７月１０日（月）快晴
函館からフェリーで大間に渡り、陸路むつ市へ。２月に肺癌でがんセンターに入院した兄は、５月にむつ総合病院に転院し、入院治療を続けています。むつ市は過疎化が進み寂れています。JRもいずれ廃線の運命にあるようです。昨夜は写真右に控えめにたたずむ駅に隣接したJR経営の宿に宿泊。かつては繁華街だった駅前は商店も食堂も店仕舞をして、夕食にありつくのに苦労しました。

We traveled from Hakodate to Ohma by ferryboat and to Mutu by rental car. My elder brother who has a lung cancer and had been in National Canser Centre last February has moved and hospitalized in Mutsu City Hospital in May. City Mutsu is getting depopulated and JR railways are going to be abolished. Last night we stayed at the motel that adjoins to the station moderately shown on the right of the photograph. In the area that used to be busy before has no more shopping centre or restaurants and it was very hard to find a place for dinner.
