年末に映画館のシニア・クラブに入会登録。入会金$7で1年間市内3館いつでも入場料が$7（通常料金$15）に割引。元旦から毎日シネマ通い。駄作も愚作も手当たり次第見ると目が肥えます。最近の名作や大作は難解でつまらない。映画も文学も本来は娯楽でしょう？人生は真面目さも大切だけど、何より楽しくないと。だから人生を描く映画も文学も楽しくなければ鑑賞する意味はありません。コーラとポップコーンとアイスクリームの優待割引もあるようですが、それは利用したことはありません。

I joined the Cinema Senior Club at the end of the year. You pay $7 entrance fee and you can go to 3 city cinemas anytime with $7($15 regular fee) for 1 year. I have been to the cinema every day since the New Year’s Day. It gives me an experienced eye for films as I have been seeing both good and bad films at random. Recently released masterpieces and spectaculars are difficult to understand and boring. Aren’t films and literature are supposed to be an entertainment? Although seriousness is important in life, pleasure is more important. So it is meaningless to appreciate films and literature that represent lives. Senior Club members seem to be able to get discount on coke, pop corn, and ice cream but I have never had them yet.
