ウルヴスの選手がこんな近くに！ (The MN Timberwolves players were right there!)

日本は今日、日曜日でしょうか。
It's Sunday in Japan today, isn't it?




皆さん、良い週末をお過ごしですか？
Are you having a nice weekend, everyone?




Hit-chanですが、お休みだったんで木曜日の夜から金曜日の昼まで、合計14時間も寝ました。
Well, me, since I'm off, I slept over 14hours from the Thursday night to yesterday's noon. Hehe.




いやぁ、目覚ましもかけずに寝たいだけ寝れるって本当に幸せですねぇ。
Oh well, how happy you can sleep as long as you want without setting your alarm on!





で、Hit-chan、3日前に家で包丁を洗っていたら、指を切っちゃいました。
By the way, I cut my finger 3days ago when I was washing a knife at home.





すぐにバンドエイドを貼ろうと思ったら、目の前に瞬間接着剤が。
I tried to put a band aid on my finger, but I found a superglue bottle just in front of my eyes.





で、付けてみるとこれ、結構良い感じ。
So I put it on my finger and it feels pretty good.




カリブーの仕事で水仕事もするんですが、接着剤だと防水にもなって、全然問題ありませんでした。（笑）
I often use water at work too and the superglue protects the cut from getting wet and I didn't have any problem with it.





さて、昨日、今年最後のウルヴスの試合に行きまして、まぁ、ズタボロにやられた訳ですが、その一つ前のホームの試合で素晴らしい経験をさせてもらいました。
So, I went to the season last wolves game with Andy yesterday and we completely lost, but we had a wonderful time on the prior home game the other day.




この日の試合にはいつもより早く会場に行きました。
On the day, we went to Target Center earlier than usual.





コートのすぐ横まで通してもらって、しばし待ちました。
They let us to go through to the side of court and we waited there a little bit.

Hit-chanの一番好きな、ルーク・リドナー選手が目の前に！
（この日は怪我で試合に出れないと知っていたので、こうやって目の前でシュート練習をされているのをみて感動。）
My favorite player, Luke Ridnour!
(I knew that he's injured and wouldn't play the night, so I was so impressed to see him practice shooting just in front of me.)




で、もう一人、お気に入りのアンソニー・ランドルフ選手も目の前に！
And, another favorite player of mine, Anthony Randolph was also there!






Andyっちとショーンもワクワク、ワクワク。（Andyっち半目やけどね。笑）
Andy and his best friend, Shawn were also excited! (Andy's eyes are half closed though. Hehe)





で、時間が来たのでちょっと移動。
So, the time's come and we moved a little.





で、他に選ばれたファンと一緒にコートのど真ん中で待ちます。
We were waiting together with other picked friends in the middle of the court.

で、目の前には。。。

いつも試合を盛り上げてくれる、コートホストのベンとビーライが！
The court host, Ben and B-wright, who always make a game so exciting!





二人ともとっても気さくで、ファンとも普通に会話をしてくれて、Hit-chanが写真を撮っているのを見つけて、ビーライはニコって笑ってくれました。
They were so friendly and frankly talked to us and B-wright smiled to me when he found me taking their picture.






コートからいつも座ってる場所を見てると、めっちゃ遠かったよ。（ニコちゃんマークのとこらへんね。）
The smile mark is where we usually sit, so when I looked at there from the court, it looks so far.




で、いよいよ時間が！
Finally, the time had come!





まずは相手チームのThe Warriorsの選手が出てきました。
First, the other team, The Warriors players showed up.




で、ついに！
And then!






ウルヴスの選手が！先頭はマーテル・ウェブスター選手。
The Wolves players! The leader was Martel Webster.




で、Hit-chan達を含めて、待ってたファンの皆は選手の手から直接、サイン入りのミニバスケットボールを受け取ったんです！
And, we all fans received mini sign balls directly from the players.





Andyっちは「ウェイン好きやなぁ～。」って何日か前に話していたからか、その願いが叶ってウェイン・エリントン選手から。
Andy was saying "I like Wayne."　some days ago and luckily Wayne Ellington came to Andy and he handed a ball to Andy!

「君は素晴らしいよ！」
"You're awesome!"





って伝える事ができまして、ウェインも嬉しそうにニコって笑ってくれました。
and Wayne looked happy and smiled to us.





Hit-chanは変則的なんですが、
My situation was a little bit anomalistic and






またまたお気に入りの選手、アンソニー・トリヴァー選手から、さっきコートで観た、アンソニー・ランドルフ選手のサイン入りのボールをもらいました。
I got a ball with Anthony Randolph's autograph from Anthony Tolliver who's another favorite player of mine again.





Hit-chan、全然何も考えてなかったので、何を言って良いのか分からなくなって、思わず
I didn't think anything and I wasn't sure what to say, so I told him





「あなたの事が大好きです～～！」
"I love you!!!"




って言ってしまいました。
Hehe.





「あなたのプレイが大好きです～！」
"I love your play!!!"





とか言えば良かったなぁってその後思いましたが、アンソニー・トリバー選手、わざわざHit-chanの目線に合わせて腰をかがめてニコって笑って握手してくれました。
I wondered if I should have said like that later, but he bent to shake hands with me as gently smiling.

いやぁ、ほんとに一瞬だったんですけど、大興奮の時間でした。
Oh well, it was just a moment, but so exciting.

ちなみに来年のシーズンチケットを申し込んだHit-chan達、昨年より今年良くなったので、来年はもっと強くなる事を祈りたいと思います！
By the way, we already updated our season tickets for the next year and the team was better than the last year, so I do hope that they will be much better than this year!

カウンティング・クロウズ2 (Counting Crows2)

Hello!




皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing, everyone?





Hit-chanはですねぇ、今日、また筋肉痛でございます。
Me, yeah, my body muscle is sore today again.





理由は、前回の打ちっぱなしではありませんで、昨日、Andyっちを驚かせようと、うちの庭の芝刈りを頑張っちゃったからでございます。
It's because I mowed the lawn hard in our yard to surprise Andy yesterday.




一応、手押しの芝刈り機を使っての作業ですが、うちの庭が半端なくでこぼこしてるんで、ほんとに大変なんですよ。
Well, I used our lawn mower, but our yard is quite uneven and so tough to mow.





まぁ、めっちゃ頑張った甲斐がありまして、Andyっちが家に帰ってきてすぐにHit-chanの所に来て、
So, for that I worked so hard on it, when Andy got back home, he came to me right away and said






「めっちゃ感動した。ほんま感動した。」
"I'm impressed. Honey, I'm so impressed."





って喜びを伝えに来てくれました。
describing how much he's impressed.





もちろん、
Of course, he said





「ありがとう。」
"Thank you."





と言ってくれたんですが、Hit-chanは思わず、
to me, but I told him





「ありがとう、ちゃうやろ。ほんまに、ほんまに、ほんまにありがとう、やろ！」
"Not thank you, honey. You have to say, thank you very, very, very much!!!"





って、言ったら、素直に
And then, he obediently said,





「ほんまに、ほんまに、ほんまにありがとう！」
"Thank you very, very, very much!"




って言ってくれました。
Hehe.





まぁ、それだけうちの芝刈りは大変だって事なんですよ。（笑）
Anyways, that's how hard to mow the lawn in our yard.





で、前回の記事の続き、カウンティングクロウズのコンサートのご報告です。
So, I want to talk about the counting crows after the last article today.





コンサート当日、
On the day,





一応、会場前に記念撮影。（最近、毎日すっぴん生活。笑）
We took a pic in front of the sign. (I don't put make up on at all lately.)





上手い事、看板の文字を入れられて満足。
I'm glad that I could put the sign in the pic well.





で、会場に入ってすぐに、TシャツとかCDなどのグッズが売られていたので、記念に、AndyっちにTシャツ2枚、Hit-chanにTシャツ1枚を購入しました。
When we went to the building, we found the counter that they're selling T-shirts or CDs, so we got Andy 2 T-shirts and me 1.




ここで、親友ショーンと奥さんのベッキーと合流
Around there, we could meet up with Andy's best friend, Shawn and his wife, Becky.




で、会場に入ってみると。。。
And, we went to the inside...





こんな感じ。

会場はミネソタステイトシアターという所だったんですが、思っていたよりも小さな会場で、Hit-chanとAndyっちの席は、一階の後ろから3列目くらいでした。
The place was Minnesota State theater and that was smaller than I expected. Our seats were located on the 1st floor and the 3rd row from the back.





凄く豪華な装飾がされていて、調べてみると、1921年にオープンした、歴史ある劇場なんですねぇ。
There was so gorgeous decoration on the walls and ceiling. I googled and found that it opened in 1921.




開演時間は7時半からで、まずは前座のバンドが1時間ほどプレイしました。
The open time was 7:30pm and it started from the opening band.




初めて聞く曲ばかりで、一曲一曲は良い感じでしたが、何曲も聞いてると全部同じに聞こえてきてしまいました。（笑）
I'd never heard the band, but still liked the songs one by one. They lastly sounded almost same to me though. Hehe.




で、ようやく8時半すぎくらいにカウンティングクロウズが登場。
Finally, Counting Crows showed up on the stage around 8:30pm.





会場内では、ビデオ、レコーダーでの録音は禁止されていましたが、写真はOK。
We're not allowed to record the music with a video camera or voice recorder, but we could take pictures there.





ただ、暗い会場内では、Hit-chanのカメラと腕ではこれが最高。
But, this is the best shot that I could take with my camera and hands in the dark place.





いやぁ、カウンティングクロウズ、他のミュージシャン達が憧れるバンドだけあって、演奏が本当に上手です。
So, well, Counting Crows, which is admired by other musicians, was so awesome to create sophisticated sound with the instruments.





確か、ギター3人、ドラム1人、ベース1人、ピアノ1人、ボーカル1人という構成だったと思いますが、本当、見事なハーモニーで心地よかったです。
I think they're 3guitars, 1drums, 1bass guitar, 1piano and 1vocal, but the harmony was pretty comfortable.




もちろん、コンサートなので、音量は凄いんですが、演奏が上手いので子守唄代わりに眠れそうでした。（笑）
Of course, it's a concert and the volume was so loud, but I even could sleep in because the play was extremely well and comfy.





ボーカルのアダムも、ほとんどMC無しで歌いっぱなしだったんですが、全然声が乱れないし、凄い声量で、Hit-chanの知っている曲も何個か演奏してくれたので嬉しかったです。
Adam, the vocal, kept singing some songs without talking for a while, but his voice stayed so deep and rich. I was excited that they played some songs familiar to me too.




Andyっちも楽しんでくれたみたいで、本当に良かったです。
Of course, I'm so happy that Andy had a great time as well.

カウンティング・クロウズ(Counting Crows)

皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか
How's it going today?




Hit-chanは無事、6日連続勤務を終えましたが、昨日、疲れが溜まっていたのか、左のお尻の筋肉がピキーンとツッて大変でした。（笑）
I'm finely done my 6day in a raw schedule, but the left side of my butt suddenly got sore and hurt when I was folding my clothes yesterday. I think it's because my body muscle got so tired.





さて、何気ない毎日が続く中、今日はちょっと特別な日でございます。
So, it's been calm and ordinary lately, but it's a little bit special today.





というのも、今夜、Andyっちの好きなバンド、カウンティング・クロウズのコンサートに行きます。
It's because we're going to Andy's favorite band, Counting Crows, concert tonight.










で、Hit-chanはAndyっちから聞くまで、このバンドの事は知らなかったんですが、こっちでは結構有名なバンドみたいです。
I didn't know the band until I heard it from Andy, but it seems popular here.




で、実はこのコンサート、Hit-chanからAndyっちへのサプライズプレゼントだったんですが、結構ミラクルな形でチケットを手に入れる事ができたんです。
Actually, the concert tickets are a surprise present from me to Andy and I could get them in a miracle way.






ミラクルの始まりはある日、Hit-chanが仕事終わりに車でラジオを聞いた事から始まります。
The miracle story started from when I listened to the radio in my car the other day.




普段、Hit-chanは自分のiPodを聴いているので、車でラジオを聞くことはほとんどありません。
Usually, I listen to my iPod in my car and don't listen to the radio almost at all.




でも、何故かその日は自分のiPodを繋げず、ラジオをつけたんです。
I don't know why, but I turned on the radio.




そしたら、ラジオから、
And then, I heard the voice




「カウンティング・クロウズが4月にミネアポリスに～！」
"Counting Crows coming to Minneapolis in April!"




という声が聞こえてきたんです。
from the radio.




で、家に帰ってすぐにネットで調べてみたら、何とチケットがその日から発売になっていたんです。
So, I googled about it right away after I got back home and found that the tickets got on sale exactly from the day.




でも、ここで問題が。。。
But I got a problem here.




発売になっていたチケットはカウンティング・クロウズのファンクラブメンバー向けのもので、購入する為にはファンクラブメンバーだけに知らされるパスワードが必要だったんです。
The tickets already on sale were just for the fan club members and you needed a password which's issued by the fan club to purchase the tickets.




Hit-chanはファンクラブメンバーでもなんでも無いので、もちろんそのパスワードは知らないので、一瞬諦めようかなぁと思いました。
Of course, I'm not the member and don't know the password, so I almost gave up trying to buy the tickets once.




でも、やっぱりどうしてもAndyっちを驚かせて、色々情報はないかと探してみたら、何と、ある人がツイッターで、
Even though, I really wanted to surprise Andy and tried to find any information about the password, and then I found that somebody twittering




「カウンティング・クロウズのパスワードは○○○○やで～。良かったら使ってね。」
"The password for Counting Crows concert is XXXXX. You can use it!"





と呟いてくれていました。






で、その他の人も
And another person was also twittering





「パスワードが分かった！○○○○や！」
"I figured out the password! XXXXXX!"




と呟いていたんです。





で、そのパスワードを入力したら、本当にチケットが買えちゃったんです！
So, I entered the password and then I really could get the tickets!




いやぁ、ミラクルですねぇ。
Oh well, it's a really miracle.





ちなみに、その次の日が一般発売だったんですけど、Andyっちの親友、ショーンが買おうとしたらもう売り切れだったみたいです。
（ショーンはその後違うルートでチケット手に入れたみたいです。）
By the way, the tickets got on sale for public on the next day after I got the tickets. And Andy's best friend, Shawn also tried to buy the tickets, but he couldn't get any then.
(He could get 2 in another way later though.)




もちろん、すぐにAndyっちにチケットを見せたんですけど、Andyっちはコンサートがあること自体知らなかったみたいで、めっちゃ驚いて＆喜んでくれました。
Of course, I showed the tickets to Andy right away and as I expected, he got exited. He even didn't know about the concert.




という訳で、今日はこれから非日常を楽しんできたいと思います！
Anyways, I want to enjoy the unusual time from now today!

今日は仕事に行きたくなかったけど。(I didn't want to work today, but...)

皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?





最近、ここミネソタも暖かくなってきたんですが、朝は少し肌寒かったりして、ユニクロのヒートテックのタイツを脱ぐタイミングがまだ分かりません。（笑）
Here in MN, it's getting warmer lately, but I can't quit wearing my leggings yet because it's still sometimes chilly in the morning. So, I don't know when to stop wearing them yet.





Hit-chanは基本寒がりなんで、朝ちょっと寒いとやっぱりヒートテック穿いちゃうですよねぇ。
I basically don't like cold weather, so I ended up putting my leggings on under my pants when I feel chilly in the morning.





で、昨日は休みでダラダラしていたんですが、昨日の夜くらいから何故か
Well, I was off and being lazy yesterday and I don't know why, but last night, I got to feel like




「明日働きたくな～い！」
"I don't want to work tomorrow!!!"




っていう気分でした。






特に働きたくない理由はなかったんですが、オフの一日ダラダラしていたせいか、仕事モードになるのがちょっと億劫だったんですねぇ。
I didn't have any particular reason why I didn't want to work, but I guess that I needed some more time to get myself into a work mood maybe because I'd been lazy all day.





でもでも、やっぱり朝起きて、カリブーまで行って、大好きなスカーレットと働いてたら、徐々に楽しくなって帰る頃には元気になってました。
However, I woke up at 4:45am and started working at work with one of my favorites, Scarlet, I got feeling much better around when I was done the shift.





これが違う仕事だったりしたら余計に疲れていたかもしれませんね。
What if it's a different job, I might have got exhausted or stressed out.





改めて、元気のもらえる仕事をさせていただいて感謝しています。
I really appreciate for working at such a wonderful place again.




Hit-chanの場合はカリブーの仕事一つだけですけど、今日一緒に働いたスカーレットもケルシーも学生なので、仕事以外にも授業とか宿題があるので、本当に凄いなぁって感心します
For me, the job at Caribou is all I'm doing in my daily life, but for Scarlet or Kelsie who I worked with today, they have more things to do like classes or homework because they're going to school, so I'm really proud of them.





そんな彼女達を見習って、Hit-chanも先日書いたように、もうちょっとフリータイムに英語の勉強しなくちゃなぁと思ってます。
Like the girls, I'll try to do more English studying in my free time.





まぁそうは言っても、今週は6日連続勤務なんで、あんまり無理しないように家でのフリータイムを過ごしたいと思います！
Even if I said so, I'll try not to do too hard at home because I'm going to work 6days in a raw this week and the next week. Hehe.





皆さんもあんまり無理しないで、ゆる～りできる時はゆる～りとお過ごしくださいね～。（笑）
Please you don't work too hard and be lazy when you can be lazy too! Hehe.

今日はお休み、そして英語の勉強。 (It's off today and studying English.)

皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




こちらミネソタ、外のお天気もとっても良くて、道端の木々にも若葉がつき始めています。
Here in MN, it's very nice out today and trees on the street have started getting young leaves.





Hit-chanは今日はお休みなので、朝からのんび～り過ごしております。
I'm off today, so I've been lazy since the morning.




のんび～りと言っても、今読まなければならない本（英語）がありまして、ゆるゆると辞書を片手に1ページずつ読み進めております。
Even if I say I've been lazy, I have a book(English) to read now, so I'm slowly reading it page by page with a dictionary in my hand.





本と言えば、先日新米ミネソタンさんから日本の本を何冊かお借りしたので、そっちも読んでおります。
Speaking of book, I borrowed some Japanese books from my friend the other day, so I've been reading them lately.





不思議な事に、日本にいた頃はほとんど本を読まなかったHit-chanなのに、こちらに来てからは毎日英語で過ごす分、日本語が恋しくなるのか、日本の本がとっても有難いです。
What's interesting is that I used to not reading books almost at all when I was in Japan, but I'm really want Japanese books because I'm surrounded by English everyday and miss Japanese.




読む物も、日本にいた頃は軽く読めるエッセイなどが多かったのに、今はミステリー小説が面白くてはまっちゃっております。
When I was in Japan, I liked essays to read, but I really like mystery novels now.




普段の生活が平和～に過ぎていく分、本の中にスリルを求めているんでしょうねぇ。（笑）
I think that I tend to want some thrill because I'm living in a calm and peaceful life. Hehe.





日本の本はこっちでは貴重なんで、本当、いつも気前良く貸してくれる新米ミネソタンさんには感謝、感謝でございます。
Anyways, it's really hard for me to get Japanese books here, so I really appreciate my friend for lending me her books.





さて、英語の勉強なんですが、日本では結構心掛けてTOFELとかTOEICの勉強をしていたんですが、こっちに来てからはあんまり勉強しなくなりました。
So, as for studying English, I used to try harder to learn it for some English test when I was in Japan, but since I came to the US, I quit it.




確かに、毎日カリブーで働く事自体が英語の勉強になるのは間違いないんですが、それでも、英語の語彙力や文法、いやいや、全てにおいてまだまだ勉強しないといけないなぁと感じます。
Certainly, it's a really great practice for me just working at Caribou everyday, but still, I'm still a lot short of English vocabulary, grammer...yeah, everything about the language and I think I need to study more.




カリブーでは、優しいお客さんに、
At Caribou, some sweet customers kindly tell me





「英語、本当に上手ねぇ。どこで勉強したの～？」
"Your English is great. Where did you learn?"





とか言ってもらい、Andyっちにも
Andy also kindly tells me




「こっちに来た頃よりも上手になってるよ～。」
"Your English gets better than when you came here."




と言って褒めてもらったりしますが、自分では全く成長が見えておりません。
But still, I don't see how much my English has been improved at all.




仕事場では同僚も馴染みのお客さんも本当に優しいので、間違った英語を使っていたり、分からない事があったりしても、我慢強く聞いたり、教えてくれたりします。
At work, my co-workers and customers are all so kind and sweet, so they patiently listen to what I want to say and teach me correct ways to describe what I want to say in the language.





でも、その優しさに甘えてばっかりじゃ、やっぱり成長はしないので、もうちょっと自分でも努力していきたいなぁと思ってます。
Even though, if I keep relying on their kindness, I wouldn't improve my English skill at all, so I want to try harder by myself as well.




こっちに来て今年の6月で2年
It's going to be 2years in the end of June since I moved to MN.




ちょっと受身になっていた英語の勉強、また積極的にやっていきたいなぁと思う今日この頃です。
I've tended to be passive for studying English lately, so I'm thinking to restart positively studying more.





前みたいに単語カードとか作ろっかなぁ。
I'm wondering to make flash cards to memorize new words again...




まぁ、まずは、読まないといけない本を読みきりたいと思います。
Anyways, I have the book to read now, so I'll finish it first.
