How's your day going today? 

 

 

 

今日もひとり帰国日記でございます。
OKay, let me talk about my Japan trip here again. 

 

 

 

2月3日、節分の日。
On February 3rd, Setsubun day in Japan. What's is Setsubun?

 

 

 

特に「この日行こう！」と決めた訳ではないのですが、朝起きて結構良いお天気だったので、「今日、今から行く？」と母を誘って、Hit-chanがこの帰国で絶対行きたかった場所に行ってきました。
I had no plans in the morning, but it was such a beautiful day, so "Why don't we?" I decided to go out to this place with my mom where I really had wanted to go on this trip. 

 

 

 

実家の傍からバスに乗って。。。
My mom and I took a bus from by my parents' condo. 

 

 

 

最初はバスを乗り継いで行こうと思っていたけど、時間的にJRの方がスムーズだという事で電車に乗って。。。
We're originally going to transfer to another bus to the destination, but found out that taking a JR train would be more convenient and quick, 

 

 

 

やってきました宇治です。
Here we were! Uji, the city where I was born in. 

 

 

 

母は自分の庭のように行き慣れているので、母の案内で目的地まで向かいました。
My mom often hangs out around this area and knows more, so I followed her to the destination. 

 

 

 

宇治川にかかる橋を渡って行きます。
Walking on the bridge across Uji-river. 

 

 

 

凄く良いお天気でお散歩日和でした。
Again, it was perfect day for a walk!!

 

 

何回も来ていますが、改めて来ると風流な場所ですねぇ。
I'd been to this place so many times, but again this visit reminded me that it was super cool. 

 

 

 

宇治神社
Uji shrine

 

 

大口献灯者の所に、Hit-chanが小さい頃にお世話になった伯父さんの名前がありました。「お、おっちゃんの名前や。」懐かしい気持ちで胸が一杯。
Among the names who made donations to the shrine, I found my uncle's name. "Oh, it my uncle's name!!" and my heart filled with lots of fun memories of my childhood with him. 

 

 

この日は節分だったので、境内では色んなイベントをやっているようでした。
It was Setsubun day, so they're having various events at the shrine. 

 

 

と、次なる目的地へ行こうと出口に向かって歩いていると、さっき大口献灯者の所に名前があったHit-chanの伯父さんが前から歩いてきたんです。
Then, my mom and I were walking toward the next destination, what a surprise and coincidence! My unclue was walking toward us!!!

 

 

 

ついさっきおっちゃんの話をしていた所で、あまりにタイムリーな登場にビックリ！！
We just saw him name on the sign and were talking about him a couple of seconds before. So, we couldn't believe it!!

 

 

 

毎年クリスマスカードは送っているものの、Hit-chanが最後におっちゃんと直接会ったのはもう15年前くらい？？
I send a Christmas card to his family every year, but I think that the last time I saw him in person was probably about 15 years before. 

 

 

 

思わず、「おっちゃん、一緒に写真撮ってもらっても良い？」とお願いしてしまいました。(笑)
I couldn't help asking him, "Hey uncle, can we take a picture together??" LOL

 

 

おっちゃん、この日の節分行事のお手伝いに出ていたみたいで、丁度お昼休憩から戻ってきたところだったそうです。
He was there to volunteer at the event and just came back from his lunch break then. 

 

 

 

Hit-chan、子供の頃からミネソタに引っ越すまでの人生の大半で、それはそれはおっちゃんとおばちゃんに大変お世話になったんです。
From my childhood to right before I moved to MN, I had a lot of support from my uncle and his wife, my aunt. 

 

 

 

なので、日本を離れた後もおっちゃんとおばちゃんの事はずーっと気になっていたので、今回意図せずもおっちゃんと直接会って元気そうな姿を見てめちゃくちゃ嬉しかったです。
Even after I moved to MN, I never forgot about them and was wondering how they were. So, this unexpected encounter was just miraclous and made me super happy to see him doing well in person. 

 

 

 

ちなみにおっちゃん、「いつもブログ見てるで～！」やって。おっちゃんありがとー！！
He was saying, "I'm checking your blog!!" Thank you, Otchan!!

初・永久歯＆歯医者さん (May-chan's 1st permanent tooth & dentist)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going today? 

 

 

 

今日は一旦一ひとり帰国日記を置いといて、我が家の日常をお送りしたいと思います。
So, let me put my Japan diaries aside and share our daily life today. 

 

 

 

さて、タイトルの通りですが、4月の中旬に家族全員揃って歯医者さんに行ってきました。
Just as the title says, all 3 of us went to dentist in the middle of April. 

 

 

 

実は我が家、最後に歯医者さんに定期検診に行ったのはパンデミック前。
To be honest with you, it was the first time for us to go to the dentist for a regular check-up and cleaning since before the pandemic. 

 

 

 

めいちゃんの初日本vol.8 (May-chan's 1st Japan Trip 8) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

この記事に少し書いているんですが、最後に行ったのは2020年の1月末だったみたいです。
I wrote a little bit about the last appointment on this article and it said that it was the end of January in 2020. Wow. 

 

 

 

それ以来、忙しい毎日＆怠惰な性格で予約を取らずにおり、4月に入ってようやく「行かなあかんなぁ～。」と、やっとこさ行動に移しました。
Since then, due to my busy life and lazy nature, I hadn't done any check-ups, but finally I took an action this April. 

 

 

 

めいはHit-chanが最後に歯医者に行った時に一緒に連れて行って、「歯医者さんってこんな所よ。」という感じでツアーをしてもらったのですが、その時はギャン泣きで終わりました。（その時は3歳になってすぐぐらいですね。）
On my last appointment, I took May-chan with me and they gave her a quick introduction tour to show her, "The dentist office is like this!" but she ended up just crying so hard at that time.  (She just turned 3 then.)

 

 

 

でも今回はもう5歳。
Now, she's 5 and a big girl. 

 

 

 

最近はお医者さんごっこ、歯医者さんごっこをするのが大好きなので、「めいちゃん、明日マミーとダディとめいちゃんで一緒に歯医者さん行くよ。」と言ったら、「え、本当！楽しみー！！」と喜んでいました。
She recently loves playing pretending to be a doctor or dentist, so when I told her, "Tomorrow, May-chan, Daddy, Mommy and May-chan are going to a dentist together!", "Really!! I can't wait!!" she was super excited. 

 

 

そして、歯医者さんの予約を入れたタイミングが結構良くて、めいさん、ここ何週間か前に、最初の永久歯が生えて来たんです！
It was actually a good timing for her to go to the dentist since she got her 1st permanent tooth coming in a couple of weeks before. 

 

 

 

ただ、乳歯がグラグラしていないのに、その内側から生えてきているので、一応先生に診てもらいたかったんです。
Though, the baby tooth still sat there firmly, so we wanted the dentist to check if it's fine or not. 

 

 

 

５ヶ月になりました。 (Happy 5months old!) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

ちなみに、めいさん、生後5ヶ月になる2日前に最初の歯が生えて来たんですが、今回の永久歯もやはり、最初に乳歯が生えた場所から生えてきました。人間の体って不思議～！
BTW, the 1st permanent tooth was coming in on the same spot where May-chan got her 1st baby tooth at the age of 5 months, which amazed me! Human bodies are full of wonders!!

 

 

 

予約の日、最初にHit-chanが一人で歯医者さんに行き、クリーニング＆検診をしていました。そして、その途中、Andyっちとめいがやってきました。
For the appointment day, I first went to the dentist office by myself for my check-up and cleaning and while I was being taken cared of, May-chan and Andy came in too. 

 

 

 

Hit-chanがまだ椅子に横になってクリーニングをしてもらっている間、隣の部屋からAndyっちとめいの声が聞こえてきて、「めい、どうやろうなぁ？」と思いながら聞き耳を立てていました。
While I was in the reclining chair and being cleaned my teeth, I heard Andy & May-chan's voices from the next room, which made me wonder, "How's she doing?"  and I was trying to listen to what they're doing. 

 

 

 

最初の方は調子良くやっていたみたいですが、やはり、途中のクリーニングで口の中に水や歯磨き粉のようなペーストが塗られると気持ち悪かったようで、めいの「うわぁぁ。」という声や、Andyっちの「めい、口開けて！」という声も聞こえてきました。(笑)
May-chan was doing well in the beginning, but in the middle of her cleaning, she was so borthered by having the cleaning equipments or rinsing water into the mouth. So, I could hear her saying, "Ahhh....!!!" or Andy saying, "May! Open your mouth!!" LOL

 

 

 

丁度その頃、Hit-chanのクリーニングが終わったので隣の部屋に行くと、歯科助手さんがクリーニングをしてくれていたのですが、めいが顔をしかめて、「I don't like it!!」と言って、口を開けるのを拒否。
（めいさん、歯磨き粉の味にも結構好き嫌いがあるので、もしかするとクリーニング用のペーストの味が嫌いだったのかもしれません。）
My cleaning was just done around the time and went to the next door. I saw that the dental assistant was trying to clean May-chan's teeth, but May-chan was yelling, "I don't like it!!" and  kept her mouth shut.  
(She's actually very picky about flavors of tooth paste in general, so I assume that she didn't like the flavor of the paste for cleaning.)

 

 

 

我が家が行っている歯医者さんは家族フレンドリー。
Anyways, the dentist office was very family friendly. 

 

 

 

なので、めいの様子を見て気を利かせた歯科助手さんが、「オッケー、今日はもうやめよう！！もうおしまい！」と言ってすぐにやめてくれました。
So, the assistant lady quickly stopped what she was trying to do and told May-chan, "Okay, I'll stop it. It's all done for today!!"

 

 

もちろん、虫歯の治療などだったら途中でやめる事はできませんが、今回はクリーニングだったという事、初めての本格的な歯医者さんだったという事で、無理にやらせるよりも、歯医者さんに対して嫌な印象を残さないようにとの配慮だったと思います。（Hit-chanも良い判断だったなぁと思っています。）
Of course, if it was treating a cavity or something, they couldn't stop the operation in the middle, but this time was just cleaning and check-up and also the very first time for May-chan, so she probably thought that it'd be better for May-chan to finish there than leaving the dentist with a bad impression.  (Which I appreciated.) 

 

 

 

その後、先生に歯をチェックしてもらい、問題なし！（永久歯の部分も心配する必要はないとの事でした。）
After the noisy cleaning, May-chan had the dentist check her teeth and there's no problem! 
(She said that we wouldn't have to worry about the spot where the new tooth was coming in.)

 

 

で、ここからがめちゃくちゃアメリカンスタイル。
Then,  the last part of the appointment was a very American style. 

 

 

歯科助手さんがめいのクリーニングを終えた時に、「今日はとっても頑張ったから、ご褒美がもらえるコインを持ってくるね！」と、めいに2枚の金色のコインを持って来てくれました。
"You did such a great job today, so I'll get tokens for you so that you can get a prize!" the dental assistant said to May-chan and brought 2 golden coins. 

 

 

そのコインで通路に置いてあるガチャガチャを2回する事ができました。
At the aisle to the exist, they had this capsule toy machines and May-chan could get 2 prizes there. 

 

 

 

言うまでも無いですが、めいさんは出て来たおもちゃに大興奮しておりました。
Needless to say, but May-chan was super excited by the little toys she got. 

 

 

 

こんな感じで、めいの本格的な歯医者さんの定期検診は「歯医者さんなんて嫌だ！」とならなかったので、まずまずの出来だったのかなぁと思います。
Okay, this is how May-chan went through her very first dentist appointment. At least she didn't say, "I won't go to the dentist again!" or something, so I think that it went well overall. 

 

 

 

次の予約は6ヶ月後。この先の6ヶ月でどれくらい成長してくれるでしょうか？
Our next appointments are in 6 months. Let's see how much May-chan will grop up in the next 6 months.

12 ひとり帰国日記/ママ友誕生会 (Japan Trip Alone 2024 vol.12/BD Party)

Hello folks!

 

 

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today? 

 

 

さて、今日もひとり帰国日記です。
Okay, here's another article of my Japan trip diaries. 

 

 

 

2月2日のこの日、母に誘われて、丁度この日お休みだった妹2スカッチと一緒に、母のママ友達のお誕生会に参加させてもらいました。
On Feb. 2nd, I was invited to my mom's friend's BD party. My sister, Skatch, was off that day, so she came with us too. 

 

 

 

18 日本帰国 2022/母世代のママ友会 (18 Japan Trip 2022/A Party with Mom Friends) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

Hit-chanが生まれる前から知って下さっている母のママ友達の事はこの記事でも書いています。
Ever since even before I was born, my mom's friends had known me. 

 

 

で、今回の誕生日会、ママ友AさんとDさんが2月生まれ、Hit-chanの母が3月生まれという事で、以前から一緒にお祝いする約束をしていたそうです。
My mom's friends,  A-san and D-san were born in February and my mom's BD was March, so they planned this BD party together before my trip was scheduled. 

 

 

そこに丁度Hit-chanが帰国する事になり、しかも1月生まれなので、都合よく一緒にお祝いしてもらう事になったんです。（ラッキー）
Then, my trip was made out of blue and my BD's January too, so they generously welcomed me to celebrate all the BDs together. (Lucky me!)

 

 

そして、ちゃっかり一番祝われております。(笑)
They treated me like the main guest. Haha. 

 

 

 

ケーキは母お気に入りの地元のケーキ屋さんで予約した、苺増し増しリクエストをして作ってもらったもの。
The beautiful cake was from my mom's favorite local cake shop. She requested to put as many strawberries as possible on the top. 

 

 

 

当日は妹2スカッチが車を出してくれたので、ケーキを運ぶのにかなり助かりました。
（そうじゃないと、チャリンコで運ばないと行けなかったからね。）
Again, Skatch kindly gave us a ride, so it was very easy to carry the cake to the party. 
(Otherwise, my mom had to carry the cake by bike, which would require her extra attention. 

 

 

 

実はこの数日前にDさんのお家を訪問する機会があったのですが、Aさんとはこの日、2年振りに再会しました。
Actually, I had visited one of the mom's friends, D-san, a couple of days before, but I saw the other friend, A-san, for the first time in the last 2 years at the party.  

 

 

持ち寄りパーティーだったので、Hit-chanは前回同様ワカモレを作りました。
It was a potluack party, so I made guacamole which was same as the last time when I was invited to their home party.  

 

 

 

久しぶりに会ったのでお互いの近況や子育ての話に花が咲きました。
We shared recent updates about our families and lives togehter, which was pretty fun. 

 

 

 

帰国する度にこうして温かく迎え入れてくださる母のママ友達には感謝しかありません。
I just really appreciate them for welcoming me every time I go back to Japan. 

 

 

 

今回も一杯お話して楽しい時間を過ごす事ができました。

D-san, A-san, thank you for the great time again!!!

11 ひとり帰国日記/充実した一日 後編(Japan Trip Alone 2024 vol.11/A Super Productive Day 3/3)

How's everything going in your day? 

 

 

 

さて、今日もひとり帰国日記でございます。
Okay, let me keep talking about my Japan trip today. 

 

 

 

前回、待望のよしもと観劇をして大満足だったと書きました。
On the last article, I wrote that I had a blast watching a famous Japanese commedy show.

 

 

 

観劇後、母は帰宅。妹2スカッチとHit-chanはもう少し四条辺りをブラつくことにしました。
After the fun show, my mom went back home. My sister Skatch and I decided to keep walking around Shijo area a little bit more. 

 

 

で、Hit-chan、四条通にあるお店でチェックしたい所がありました。
I actually wanted to check this particular shop on Shijo street.

このリサマリというお店、Hit-chanは到底着こなせないような可愛らしい下着が売っているのですが、Hit-chanが探していたのはこれ。
They sell very cute and sexy lingerie which I wouldn't be able to wear stylishly at all, but what I was looking for was this. 

 

 

 

このモコモコパジャマ。
Ta-da! This super fluffy pajamas!!

 

 

日本2018 (Japan 2018, vol.24) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

このパジャマ、遡る事2018年にAndyっちと初めての体外受精治療の為に日本に滞在していた時、Andyっちがバレンタインデーにプレゼントしてくれたものなんです。
Back in 2018 when Andy and I were staying Kyoto for our 1st IVF, Andy gave me them for a Valentine's day gift. 

 

 

 

このパジャマがめちゃくちゃ暖かくて、Hit-chan、めいを産んで退院する時もこのパジャマを着ていました。（めいさん、寒い、寒い11月末に生まれました。）
The pajamas were super comfy and warm and I fell in love with them!! I was in the pajamas when I was walking out from the hospital afte May-chan's born.  (FYI, May-chan's born in freezing MN november.) 

 

 

あれから早6年。まだまだ着れるものの、できればもう1ペア欲しいなぁと思っていて、Andyっちに当時パジャマを買ったお店の詳しい場所を聞いていたんです。
It's been already 6 years passed since Andy gave me the pajamas. They're still comfy and warm, but I wanted to get another pair just in case they would go worn out or something. So, I had asked Andy which shop he got them at in 2018. 

 

 

 

当時、一人でHit-chanへのバレンタインデーのプレゼントを探し四条通を歩いたAndyっち。記憶を辿って、お店の情報を教えてくれました。
Back then, Andy was browsing to find a Valentine's day gift for me around in Shijo area by himself. So, he went back through his memories and tried to remember where the shop was located. 

 

 

で、無事お店を発見。
Okay, I got there!

 

 

ただ、店員さんに聞いた所、ここ何年かはモコモコパジャマを生産していないとの事。残念！仕方ないよね。
Unfortunately, the staff there told me that they hadn't made any super fluffy pajamas in the last some years, so I couldn't get a new pair. Too bad! 

 

 

 

で、折角四条まで出たので、妹2スカッチと「行ってみたいね！」と言っていたお店へランチをしに行く事に。
Anyways, Skatch and I were already in downtown Kyoto, so we decided to walk to this bakery for lunch becaues we had wanted to try their sandwiches.

こちらのお店もミネソタでYouTubeを観ている時に知り、調べたら京都にも一軒あるという事で、機会があれば行ってみたいと思っていたんです。
I also got to know this bakery chain when I was watching YouTube in Japan right before the trip and found out that there's 1 store in Kyoto too. So, I had wanted to go there whenever I got a chance. 

 

 

 

妹2スカッチとこの海老カツたまごと。。。
My sister, Skatch and I shared this shrimp cutlet & egg sandwich and...

 

 

たっぷり和風タルタルフィッシュと。。。
this fish cutlet & Japanese style tartar sauch sandwich. 

 

 

 

とろけるチーズビーフカレーの3個をシェアする事に。
We also tried this cheese beef curry bread too. 

 

 

この他に、サイドのポテトも注文し、ドリンクはHit-chanはドトールが監修した田島ブレンドというコッペパンに合うホットコーヒー。
（このコーヒー、本当にコッペパンにマッチして美味しかったよ！）
For the side, we got fries too. I had a cup of their original blend coffee coraborated with one of the famous coffee chains, Doutor. The blend named "Tajima blend" was made to match thier bread. 

 

 

妹2スカッチはミルクたっぷりの珈琲ミルクを頼みました。
Skatch had a cup of latte. 

 

 

多分先に席を確保してから注文した方が良くて、この時はめちゃくちゃ運良くて１テーブルだけ空いていました。
They had an order counter in the 1st floor and tables in the 2nd floor. There were not many tables, so you should've found a table first and then ordered something in the 1st floor. We luckily found a table which was the only one left open. 

 

 

 

肝心のお味ですが、見た目以上にパンの部分が軽くて、2人で3個＆ポテトをシェアして丁度良い量で、めちゃくちゃ美味しかったです。
Anyways, as for the flavor which was most important, both Skatch and I loved the sandwiches. The bread was lighter than it looked, so the 2 sandwiches, 1 bread and 1 set of fries were perfect amount for 2 of us. 

 

 

私達は店内で食べるだけを買いましたが、お持ち帰りをしているお客さんも多かったです。
We ordered as much as we could eat there, but a lot of customers were ordering for take-out. 

 

 

 

美味しいランチの後、来た道を帰りつつお店を見て、実家の方に向かいました。
After the nice and yummy lunch, we walked back to where we were coming from as browsing shops on the roads and then headed back to our parents' house. 

 

 

 

が、そのまま実家には帰らずにこの日を締めるのに来たのはこちら。
Though, we didn't go back home straight and stopped by here. 

 

 

 

カラオケ～！
Karaoke!!

 

 

 

Hit-chanはカラオケ好きなんですが、Andyっちは人前で歌うの嫌いだし、めいがいるとなかなか行けないし、もう何年かぶりでした。
I really like singing at Karaoke (only in a private room though) but Andy strongly dislikes singing in front of others (his families and friends included) and I don't want to bore May-chan, so it was the first Karaoke time for me in the last several years, I think. 

 

 

 

妹2スカッチもめちゃくちゃ久しぶりにカラオケをするらしく、一曲ずつ順番に歌っていって、2人で4時間以上ぶっ続けで歌いまくりました。(笑)
It'd been a long time since Skatch went to Karaoke last too, so we alternately sang songs and overall spent more than 4 hours just singing there. LOL

 

 

 

そんなこんなで、この日は朝の役所から始まり、夜のカラオケまで大充実に過ごす事ができました。
Anyways, I began the day from going to the town hall and ended it by joyously singing for 4 hours. 

 

 

 

Hit-chanのやりたかったことに付き合ってくれた母と妹2スカッチに大感謝です。
I want to sent a big thank you to my mom and sister for coming along with me for the entire night.

10 ひとり帰国日記/充実した一日 中編(Japan Trip Alone 2024 vol.10 /A Super Productive Day 2/3)

Hi there!

 

 

 

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today? 

 

 

 

さて、こちらミネソタ、先日「半袖でも大丈夫な陽気です！」とか言ってたんですが、先週の金曜日辺りからまたパラパラ雪が降って、また一気に冬の景色に逆戻り。（涙）
Here in MN, I was saying, "It's really nice out and warm enough to walk outside just in T-shirt!" but we got some snow from last Friday and returned to the winter scenery again. (Dang!) 

 

 

 

ママ友達も、「ついこの前ジャケット全部洗ったのに～！！」と、この寒暖差に振り回されているようでした。(笑)
My friends were saying, "I just washed all the winter jackets a couple of days ago!!" and seemed tired of being swayed by this MN seasonal roller coaster. LOL

 

 

 

で、ジャケット、帽子、手袋を付けていた昨日の朝とは打って変わって、日曜日の今日はまたTシャツでも大丈夫な春の陽気。(笑)
Though we were walking in a winter jacket, hat and gloves in the morning yesterday, today is back to spring warm enough to be fine just in T-shirt again. Haha. 

 

 

8 ひとり帰国日記/初びっくりドンキー (Japan Trip Alone 2024 vol.8 /Family Dinner @ Bikkuri Donkey) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

先日もこの記事で書いたんですが、ダディとめいちゃんが植えたチューリップも、その後変化がありました。
I mentioned that May-chan and Daddy planted some tulips in the front yard on this article, but I have an update about them today. 

 

 

 

一応、毎日成長のチェックをしているんですが、昨日、予想だにしていなかった事が！！
We check them everyday, but found out something very unexpected yesterday!!

 

 

 

分かります？順調に膨らんでいた蕾が無くなっているんです！！
Can you see it? The bud was getting bigger well, but completely disappeared!!

 

 

恐らく犯人は我が家の近くによく出没する鹿さんだと思いますが、まさか、チューリップを食べられるとは想像もしていませんでした。
（Andyっちと前から「ガーデニングはしたいけど、鹿さん対策が大変そうねぇ。」と話しており、未だ家庭菜園は実現しておりません。）
Andy said that he assumed that probably wild deer ate them, but I even didn't imagine that they would eat tulips!
(Andy and I have kind of wanted to make a garden in our yard for a while, but it'd be a lot of work to protect the yard from wild deer, so we haven't started it yet.)  

 

 

 

幸い？8個あった蕾の内3個は生き残っており、元気に花を咲かせてくれるのを祈る今日この頃です。
Fortunately? 3 out of 8 buds survived from the deer attack and I hope that the 3 survivers will bloom pretty flowers soon. 

 

 

さて、今日もひとり帰国日記です。
Okay, let me share my Japan trip diary here again. 

 

 

 

1月最後の日、とっても充実した一日を送った日の続きです。
The last day of January was a super productive day for me. 

 

 

 

八坂神社でのお参りが済んだ後、歩いてすぐ傍にあるこの日の目的地に向かいました。
Afer we visited Yasaka shrine, we walked to the main destination of the day. 

 

 

 

その途中、すごく長い行列が出来ているお店を発見。
On the way to the destinaton, we saw this looooong cue like this. 

 

 

京の米料亭 八代目儀兵衛
母に聞いたら、どうやらお米の美味しいお店らしいです。
My mom told me that it's a Japanese restaurant which delicious rice was famous.

 

 

 

そんな人気店のすぐ傍にあるのが今回の目的地。よしもと祇園花月です。
Here's it. This was the main event of the day. A commedy theater owned by the most famous commedy agency in Japan. 

 

 

実はHit-chan、ミネソタでYouTubeを見ている時に、よしもとの劇場が京都に復活したという事実を知り、「折角だから、機会があれば観に行きたいなぁ。」と密かに思っていたんです。
I actually got to know about them opening a new theater in Kyoto while watching YouTube in MN, so "Why not? I wanna go and see a desent comedy show there if I can!!" thought I. 

 

 

 

その事を母に話したら、「私も行きたい！」と言ってくれ、丁度お仕事がお休みだった妹２スカッチもお誘いして皆で行く事になったんです。
When I talked to my mom about my little dream, she said, "I wanna go too!" and also my sister, Skatch, was off that day, so why not? 3 of us made the fun plan. 

 

 

開場は11時半からだったんですが、11時くらいには着いちゃいました。
The open time was 11:30am, but we got there around 11am, 

 

 

事前にウェブページで当日の出演者がチェックできるのですが、この日に出演していたのは、漫才では吉田たち、藤崎マーケット、ミルクボーイ、すゑひろがりず。あと、中田カウスさんのコーナーもありました。
You can check all the comedians and actors playing on the day on their website beforehand, which is very nice. So, we picked up a day when some of our favorites were playing. 

 

 

新喜劇ではすっちーさん、川畑泰史さん、島田珠代さん、末成映薫さんなどでした。
They performed some Manzai (Japanese stand-up talk by duos or trios) and also one theater play too. 

 

 

 

母はミルクボーイ、Hit-chanは島田珠代さんを見るのを楽しみにしていました。
My mom was especially looking for this duo, Milk boy, and I was excited to see this actress, Tamayo Shimada. 

 

 

 

そして、お得な事に、月ごとに色んなキャンペーンをやっていまして、1月も「誕生月の人は半額」とか「京都在住なら500円オフ！」だったので、1月が誕生日のHit-chanは半額の1400円でチケットを買う事ができました。（ラッキー！）
They actually had a lot of good deals depending on the month and in January they were doing, "When your birth month is January, you can get the half price off!" and "If you're a resident of Japan, you can get 500yen ($5) off!" So, I used the deal and could get my ticket with 1400yen ($14) and my mom and sister got 500 yen off!! (Lucky us!!)

 

 

 

開場前でも劇場の入り口には入れました。そこに小さなお土産屋さんがあったので。。。
It was a very tight space, but they had a souvenior shop at the front door. 

 

 

 

Hit-chan、スーツケースに貼る為に海原やすよともこさんのステッカーを購入。(笑)
So, I got a sticker of Unabara Yasuyo&Tomoko (A famous Manzai sisters) so that I could put it on my orange suitcase. LOL

 

 

 

劇場内はこじんまりしているので、演者さんとの距離が近いのが魅力です。
The size of theater was not that big, so it's pretty nice that you can see the players so close. 

 

 

 

Hit-chan、前に一度松竹新喜劇は生で観た事があるのですが、よしもと新喜劇は初めて。生で漫才を観るのも今回が初めてでした。
I'd been to see a commedy play at another famous theater, but it was my first time to see this agency's one. Also, it was my first time to see Manzai in person. (I'd seen Manzai a million times on TV though.) 

 

 

で、初よしもと観劇の感想ですが、面白かったです！
Anyways, I enjoyed it a lot. 

 

 

 

漫才では、皆さん面白かったですが、Hit-chan個人的には藤崎マーケットさんとすゑひろがりずさんが好きでした。
All the Manzai duos were great and funny, but I personally liked Fujisaki market and Suehirogarizu most. 

 

 

 

新喜劇もすっちーさんが色々アドリブをしていて、劇場ならではの雰囲気も楽しかったです。珠ちゃんも頑張ってたし、元気もらいました。
In the theater play, the leader, Succhi-san, was improvising a lot, which was so funny. It was definitely a vibe that you couldn't feel just by watching TV and I  really liked to see my favorite actress, Tama-chan, playing very well too. They gave me much energy.

 

 

 

と、こんな感じで、充実した一日のメインイベント、大満足でございました。
Okay, this is all about the main event of the day, and I was very pleased.
