レイチェルのお宅訪問 (Visit Rachel's House)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing lately?





長らく更新していませんでしたが、Hit-chan、最近お仕事が忙しくってなかなかブログを書く時間が取れませんでした。
I haven't updated my blog for a while because I've been so busy at work and couldn't have any time and energy to write a new article.




まだまだこれからも忙しい日が続きそうなんですが、何とか9月の日本帰国を励みに頑張っていきたいと思います。
it's still going to keep pretty busy, but I'll try to hang in there until the trip to Japan in September.




さて、前回の記事で書いたBBQパーティーに来られなかったレイチェル、先日彼女がママと住んでいるお宅にお呼ばれしていきました。
So, I want to write about the day that I visited my friend, Rachel's house today. She couldn't make it to the BBQ party since she was sick.






レイチェルのお宅に着くと、愛犬ガンサーがお迎えしてくれました。（ガンサー、めちゃ大きくて、体重、Hit-chanとほぼ変わらないのです。笑)
When I got to the front door, one of her lovely dogs, Gunther, welcomed me. (Gunther is so big and almost as heavy as me!)






もう一匹の愛犬、レヴィーも歓迎してくれましたよ。
Levi welcomed me too!






前回のパーティーの時には体調を崩していたレイチェル、すっかり元気になっていて良かったです。
I'm so glad that she's been back to normal and seemed pretty well.






レイチェル、陶芸家なので、お家にもたくさん彼女の作品が。（右３つが彼女の作品らしいです。）
Actually, Rachel is a potter, so there are lots of her work in her house. (The 3 on the right are her works.)







この棚に置いてあるほとんどの物も。。。
Most on the dishes on the shelf and...






アイスコーヒーを入れてくれたこのマグも。。。
the mug she served ice coffee in for me and...






サラダを入れてくれたこのボウルも、全部彼女の作品です。（一から何かを作れる人を尊敬します。）
also the bowl she used for salad are all her works. (I'm so impressed by someone who can create something from scratch.)






彼女のママのお宅には素敵なパティオがありまして、スクリーンが貼ってあるので蚊の心配もありません。
Her house has a wonderful patio with screen, so we didn't have to worry about bugs.






ランチタイム！
It's lunch time!





日頃不摂生なので、久しぶりに野菜を一杯食べれて満足でした。
I don't eat veggies so much, so it was very nice for me to have such a healthy and tasty lunch.





Hit-chanはデザート担当だったので、チョコムースを持って行きました。
（レイチェルのママの分も持って行ったら、めちゃくちゃ喜んでくれました。）
I made chocolate mousse and she loved it.
(I also brought one for her mom and she loved it too!)





で、前回のパーティーで渡せなかった誕生日プレゼント＆カードを渡して。。。
I couldn't give her a BD present on the BBQ party, so I handed a card and the present to her.





愛犬ガンサーとレヴィ―の写真で作ったカスタムマグ、めちゃ喜んでくれましたよ。
I actually customized a mug with some pictures of Gunther and Levi. She really liked it.





で、Hit-chanのお誕生日プレゼントを渡しそびれていたとの事で、この５つの作品から好きなのを持って帰って良いよと言ってくれました。
She said that she missed to give me a BD present and let me choose one from these 5 works as a BD present for me.





Hit-chanは既にマグはたくさん持っているので、左から3つ目の小さめのカップというか一輪挿しというか、何でも使えそうな可愛らしいものをいただきました。
I already have tons of mugs, so I chose the small mug, the 3rd one from the left, because I can use it as a small glass, a vase or whatever.





久しぶりに近況を話し合って、とっても楽しい時間を過ごしました。
I'm so glad that we could catch up with many things and chat about fun things together.





ぜひぜひもっと会おうねという事で、早速来週にランチの予定を入れました。
We said we should hang out more often, so we already set up a lunch date next week.





という事で、Hit-chanの近況でした！
Anyways, this is about another fun day with my friend!!

BBQ＆お誕生日＆おめでとう会、その２（BBQ&BD&Congrats Party, vol.2)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going today?




Hit-chanは元気ですよ！
My life is going pretty well.




さて、今日は昨日の続きです。
Okay, here's the rest of the party.





お腹いっぱいになった後は皆でお日様を感じながら、ゲームをして遊びました。
After we had lots of food, we played a game under the sunshine.




今回のパーティーですが、Hit-chan、実は色々と企画しておりました。
Actually, I was secretly planning of some things for this party.




というのも、6月にはアレックス、フランキー、レイチェルのお誕生日があり、実はキャットとアレックス、この度良いお仕事が見つかり、カリブーを退職する事になったんです。
In fact, Alex, Franki and Rachel's birthdays are in June and also Kat and Alex are leaving Caribou for better opportunities.




なので、この色々な事を一気にお祝いしたくてですねぇ、Hit-chan、ちょっとした物を用意していました。
So, I just wanted to celebrate everything at once and prepped some things for that.




まずは、前もってデザート担当に立候補して、ケーキを作りましたよ。
First off, I told everyone that I was going to make a dessert and made a cake.





パーティー前夜に作りました。
In the evening before the party day, I finished it.




実はこのパーティーの週はめちゃくちゃ忙しくて、Hit-chanフラフラだったんですが、何とか気合いで完成させました。
To be honest, the week of this party was super hectic and tiring, so I barely made the cake with the last drop of my energy.





チョコレートムースケーキで、ホワイトチョコで文字を書くのにも初挑戦でした。（ちゃんと読めるように書けて良かった。。。）
I made a chocolate mousse and that was my first try to draw a message with white chocolate. (I'm so glad that I could make it readable.)





皆、喜んでくれましたよ。
Everyone loved both the looking and the taste.




3人それぞれにカードを渡しまして、バースデーボーイ＆ガールの2人は。。。
I gave 3 of them a card and also for the birthday boy&girl.





プレゼントを用意しました。
I got presents too.





バイキングス（ミネソタのフットボールチーム）ファンのアレックスには、お隣ウィスコンシンのチーム＆バイキングスのライバルチームでAndyっちの好きなパッカーズのラッピングペーパーに包んだプレゼント。(笑)
For a Vikings fan, Alex, we wrapped his present with a packers wrapping paper. (Packers is Andy's favorite team.) Haha.





中身はアレックスの好きなバイキングのグラス。（アレックスは実家からアパートに引っ越したばかりなので、キッチン用品が良いかなぁと思って。）
The present itself was "Vikings" beer glasses. (He just moved into an apartment, so we thought some kitchen stuff would be good for him.)





我が家でのポーカーパーティーをいっつも楽しみにしてくれてるフランキーには。。。
Franki loves our poker party, so...






カスタムメイドしたマグカップ。ポーカーチップ、ロイヤルストレートフラッシュの手札、フランキー愛用のタバコの箱の写真を撮って使いました。
I customized a mug cup for her. I put a picture of poker chips, Loyal Flush hand and her favorite tobacco box.





あと、文字も入れられたので、フランキーが好んでカリブーの店内のあらゆる場所に書き残していた、“Franki was here."という言葉を選びました。
Also, I could put a message on it, so I put "Franki was here..." since she wrote it everywhere at our Caribou store.





実はフランキー、今まで将来の人生設計について色々と悩んでいたんですが、最近ついに空軍に入ることを決断したんです。
Actually, she had been thinking about life plan for a while, but recently determined to join Air Force.






なので、今までのようにすぐには会えなくなるけれど、帰って来た時はいつでもポーカーパーティーを開いて歓迎するからという意味で、“Franki was here..."の後に“And will be back soon..."という言葉を付け足しました。
Since that, it's going to be harder for us to meet up like now, but I wanted to tell her that we'll always welcome host a poker party for her whenever she comes back. So, I also added this line "And will be back soon..." after "Franki was here..."




フランキーもアレックスも喜んでくれて本当に良かったです。
I'm so happy that Franki and Alex loved the presents.





こうやって、皆それぞれ人生の岐路に立って色々な選択をしていく訳ですが、こんな風に出会えて、一時期一緒に働いたという事は凄く幸運な事だなぁと思います。
Like now, everybody is making decisions on their turning points of life, but I feel so lucky and want to appreciate that we could meet and work together at one point of our lives.





これからもちゃんと機会を作って、皆と楽しい時間を過ごせるようにしていきたいと思います。
I'd still like to try to make a time and chance for everyone to gather and have fun together from now as well.

BBQ＆お誕生日＆おめでとう会、その１（BBQ&BD&Congrats Party. vol.1)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




Hit-chanは元気ですよ。
I'm doing well.




あっという間に夏がやってきましたねぇ。
The summer is here now!




以前に100歳以上の方にインタビューをしている番組があったんですが、全員が全員、「若い時よりも今の方が時間が過ぎるのが早い。」と言ってらっしゃいました。
I heard the interview with people over 100 years old on TV before and everyone was saying "I feel time's passing quicker than when I was younger."




という事は、これからもっと、一日一日が早く感じるようになるはずで、それなら一層、毎瞬毎瞬を楽しんでいきたいなぁと思う今日この頃です。
Then, my days are going to feel passing by quicker and quicker from now, so I want to enjoy every single moment more and more than I am now.




さて、6月のある週末、我が家でパーティを催しました。
So, on one weekend of June, we had a party at our house.






メンバーいつもの通り。（キャット＆トム、アレックス、フランキー、ブラッド君）
We invited usual members. (Kat&Tom, Alex, Franki and Brad)





レイチェルも来る予定だったんですが、残念ながら体調を崩しちゃって参加できなくなってしまいました。
We invited Rachel too, but she unfortunately got sick and couldn't make it.






Hit-chanはハンバーグのパティをせっせと作ります。
I made hamburger patties.






アレックスは昔Al&Alma'sで働いていたので、その時覚えたチーズブレッドを作ってくれました。
Alex made cheese bread which he learned when he was working at Al&Alma's.





アレックスの働いていたAl＆Alma'sですが、AndyっちとHit-chanの最初のマイホームから3分くらいの所にあったので、何度か行った事がありました。その時の記事はこちら。
Al＆Alma's is actually located only 3 mins away from our first house, so we've been there some times before.






焼き係はうちのGrill Man、Andyっちが担当。（Andyっち、さりげなくピースサインしてる。笑)
Of course, my Grill Man takes care of the grill part. (He is making a peace sigh in this pic too!)






ご覧の通り、めちゃ良いお天気でしたよ。
As you see, it was very nice out that day.





アレックスが作ってくれたチーズブレッド。旨し。
This is Alex's cheese bread. So Tasty.





キャットはこのサラダとグアカモレとチップスを持参してくれました。
Kat brought this salad and guacamole&chips too.





ハンバーガーのパティ完成。
Patties are ready.





肝心のハンバーガー完成写真は撮り忘れたものの、とっても美味しくいただきましたよ。
I forgot to take a picture of my burger, but it was delicious as usual.

捨てられない男 (The Man Who Cherishes Too Many Things)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going today?




Hit-chanは相変わらずですよ。
I'm doing well as usual.




このブログでは何度か話をした事があるんですが、Hit-chanの愛する夫、Andyっちは片付けられない男なのですが、それに加えて物を捨てられない男でもあります。
I have talked about this here several times before, but my loving hubby, Andy, is not good at organizing things and besides that, he can't throw things away well.




先日、人を招く予定があったので、Hit-chan、家のお掃除をしてしました。
The other day, since we're going to have a party with our friends, I was cleaning our house.




そしたら、リビング（絨毯）の端っこから、こんなものが出てきました。
Then, I found this in the living room.





はい、ジップロックに入った石です。(笑)
Yeah, it's rocks in a Ziplock.




誰のって、Andyっちのに決まってるんです。
Whose ones? Of course, my hubby, Andy's.





うちのAndyっち、何でも残して置きたい人なので、この石達もおそらく何か思い出の品であることは間違いありません。
Andy is a person who wants to keep a lot of things as his precious memories and I'm sure these rocks are also one of those too.





別にね、Hit-chanとしてもね、石が好きで集めてもらっても別に嫌ではないんです。
I actually don't mind him liking and collecting rocks or what not.





ただね、結婚してほぼ5年、Hit-chan、一度もAndyっちがこの石を取り出している所を目撃した事が無いんですよ。
Though, for the 5 years of our marriage, I've never seen him taking these rocks out and cherishing them at all.





Andyっち、そんな感じで本当に色々なものを残したがるんです。
Like that, he wants to keep a lot of things.





着古した服も「これはボロ布として使うから。」と言って取って置くのですが、明らかにボロ布としての使用頻度が少なく、次から次へとボロ布が増えて行く訳です。
He even wants to keep his worn-out clothes by saying "I'll use them as a rag!", but we keep getting new rags much more frequently than the usage, so we end up owning tons of rags.





服の数も明らかにHit-chanよりも多く、小さくて着られない服も「痩せた時に着られるかもしれへんし。」とか言って、まぁ、捨てません。
Andy owns clothes more than I do and he doesn't want to throw away ones which won't fit him anymore by saying "When I lose my weight, I might need them."






ヨレヨレのTシャツも、「思い出の品やから。」とずっと衣装ケースに入りっぱなしです。
He also says "This is my precious memories." about some worn-out T-shirts and keeps them in a clothes box all year long.




さっきも言ったんですが、Hit-chanとしたら、そんなに思い出があるんだったら額に入れて壁に飾るだとか、一つの箱に入れて時々愛でてあげるとかすれば良いのにと思うのですが、Andyっちとしたら、持っているという事実だけでもう満足のようです。
Like I said before, if he really keeps something as his memory, I don't mind it at all, but I wonder why he doesn't hang it up on a wall in a frame or something or put everything precious together in one box so that he can see them anytime he wants to. Though, he's satisfied with just owning those things itself.





ただね、Andyっち基準で物を持ち続けてしまうと、我が家はいくら大きくてもゴミ屋敷になってしまいます。
Then, if he keeps all of those things he wants to keep, our house will never be big enough. (It's going to be a hoarding house!!)





だけど、Hit-chanが明らかに要らんやろうと判断して「これ要るの？」と聞いても、それをキッカケに今まで存在さえ忘れていたであろう記憶を呼び覚ましてしまって、本人は「要る！！」という事になりかねません。（爆）
I have tried to get rid of his things sometimes before and asked him "Do you wanna keep this?" Then, he always answered "Yeah!" though he seemed to have forgotten about that until I asked him.





なので、「もうこれは絶対要らんやろ！！」という物は、Hit-chanが代わりに色々捨てていってあげようと思います。(笑)
So, I guess I should discard his unnecessary-looking things for him without asking him. Haha.





そうそう、先日の洗濯戦争？ですが、結局、Hit-chanが３つになった洗濯物の山に耐えられなくなって、一気に洗って畳んでしまいました。
Oh, speaking of laundry war? that I wrote here the other day, I ended up not being able to stand the 3 big piles of his laundry and did everything by myself.




結局のところ、Andyっちも片付いた家の方が居心地が良く、Hit-chanがお掃除する度に「部屋を綺麗にしてくれてありがとう！」と感謝の言葉をくれます。
After all, Andy also likes an organized and clean house anyways and he always appreciates and says "Thank you so much for cleaning our house!!" when I did cleaning.





Hit-chan基準で断捨離をしていく事で我が家の平和は保たれるようですな。(笑)
So, I should take the role to keep our house clean for our peaceful and calm life、anyways. Haha.






という訳で、今日は愛する夫、Andyっちのお話でした。（Andy、またネタにしてゴメンちょ。いつも一生懸命働いてくれてありがとう。）
Anyways, this is more about my loving hubby. (Sorry, honey-chan, I wrote about you again. I really appreciate you for working hard everyday. Love you!!)

アーティスティックなトイレ (Artistic Bathroom)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




さて、今日は小ネタなんですが、うちの母、ここ数年で曼荼羅というものを習い、今では他の方に教えるという事をしています。
Today's topic is kind of small, but my mother in Japan learned point and circle drawing a few years ago and now she teaches it to others.

でね、2年前に一時帰国した時かな、Hit-chanの為に曼荼羅を描いてくれたんです。
When I went back to Japan 2 years ago, she drew one for me.




で、今の今まで玄関に置いてあるテーブルの上に立てかけてあったんですけど、先日思い立って額を購入しました。
I'd put it on a table by our front door, but I recently came up with buying a frame for that.




で、折角なので、ゲストの方も利用するトイレに飾る事にしました。
And, I decided to hang it on the wall in our guest bathroom.











いやぁ、満足、満足。（Hit-chanが頑張って写真撮ってるのが映ってるね。笑)
It looks pretty good there. (The glass reflects me taking the picture.Haha)




我が家のトイレがより、アーティステックになりましたよ。
Our guest bathroom become more artistic thanks to my mother's work.





お母さん、ありがとうね～。
Thanks, mom!!
