場所を頑張ってスタイリングして目立たないようにしてくれました。（ありがと～！）
So, Mika-chan tried hard to make my hair look more voluminous by adjusting the part or hairline. Thanks!





この日ももちろんめいも一緒です。相変わらず大人しく待っていてくれます。
Yup, we brought May-chan with us too so that she could say to Mika-chan! May-chan was so calm and nice while waiting for us as usual.

この日はイースターの前日もあってか、みかちゃん大人気で大忙し！！！
Like I said, it was the day before Easter and Mika-chan was super busy!!




Hit-chan達が切ってもらっている間にもひっきりなしに指名の電話が入って、お店にもみかちゃん指名のお客さんがたくさん来られてました。
While Andy and I were having our haircuts, they kept getting phone calls to request Mika-chan, and also more people were coming in to see if Mika-chan was available too.




みかちゃんのカットの技術はしっかりしてるし、お話も楽しいし、皆切ってもらいたいと思うよねー。
Mika-chan's such a fun girl and has great cutting skills, so it totally makes sense that everyone wants her to do their haircut.






最後はそんなカリスマ美容師にもめいを抱っこしてもらってパチリ！
May-chan was held by such a super hair stylist after our haircuts.




しかも、みかちゃんからめいにお祝いまでいただいて、何だか至れり尽くせりでしたよ。
What's more is that Mika-chan gave May-chan a card and gift too!!! How sweet she is!!




そんな訳で、我が家の今年のイースター、こんな感じで気分も髪もスッキリして始まりました。みかちゃん、ありがとうね～！
Okay, this was how our Easter started this year! Thanks to Mika-chan's amazing haircuts, we could have a great start! Arigatou, Mika-chan!!

離乳食始めました。(Started solid food)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going?




Hit-chanは元気です。
Mine is going great.



さて、この前めいの4ヶ月検診を受けた時に、担当の先生から「もう離乳食始めても大丈夫ですよ。」という言葉をもらっていたので、早速始めてみる事にしました。
So, when our daughter, May-chan, had her 4month check up, her doctor said "You can start giving her solid food." So, why not? Andy and I just decided to start it.



記念すべき最初の離乳食ですが、やっぱり日本人なのでお粥にする事にしました。
It's very memorable and special to feed May-chan solid food for the first time, and I picked rice porridge as her first food since it's very familiar for me as a Japanese.



ネットで10倍粥のレシピを探して、早速作ってみました。
I googled some recipes of very soft porridge and refered to one of them.





早くできる、炊いたご飯で作る方法にしました。
You can make it from uncooked rice, but I did it with cooked rice since it's way quicker.




蓋をずらして煮るという工程があったんですが、このお鍋に蓋が付いていないのでアルミホイルで代用。
The recipe said "cook it with a lid halfway on the pot", but there's no lid for the pot, so I substituted aluminum foil for it.





そんでもって、またまたお友達の新米ミネソタンさんにいただいた離乳食セットがあったので、それを使いました。（いつもありがと！）
Again, my gengerous Japanese friend gave me this set of solid food tools, so I used them. Thanks again!




裏ごしして完成。
After the porridge was done, I strained it too.




多めに作ったので、氷の作る容器に入れて冷凍しました。
I coocked more than 1 serving at once, so I put it in the ice cube tray and froze it.




記念すべき最初の離乳食はAndyっちにも立ち会ってもらって、動画にも残す事にしました。
Again, it was a precious memorable moment for us to see May-chan eating her first solid food, so I asked Andy to be with us and shoot a video too.




10倍粥ですが、それでも結構トロトロしていたので、少し水を足して、ほぼほぼ水のような食感になるように調節しました。
It's very soft porridge already, but the pulp looked still a little too thick for May-chan, so I added some more water to make it almost like liquid.





4/15/19 First solid food 1（初めての離乳食10倍粥）



文字通り、生まれて初めてのスプーンでの食事＆お米の味なので、とりあえずどういう反応をするか様子をみる程度で良いと思っていたんですが、思ったよりも興味を持ってくれたので成功と呼んで良いかなぁと思います。
Literally, it was the very first time for May-chan to be fed with a spoon and taste the flavor of rice, so I thought that it would be enough to see how she would react to the new experience. So, I'd call it success because she seemed to be very interested in being fed with spoon and like the flavor of rice too.




その後も毎日1度だけ離乳食をトライしており、離乳食から栄養を摂るというよりもお米の味やスプーンの練習を目的にしているんですが、日に日にスプーンから上手に食べられるようになってきました。（あげる側のHit-chanも上手くなってきたのもあります。）
Since then, I've given her solid food once a day every day, and the purpose is mainly making her to practice eating food with a spoon and getting used to the flavor of rice. Thankfully, she's been getting better and better with a spoon day by day. (I've been getting better to feed her with a spoon too.)




これを書いている今日、とっても上手に食べる事ができて、めい本人も本当に嬉しそうにしていました。
Today when I'm writing this, she actually could eat it very well and seemed so happy.



半分日本人の血が流れているのもあってか、お米の味も結構気に入ってくれて、日本人のママは嬉しい限りです。
As a Japanese mom, I'm very glad to see my half Japanese daughter love rice too.




この先、色んな野菜もあげたりして、世の中の美味しいものを一杯覚えて欲しいなぁと思っています。
From now on, I want to try to start giving her veggies and more and do hope that she'll get to know a lot of delicious food in the world.

初めての打ちっぱなし(May-chan's first driving range)

どもども。
Hello everyone!



皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your life treating you?




こちらミネソタ、暖かくなったと思ったら一度スノーストームで裏切られましたが、その後また順調に暖かくなってきました。
Here in MN, after we thought that the spring had come, the big snow storm betraid us, and then it's getting warmer again.




先日、我が家のお天気チェック係のAndyっちが、
The other day, Andy who's kind of in charge of checking the weather said,




「今週の水曜日はとっても良いお天気になるから、皆で打ちっぱなしに行こう！」
"This Wednesday is gonna be so nice, so what about going to driving range?"




と提案してくれました。
Yup, that's an amazing idea!




なので、その日、Andyっちが仕事から帰ってきてから、私達のお気に入りのゴルフ場にある打ちっぱなしに行ってきました。
So, we went to the driving range at our favorite golf course after Andy's back home from work on Wednesday.





こんな感じでとっても良い天気です。
It's very nice out like this.




この日、どこかの学校のグループも打ちっぱなしに来ていたので、かなりの盛況具合でしたが、打っていた男の子が親切にも場所を譲ってくれました。
On the day, there were a couple of kids groups from school and the driving range was super busy, but one kind boy yielded his spot for us.





もちろん、めいも一緒です。
Of course, we brought May-chan with us.





Hit-chanも準備万端！
I'm ready to go!



ゴルフ場で一緒にカートに乗ったりするのはまだ無理ですが、打ちっぱなしだとこうやって地面にカーシートを置いておけるので、私たちが練習をしている間、めいは日向ぼっこする事ができます。
Needless to say, May-chan is too young to come along with us on course yet, but at driving range, we can put her car seat on the ground and let her enjoy the sunshine while we hit balls.



で、この日、ちょうど良い機会だと思って、先日買ったこれを使ってみました。
Oh yeah, the sunny day was actually a good opportunity for me to try this which I bought some days before.

え～っとですね、このメッシュのカバーですが、付けた直後に強い日差しがカバーを通してめいの顔に入ったんですが、はい、めっちゃ眩しそうにしました。(笑)
So, my feedback for this mesh cover is that..., oh well..., when I put this cover on the car seat, the bright light went straight to May-chan's fave through the cover. And yes, she seemed so uncomfortable with the light and turned her face to the side. Haha.





ある程度の日差しはカバーできると思うのですが、やっぱり強い日差しだと防ぎきれないようです。（汗）
I assume that the cover can protect your baby from some sunshime for sure, but it can't be good enough for very bright light.





なので、こんな感じでいつものカバーで防いでいたんですが。。。
So, I used my usual cover to protect her from the bright sunshine, but...




この日はかなり暖かい！！！　
it was super warm that day!!!




というか、暑い！！！
Yeah, I'd rather call it hot!!!





ダディも半袖です。寒がりのHit-chanさえも半袖で十分なくらいの暖かさです。
Andy's in T-shirt as usual, but it was warm enough for me, a very freezing person, to feel like being just in T-shirt too.





めいも暑そうにしていたんで、カバーも外しました。
May-chan looked too warm in the cover, so I took it off.




この後、カバーを外してもまだ暑そうだったので、上半身のジッパーを外して肌着だけにさせました。
Even after I took the cover off, she still seemed so warm, so I ended up opening up the zipper of the upper half of her outfit since she had an inner shirt inside.




途中、カーシートから出たがったので、抱っこしながら外の空気や景色を楽しみました。
We also took her out from the car seat and enjoyed the fresh air and refreshing view sometimes because she looked to want to be outside.




いやぁ、こうやって暖かい季節になると、家族でできる外でのアクティビティが増えるので本当に嬉しいです。
Again, it's really nice that we can do more outdoor activities as a family like this.




もうちょっと大きくなったら、家族3人で一緒にゴルフできるのが今から楽しみです！（ゴルフ好きになってくれるか分からんけどね。笑）
I really look forward to playing golf together on a course with all of us when she gets old enough. (I'm not sure if she'll be into golf though.Haha)
