6月最初の日曜日 (The first Sunday of June)

Hi there!




皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going today?




もう6月も終わりに近づき、早いものであっという間に今年も半分以上が過ぎてしまいました。
Time flies again! How many times have I said this?? June is almost over, and more than the half of this year already passed.




実は明日からファミリーバケーションに1週間行く事になっておりまして、今回泊るキャビンはママがAirbnbで見つけてきてくれたんですが、wifiが付いていないのでパソコンは持って行かずに過ごそうと思っています。
Actually, we are going to have a family vacation for a week from tomorrow and stay in a cabin that Mom found at Airbnb. This cabin looks very nice but doesn't have wifi at all, so I'm not going to bring my laptop with me for this trip.



まぁ、Hit-chanのブログはざらに1週間以上更新が滞るので普段とあまり変わりませんが、とりあえず次の1週間はブログは更新できません。（Hit-chanが使っているgoo blogって、予約投稿の機能がないんですよねぇ。）
Well, I often don't update my blog more than 1 week and might not have to tell this here especially, but my blog isn't going to be updated for the next week for sure. (I wish that goo blog has a system to set a time to automatically upload an article.)




さて、今日は6月最初の日曜日にした事を書いていきたいと思います。
Okay, I'm going to write about the first Sunday of June today.




この日、友人のリアナ＆パトリックが「家に来る？」と誘ってくれたので、特に用事のない我が家や「行く、行く～！」と二つ返事でお邪魔してきました。
On the day, our friends, Patrick&Rheanna invited us to their house, and we didn't have anything planned and said, "Yup! We're coming!"





この日は良いお天気～。ダウンタウンの写真を久しぶりに撮ったよ～。
It was a nice day! I took a pic of downtown for the first time in a long time.





いつものように、リアナに抱っこしてもらってるめいです。
Just as usual, May-chan's relaxed in Rheanna's arms.




パトリックも元気そうで何より。
I'm glad to see Patrick doing well too.




実は、この日の前日、リアナとパトリックは新しい犬を引き取ったんです。
Actually, on the day before, they adopted a new puppy!





こちらがその子犬。まだまだ赤ちゃんです。
She's the cutie. Still a baby!





ジャーマンシェパードなので結構大きくなると思うのですが、今はまだこのサイズです。Andyっちの足元にいます。
She's a German Shephed and going to be big. Though, she's still small. (She's lying by Andy's feet.)




こちらは先輩のミカ。新しく来た子犬ちゃんとも、今の所は結構上手く行っているみたいです。ミカは大人しくて優しいもんねぇ。
Here's Mika. I wondered if she's getting along with the little newcomer, but Rheanna said that they're doing well together so far. Yeah, Mika is a calm and kind dog, so I'm not surprised.




でね、全然関係ないんですけど、Andyっちが新しい車を買いました。(笑)
Okay, I need to talk about this, and Andy bought a new car. Haha.




今乗っているMazda Speed3は大好きでカスタムのパーツを付けたりして楽しんでいるんですが、ここミネソタでは冬に走ると道路に撒かれている融雪剤が車についてボディが錆びてくるんです。
He loves his old car, Mazda Speed3, and has enjoyed it by installing some custom parts or something but he didn't want to drive it in winter since de-icer salt on roads make the car body rusty here in MN.




なので、Mazda Speed3をできるだけ長く乗っていけるようにと、特に冬の間に普段使いする車が欲しかったんですねぇ。
So, to keep his favorite car the longest, he wanted a car to drive in winter.




そんな希望もありーの、今月でMazdaのローンが終わるとの事で思い切って買ったのがこちら。
Besides the wish, we paid off the Mazda lan this month, so Andy finally made the big purchase.





BMWです。
It's BMW.





もちろん中古で、マニュアル車だよ。
Of course, it's a used and transmission car.




ディーラーのエンジニアの方も、「この状態でこの値段だったら、僕が買いたいくらいだよ～。」と言うくらい、めちゃくちゃ良い値段で買えたそうです。
Andy said that the engineer at the BMW dealer wasy saying, "This car is very cheap for this nice condition. If you don't, I'd buy it." So, I can assume that it was a great deal.




Hit-chanにとって車は移動手段以外の何物でも無いので安心して運転できるものが一台あれば十分なんですが、こういう理由で複数台車を所有したりする感覚は分からないですけど、まぁ、車好きの方は分かるんでしょうねぇ。
To me, car in general is just a transportation tool, and I just need a safe and trustable one at a time. So, I honestly would never own multiple cars for fun or something, but I understand why car lovers want to do it.




とは言え、こういう買い物をする時は事前にHit-chanに相談してくれるし、何よりAndyっちが毎日頑張って働いて稼いだお金で買うので、Hit-chanは何も文句はありません。
It was another big money spending for sure, but Andy always asks me about my opinions beforehand and respects them, and plus that, it's money that he earned through his hardwork, so I don't have any complaint about this.




で、リアナとパトリックの家で、クリス、フィオナ、フレディも合流して、一緒に美味しいランチと楽しい時間を過ごさせてもらった後、すぐ近くにするパパママの家にも寄りました。
Anyways, later at Patrick&Rheanna's, Chris, Fiona and Freddy came over, and we all had nice lunch and a great time togehter. After that, we went over to Dad&Mom's house since they live so close.





いつもと同じようにグランマに遊んでもらってます。
Just as always, Grandma gave tons of love and fun time to May-chan.





グランパも遊んでくれました。
Grandpa also nicely entertained May-chan too!




パパママの家で1時間くらいかなぁ？を過ごして、お家に帰りました。
We spent about one hour or so at Dad&Mom's and then headed back home.




という事で、6月最初の日曜日はこんな感じで楽しい時間を過ごす事ができました！

Andyっちの初めての父の日 (Andy's 1st Father's Day)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




さて、先日、パパママ＆ブラッド君を我が家に招いて一緒に父の日をお祝いしたと書きました。
So, I already wrote here about the day that we celebrated Father's day with Dad&Mom and Brad at our house.




今日はその翌日、日曜日の父の日当日の様子を書いていきたいと思います。
Today, I want to share the story about Father's day that we celebrated just with us on Sunday.




昨年の11月に娘のめいが生まれたので、今年の母の日はHit-chanにとって母として初めての母の日、そして父の日はAndyっちにとって父として初めての父の日でした。
Our loving daughter, May-chan, was born in last November, so I had my first Mother's day as a mom this year and Andy had his first Father's day as a dad too.




母の日にAndyっちが頑張ってカードやプレゼントを用意してくれて、素敵な母の日を送る事ができました。
On my first mother's day, Andy put a lot of effort to get a card and some presents for me, and thanks to that, I had a great day.




なので、日頃の感謝と母の日のお礼を兼ねて、Hit-chanも頑張ってカードやプレゼントを用意しました。
So, I also did some research and work to get presents for Andy's first Father's day so that I could tell him how much I appreciated him for working hard for the family everyday and also making my first mother's day wonderful.





Andyっちはこの日、毎年参加しているリブコンテストの試作も兼ねてリブを作っていました。
Andy was actually smoking ribs on the day since he wanted to try some new recipes before the rib contest he annually participates in.





4種類ほど違うレシピを試したそうです。どれも美味しかったよ。
He did some experiments with 4 different recipes, and I liked them all.




で、AndyっちもHit-chanも前日に頑張ってお料理作ったりして疲れていたので、眠くならないうちにプレゼントとカードを渡すことにしました。
Both Andy and I worked hard on cooking and hosting Dad&Mom and Brad on the day before, so I decided to give Andy a card and presents before we got too tired.





まずはビールという事で、Andyっちの好きなビールをプレゼント。
First off, beer for our beed man.





ただしケースがカスタム仕様。めいからのメッセージが入っています。
The box was actually customized and had a message from May-chan.





そして、カード。めいから1枚。
A card from May-chan.




Hit-chanからも1枚渡しました。
One from me too.





次はプレゼント開封。
Then, it's time to open the presents!




まずはゴルフバッグに付けるネームプレート。めいからのメッセージ、"Love you, Daddy! May-chan"と入ってます。
This is a name plate for a golf bag. It says, "Love you, Daddy! May-chan".




これを買った後に、Andyっち、「そろそろゴルフバッグを新調しようかなぁ。」と言い始めたのでグッドタイミングでした。
From the time after I ordered this name plate, Andy started saying, "I want a new golf bag." So, it was a very nice timing.





次に、めいが生まれた日に撮ったAndyっちとめいの2ショットを入れたオリジナルフォトフレーム。これにもカスタムメッセージが入ってます。
Then, a customized photo frame with one of my favorite pictures of Andy and May. It's taken on May-chan's birth day.





最後はこちら。
This is the last one.





フォトアルバムで、めいとAndyっちが写っている写真を集めて作りました。
It's a photo album, and I collected pictures of Andy and May and made it.




どのプレゼントも喜んでくれたので、Hit-chan、頑張った甲斐がありました。
Andy loved every present, and it made me feel that my work and research were worth it.




で、無事にプレゼントを渡せたと思っていたら。。。
When I was relieved thinking that my mission was successfully done...,





もう1個プレゼントが！どうもめいが用意していたらしいです。By Andyっち。
Andy had another present in his hands! He said that May-chan got it for him.





中にはコロンボのブルーレイが！！！
Yay!! It's another "Columbo" Blue-ray!!!!




これにはHit-chanが興奮！！！
This present made me more excited than anybody else!!!




今年のバレンタインデーのプレゼントにAndyっちがHit-chanに「刑事コロンボ」のブルーレイをくれたんです。
On last Valentine's day, Andy gave me a first volume of "Columbo" Blue-ray.




それ以来、週末にコロンボナイトと称して一話ずつ一緒に観て楽しんでたんですが、先日もらったブルーレイに収められている全てのエピソードを観終わってしまったんですねぇ。
Since then, Andy and I sometimes had a "Columbo" night on weekends and enjoyed it a lot together. Though, we just finished all the episodes the other day.




なので、今回めいがAndyっちに「コロンボ」のブルーレイをプレゼントしてくれたお陰（ややこしい！）で、またAndyっちと2人でコロンボナイトを再開する事ができます。
So, thanks to May-chan giving the second volume of "Columbo" to Daddy (complicated!), Andy and I can restart fun columbo nights again!




こんな感じで、Andyっち初めての父の日、とっても喜んでもらえたので大成功でした。
Fortunately, Andy really had a great time on his first Father's day, and I'm very glad to be a part of it!





いつも家族の為に一生懸命働いてくれてありがとうね～！！！めいもHit-chanも愛してるよ！！
Thank you for working so hard for the family!! May-chan and I love you tons!!

6ヶ月検診 (6months Check-up)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




Hit-chanは元気です。
I'm doing well.




さて、5月末に無事6ヶ月になった我が家のめいですが、先日6ヶ月検診に行ってまいりました。
So, our loving daughter, May-chan turned 6months in the end of May, and Andy and I took her to her 6months check-up.




当初、5月29日にAndyっちの歯医者さんの予約があり、既にボスから半休の許可が出ていたので、「おー、それじゃあ、めいの検診も同じ日にすれば良いじゃん！」と同じ日に検診の予約を取っていました。
We're originally going to have an appointment on May 29th since Andy already had his dentist appointment on the day and had a permit to leave work early from his boss. So, why don't we have another appontment on the same day?




が、予約した日の数日前に病院から電話がありまして、留守番電話にメッセージが入っていました。
We thought that it was a great idea until I got a voice mail from the clinic a couple of days before the appointment day.




「こちら、○○クリニックの者です。めいちゃんの6ヶ月検診の予約が水曜日にあるんですが、実は、その日だと、めいちゃん、6ヶ月には1日足りないという事に気が付きまして、予約日の変更していただなくてはいけません。」
"This is xx from xx clinic. You have a 6month check-up for May on Wednesday, but we just noticed that the appointment is one day before May turns 6months. So, we need to ask you to reschedule the appointment."




がーん！
Dang!




これ、2ヶ月検診の時もあったんです。
Actually, we had the same situation for 2 months check-up.




どうも予防接種の関係で、どうしても既定の月齢を過ぎていないとできないらしいです。
It's due to a vaccination rule, and a baby must be older than the certain months.




たった1日なんですが、ダメなんだって。Andyっちガッカリ。
It's only one day younger, but there's no exception. Andy's disappointed a lot.




で、予約を取り直しまして、結局6月4日に検診に行ってきました。
Anyways, we rescheduled the appontment to 4 days after May-chan turned 6months.





この日もまずは身長、体重、頭囲などを測ってもらいました。
On the appointment, they started from measuring her hight, weight and head as always.




備忘録として、今までの成長記録。
This is a memo for myself in the future.




カッコ内の何位という数字ですが、パーセンタイルと言って、同じ月例、同じ性別の赤ちゃんの情報を100人並べて統計を取った時に、一番小さい方から1位、一番大きい方を100位とした時に、何位にあたるかというものです。
With all the measurement numbers, I put May-chan's percentile numbers in the parenthesis.




簡単に言えば、数字が小さい程小さい赤ちゃん、大きい程大きい赤ちゃん。50位だとちょうど真ん中という事になります。
If the percentile number is small, it means that the baby is smaller than the average, so if the percentile number is big, the baby is bigger than the average too. The 50th is right in the middle.




誕生時：身長48.3㎝、体重2430g、頭囲31.8㎝
Birth day: Height 19inch, Weight 5lb 5.7oz, Head 12.5inch



1ヶ月検診時：身長53㎝（19位）、体重3628g（6位）、頭囲35㎝（4位）、BMI値12.92（7位）
1month check-up: Height 1ft 8.87inch(19th), Weight 8lb(6th), Head 13.78inch(4th), BMI 12.92(7th)




2ヶ月検診時：身長55.6㎝（15位）、体重5201g（44位）、頭囲36.3㎝（3位）、BMI値16.82（73位）
2month check-up: Height 1ft 9.89inch(15th), Weight 11lb 7.5oz(44th), Head 14.29inch(3rd), BMI 16.82(73th)




4ヶ月検診時：身長59㎝（7位）、体重5414g（8位）、頭囲38.5㎝（5位）、BMI値15.56（22位）
4month check-up: Height 1ft 11.23inch(7th), Weight 11lb 15oz(8th), Head 15.16inch(5th),BMI 15.56(22nd)




6ヶ月検診時：身長65㎝（35位）、体重6350g（12位）、頭囲40.2㎝（6位）、BMI値15.03（9位）
6month check-up: Height 2ft 1.59inch(35th), Weight 14lb(12th), Head 15.83inch(6th), BMI 15.03(9th)





めいのパーセンタイルを見るとお分かりになると思うんですが、まぁ、50位より小さい順位ばっかりという事で、生まれた時から平均より小さい赤ちゃんです。
As you see May-chan's percentile numbers, she's a smaller baby since she's born.




まぁ、母親のHit-chanが日本でも小さいので、めいが小さい赤ちゃんであるのは自然な成り行きですね。
I'm a small person even in Japan, so it makes very sence that May-chan is a small baby too.




小さい赤ちゃんとは言え、順調に成長曲線通りに成長してくれているので、今の所は問題ありません。
Even though May-chan is a small baby, she's grown up nicely follwing in the growth curve. So, everything is great.




検診ではいつも先生から、「何か聞きたい事などはありますか？」と尋ねてもらえるんですが、この日は、便秘にならないようにする方法を聞きました。
On every check-up, our doctor always kindly asks us, "Is there anything you want to ask or concern?" So, I asked her if there's any good tip to prevent constipation this time.




先生の答えは、プルーン、梨、桃などをあげると便秘予防になるとの事で、この日以来、プルーンは毎日あげるようにしています。
Then, she taught me that I could give May-chan prune, pear or peach to soften stool, and I've been feeding her prune every day since the appointment day.





で、この日も予防接種がありました。
So, May-chan had to get vaccination shots on the day too.





今回もダディに抱っこしてもらって待機。まだ何が起こるか分かってないので、ちょっと心が痛い。。。
Daddy held her while we're waiting for the shots. She didn't know what's going to happan and looked so happy, so I felt so bad.





まずは痛くない経口のものから。。。スプーンでの「ごっくん」が上手くできるようになっているので、ここはスムーズでした。
The first one was liquid, and she just needed to drink it. She now knows how to swallow liquid from a spoon, so it went really well.




で、注射。痛いよねぇ。
Then, the least favorite ones. I know, hon, it hurts.




この日は過去2回よりも1本少ない注射だったので、今回はちょっとはマシだったかなぁ。
She took one less shots than the last 2 appointsments, so it was a little bit better this time.





ダディにまた抱っこしてもらいました。
Daddy gave her a big and warm hug again.




過去に注射した後にすぐミルクをあげたら落ち着いたので、今回も用意はしていたんですが全く飲まず。
In one of the last shot experiences, we could calm her down by giving her milk, but she didn't want any this time.




でも、Hit-chanとAndyっちが交代で抱っこしたら落ち着いて、帰りの車の中では眠っていました。
Though, Andy and I held and soothed her in turn, and then she fell asleep in my car on way home.




最近はほぼ毎日お風呂に入れているんですが、予防接種をした日はスキップするようにしているので、この日はお風呂はなし。
I actually bathe May-chan pretty much everyday but try to skip it on the days she got shots, so I didn't give her a bath on that day.





家に帰ってからは、普段通りのめいに戻って機嫌よく遊んでいました。この日、看護師さんに「まだ早いだろうけど。。。」と「がんばったねシール」をいただいたんですが、ママにおでこに貼られてしまいました。(笑)
After we got home, she was back to normal and played as well as usual. At the clinic, the nurse kindly gave May-chan a sticker saying, "You're probably still too young for this." So, mom put it right on her forehead so that everyone can see it that May-chan did a great job. Haha.




そんな訳で、6ヶ月検診も予防接種も無事終了しました。
Anyways, May-chan's 6months check-up and shots went really well like this.

パパと一緒に父の日・後編 (Father's day with Dad, vol.2)

How's everything going today?




さて、今日は前回の記事の続きです。
Okay, I want to write about the rest of our Father's day today.




今年の父の日ですが、前日の土曜日にパパママとブラッド君を我が家に招いて一緒にお祝いをしました。（この日の主役はパパ、めいにとってのグランパね）
On Saturday, the day before Father's day, we invited Dad&Mom and Brad to our house and celebrated Father's day together. (The main guest of the day was, of course, Dad. May-chan's Grandpa)




前回の記事では朝に上手い具合に雨を避けて、パパ、Andyっち、Hit-chanの3人でゴルフを楽しみ、その後家でみんな一緒にご飯を食べました。
On the last article, I talked that Dad, Andy and I nicely skipped the rain clould and played golf together in the morning. And then, we had a nice BBQ meal together with everybody at our house.




で、美味しいご飯の後にカードとプレゼントの贈呈式がありました。（大げさ！笑）
After the delicious meal, we had a ceremony to give Grandpa cards and a present. (I just called it a ceremony, but it wasn't such a big thig. Haha.)




食後に自分の分とママの分のコーヒーを淹れていたら、「Hit-chan、早く、早く！」と急かされたので、コーヒーをそっちのけでリビングに行くと。。。
I was actually brewing some coffee for mom and myself at the time, but everybody called me, "Hit-chan, come over here!" from the living room. So, I paused to make the coffee and went to the livign room shortly.





めいからグランパへのカード贈呈式が始まっていました。無事、大事な瞬間をカメラに収める事ができました。
Then, May-chan was handing her card to Grandpa by herself! Thanks to everyone, I could catch the precious moment in my camera.



カードはめいから１枚、AndyっちとHit-chanから１枚渡しました。
One card from May-chan and one from Andy and me.




で、プレゼント。パパの一番好きな色は赤なので、リボンは赤いのにしたよ。
Here's the present. I used red ribbon and bow for the wrapping because it's Dad's favorite color.




もちろん、みんな注目してます。(笑)
Yup,　everybody was watvhing Dad opening the present.

じゃじゃーん！めいの写真がプリントされたマグです！
Ta-da!! It's a customized mug with May-chan's pictures.

I assume that some of my blog fans would already notice this, but...





このマグ、母の日のプレゼントでママにも渡しました。
Yup, we gave a customized mug to Mom on Mother's day too!




これはママのなんですが、パパのは違う写真を使ってます。
This one is Mom's, and Dad's one has different pictures on it.



喜んでもらえたので良かったです。
I'm glad that Dad loved it too!




で、最後に久しぶりに記念撮影。ちょうどこの瞬間にめいはあくびをしておりますが。(笑)
I also took a family photo after a while too. May-chan was actually yawning right at this moment. LOL




ちなみに記念写真の左側に映り込んでいるのは、Play Penという柵です。（画像拝借元）
Yeah, the play pen is in the way.




めいが窮屈に感じないように大きめを購入したので、我が家のリビングのかなりのスペースを取られてます。（汗）
We bought something big enough for May-chan to be able to move around, which means that it took a lot of space in our living room. Haha




とにかく、パパがとっても喜んでくれたので、AndyっちもHit-chanもハッピーでございました！
Anyways, both Andy and I were very happy that Dad had a great time with us!

パパと一緒に父の日 (Father's day with Dad)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?




さて、先月は母の日がありましたが、今月は父の日がありましたねぇ。
So, we had mother's day last month and father's day this month.




今年の父の日は、前日の土曜日にパパママ＆ブラッド君と一緒に我が家でお祝いする事にしました。
On Saturday, the day before Father's, we decided to celebrate it together with Dad&Mom and Brad at our house.




この日の朝、折角なのでパパ、Andyっち、そしてHit-chanの3人でゴルフをする事になっていました。
Andy, Dad and I were going to play golf together first in the morning.




めいが生まれてからHit-chanがコースに出てプレイするというのはが難しくなったのですが、ママがベビーシッターを引き受けてくれたお陰で久しぶりにプレイする事ができました。
Since May-chan was born, it's been harder for me to play on a course, but Mom offered us to babysit May-chan in the morning, and I gratefully took the opportunity.





当日は生憎の曇り空で、雨雲の塊が近づいておりました。
The weather was not so good in the morning and a rain cloud was getting closer where we were going to play.





が、レーダーによるとその雨雲もすぐに通過するとの事で予定通り決行。
Andy consistently checked a weather radar and found out that the rain cloud would pass through.





Hit-chan達のティータイム5分前くらいに強い雨が。。。
It rained so hard about 5 mins before our tee time.





ですが、ティータイム頃には止んでくれたので、いざスタート！
Though, how lucky we were! The rain stopped right before we started playing.





イースターの翌日にもこの3人でプレイしたので、それ以来です。
The last time that the 3 of us played together was the day after Easter.





2ヶ月ブランクが空いたので、Hit-chan、感覚を取り戻すのに時間がかかりました。
I hadn't played for 2months and took some time to get my usual swing back.




その後、雨も降らずに18ホールを全部回る事ができました。
Once we started playing, the weather stayed okay enough for us to play the entire 18 holes.




Hit-chan個人的にはスコアはよろしくなかったですけど、久しぶりにゆっくりゴルフができて楽しかったです。
Personally, my score wasn't the best, but I really had a great time.




良かったのは、連日のめいのお世話で前よりも体力がついたのか、ゴルフをプレイしていても「疲れたなぁ～。」と感じる事が無かったことです。
There's one good thing that I noticed through playing golf after a while, and it was that I didn't get that tired as I used to. I guess that it's because I've been putting a lot of energy into taking care of May-chan everyday, and that made me a little stronger.





我が家に戻ってからは、BBQ担当のAndyっちの手伝いであまり写真が撮れなかったんですが、一緒に父の日ランチ。
After we're back home, Andy worked on getting a special meal ready, and I helped him too. So, I couldn't take as many pics as usual.

メインはいつものようにステーキ～！美味しかったです！
The main is our usual, steak!! It was super delicious, of course!
