4th of July Vacation 2024, Day2 2/2

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today? 

 

 

 

さて、前回の記事に引き続き、我が家の夏バケーション2日目、後半戦の様子をお届けしたいと思います。
Continuing from the last article, let me share my family's summer vacation here today. This is about the 2nd half of Day 2. 

 

 

 

バケーション1日目も大雨に見舞われたんですが、この日も所々小雨のお天気ではありましたが、それ以外の時間は青空の広がる気持ちの良いお天気でした。
We got a heavy rain on Day 1 of this vacation and also got some shower occasionally on Day 2. Still, most of the day, you could see the sun and blue sky, which was very pleasant.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

パティオでのランチでテンション上げ上げになったHit-chanとめい、そのままのテンションでお外遊びに移行しました。
Ma-chan and I really enjoyed having light lunch on the patio and then we decided to play outdoor. 

 

 

 

パパママ宅のドライブウェイから公道に続くこの小道、綺麗なんですが、蚊の楽園でもあるので、中々近づけません。(笑)
The driveway from Dad&Mom's house to a public street. It's very neat and beautiful in the woods and makes you feel like walking through it, but it's also a mosquito paradise in summer which keeps you away from. LOL

 

 

 

なので、今日もドライブウェイでチョークアート。
（めいに頼まれて書いた、ちょっと丸顔のエルサ。笑）
So, we gave up walking through the woods and enjoyed drawing on the driveway with chalks instead. 
(May-chan asked me to draw Elsa and I did my best and made this round-faced queen. Haha) 

めい画伯もこのお天気の下、創作意欲が刺激されたようで、次々とディズニープリンセスを生み出していきます。
（これは、オーロラ姫ね。）
The artist, May-chan, got lots of inspiration in the sun and created Disney princesses one after another. 
(This one is Princess Aurora, FYI.) 

 

 

 

そして、これは白雪姫。ちゃんと右手にリンゴを持っているよ。
This one is Snow White. She's holding an apple too. 

 

 

 

それから、これは誰かわかるかな？
Can you guess who this one is?

 

 

 

一心不乱に頭に浮かぶイメージを形にしております。
She's very focused on her project and trying to visualize an image in her head. 

 

 

 

じゃじゃーん！答えはラプンツェルでございました。
Ta-da!! She's Rapunzel!!

 

 

で、この4人目の美女と野獣のベルを創作している途中、また雨が降り出しまして、家の中に退散～。
（携帯でイラスト検索して、その画像を見ながら書いております。）
When Artist, May-chan, was working on her 4th project, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, it started raining. So, we walked back in the house. 
(I googled some images of Belles and she's trying to copy them.) 

 

 

 

その後、3時過ぎに皆がゴルフから戻ってきて、4時過ぎに予約をしていたレストランに出発！
Around 3 pm, everybody got back home from golf and then we headed out to the fancy restaurant for dinner. 

 

 

 

いつもよりちょっとお洒落をして、意気揚々とお腹を空かせてお店に向かっていたんですが、ここで予想外の事態。
We all got dressed up better than usual and excited with empty stomachs for yummy food in the car. Then, this happened. 

 

 

 

何と何と、めいさんが車中でいきなり嘔吐！がびーん！
Believe or not, May-chan suddenly threw up in the car!! Holy moly!!

 

 

 

我が家だけ急遽Uターンして、めいをお風呂に入れ、パジャマを着せてベッドに寝かせ、汚れた服やチャイルドシートのカバーの洗濯をAndyっちと手分けしてやりました。
（パパママとブラッド君にはそのまま食事を楽しんできてもらうように伝えました。）
We were driving to the restaurant by 2 separate cars (3 of us/Dad&Mom and Brad), so only 3 of us made a quick U-turn back to Dad&Mom's house. Andy and I made a good team to give May-chan a bath, put her pajamas and lay her in bed. We also had to wash her cloths, child seat covers too. 
(We told Dad&Mom and Brad to go ahead to enjoy the special dinner as planned.) 

 

 

車に乗るまでいつもと全く変わらない様子だったのに、急な体調不良でビックリ。
We're so surprised by May-chan's sudden illness since she had been just as well as normal until the last minute. 

 

 

 

ただ、熱もないし、お腹が空っぽになったら体調が良くなったようで、「白いご飯やったら食べれると思う。」というので、急遽ご飯を炊きました。
（ママが日本のお米をストックしてくれてて助かった～！）
Still, she wasn't running a fever or something and seemed much better after her stomach got empty. "I think I can eat white rice." she told me, so I made her rice. 
(I'm so grateful that Mom stocked some Japanese rice! What a life saver!!) 

 

 

で、出すもの出したらお腹が空いたようで、早速ご飯を食べております。
She must have got very hungry after she took everything out of her belly and started vigorously diggin in the ball.

 

 

 

朝からほとんど食べていなかった空腹のAndyっちが、いつものピザ屋さんでHit-chanの分の食事も調達してきてくれました。
Andy was so starving since he hadn't eaten much since the morning for the special dinner, so he went to grab our dinner from our usual pizza place. Thanks!!

 

 

 

Andyっちはもちろんピザ。
Andy got this pizza as usual.

 

 

Hit-chanもいつものカシューチキンサラダと。。。
I also got my usual, this Cashew Chicken Salad. 

 

 

 

ガーリックが効いたブレッドスティックをお願いしました。
Besides my usual salad, I also got this garlic bread sticks. 

 

 

 

驚いた事に、この人、この量のご飯4杯も平らげました。
A good surprise was that she actually ate 4 bowls of white rice!!!

 

 

ご飯を食べた後は、すっかり元気になっていつもと変わらない様子で、ベッドにもいつもの時間に行ったんですが、一体何が原因だったんでしょうねぇ。
After she finished eating, she seemed just as normal and went to bed at her regular bed time. We just don't know what made her sick. 

 

 

 

本人曰く、「野菜をちゃんと噛まずにゴックンしたから、オエってしちゃった。」との事でしたが、ランチから嘔吐まで結構なタイムラグがあったのになぁ。
"I didn't chew the vegetables well and threw them up." May-chan was saying, but there was a certain amount of time between the lunch time and the incident.

 

 

熱も出てないし、嘔吐したらすっかり元気になったし、恐らく食べ合わせが悪かったからかなぁと思っています。
She didn't run fever and got back to normal after the vomit, so I assume that food combination or something was bad for her. 

 

 

 

という訳で、予想外の事でちょっとあたふたしてしまいましたが、総合的には素敵な一日が過ごせて良かったです。
Okay, this is how we spent the 2nd half of Day 2 of the vacation. Overall, we had a great day!
