さて、2月6日にめいの2か月検診に行ってきました。
Feb. 6th, we went to the clinic for May-chan's 2month check-up.
1か月検診の時にも言われていたんですが、この日は4種類の予防接種を受ける予定でした。
On her 1 month check-up, we're informed that they're going to do 4 kinds of vaccination on the next check-up.
病院についていつものように身長と体重などを測ったのですが、体重がかなり増えててびっくりしました。
After we checked in, they measured May-chan's weight, height and etc... and I was so surprised that she'd gained a lot of weight.
生まれた時 体重2430g 身長48.3㎝ 頭囲31.8㎝
On her birthday: weight 5lb 5.7oz, height 19inches, head 12.4inches
1か月検診 体重3628g 身長36.28㎝ 頭囲35㎝
1month: weight 8lb, height 1ft 8.87inches, head 13.78inches
2か月検診 体重5201g 身長55.6㎝ 頭囲36.3㎝
2month: weight 11lb 7.5oz, 1ft 9.89inches, head 14.29inches
と順調に成長してます。
Thankfully, she's been growing up well so far.
で、日本では分かりませんが、アメリカではパーセンタイル順位も教えてもらいます。
I'm not sure if they tell you this in Japan, but here in the US, they tell you the percentile of your baby in each measurement too.
パーセンタイル順位とは。。。
What percentile is...
パーセンタイルは、データを大きさ順でならべて100個に区切り、小さいほうからのどの位置にあるかを見るものです。 50パーセンタイルは、小さいほうから50/100のところにあるデータです。

percentile rank is typically defined as the proportion of scores in a distribution that a specific score is greater than or equal to. For instance, if you received a score of 95 on a math test and this score was greater than or equal to the scores of 88% of the students taking the test, then your percentile rank would be 88. You would be in the 88th percentile.

でね、めいは生まれた時の体重が3パーセンタイルという、下から3番目の小ささだったんですが、その後の経過はこんな感じです。
As for percentile, May-chan's weight was in 3rd percentile and she's so tiny at her birth, but after that, her growth has been like this.
1か月検診 体重（6パーセンタイル） 身長（19パーセンタイル） 頭囲（4パーセンタイル） BMI値（7パーセンタイル）
1month: weight (6th percentile), height(19th percentile), head(4th percentile), BMI(7th percentile)
2か月検診 体重（44パーセンタイル） 身長（15パーセンタイル） 頭囲（3パーセンタイル） BMI値（73パーセンタイル）
2month: weight(44th percentile), height(15th percentile), head(3rd percentile), BMI(73th percentile)
と、体重は1か月検診の時には下から6番目だったのが、一気に44番目までに。
Her weight percentile became up to 44th from 6th at 1month check-up.
BMI値に至っては、下から7番目だったのが、73番目（上から27番目）と大きい方に入ってました。
As for her BMI, it's turned 73th percentile from 7th for the last 1month.
とはいえ、身長も頭囲もまだまだ小さいほうなのですが、このまま一杯ミルクを飲んで大きくなっていってくれれば言う事なしです。
Though, her height and head are still on the lower side in the percentile and I hope that she'll keep drinking milk well and get bigger and bigger just as she's been.
担当の先生も、パーセンタイル順位が低くても一定の曲線で大きくなっていれば問題ないとの事でした。
Her doctor also said that we didn't have to worry even if she's in low percentile as far as she's surely growing up at a constant rate.
で、この日のメインイベント、予防接種。
Then, let me talk about the main event of the day, the vaccinations.
この日受けたのは、B型肝炎、Dtap（ジフテリア・破傷風・百日咳）、インフルエンザB、PCV13（肺炎球菌結合型ワクチン）、ポリオ、ロタウィルスの4種類。
On the day, she took 4 kinds, Hepatitis B, Dtap, Infulenza B, PCV13, Polio and Rotavirus.
B型肝炎に関しては、生まれた日にも予防接種を受けたので、今回で2回目になります。
Speaking of Hepatitis B, she took her 1st one when she's born, so this was her 2nd one.
予防接種を受けるにあたって、服を全部脱がせておむつだけにさせないといけませんでした。
We needed to take her clothes off to get her shots on her thighs.
Andyっちがやってくれました。
Andy took care of the part.
寒くないようにと看護師さんが来るまでAndyっちが抱っこしてました。
We didn't want make her feel too cold, so Andy was holding her in his arms until they got the shots ready.
ダディの腕の中は結構居心地よかったようで、あくびまでしてました。
May-chan was relaxed so much enough to yawn in her daddy's arms.
最初のワクチンは口から飲ませるものだったので、めいも泣かずに大人しくしてました。
The first viccine was a drop taken through mouth, so May-chan was staying fine and quiet.
あ、でもここで大きなおならしてました。しかもウンチが近かったので、結構くさいやつ。(笑)
Oh, she farted then. Yeah, smelly one. Sorry!
いよいよ来ました。マミーとダディもドキドキ。
Okay, the time had come! Daddy and Mommy were nervous too.
きたー。
Here we go!
やっぱり泣いたー！
Yup, she cried!
でもね、本当にやってくださった看護師さんがすごく上手で、3本の注射をするのに10秒もかかってなかったんじゃないかな？
What a great job by the nurse! She's super amazing and only took less than 10 seconds to do all 3 shots.
見ていた私たちも、「え、もう終わったの？！」とビックリするくらいの速さでした。
We're watching it and both Andy and I were surprised like, "What?! Did she already finish it?!"
看護師さんのアドバイスで注射後すぐにミルクを上げると泣き止み、随分と落ち着きました。
According to their advice, we bottle-fed May-chan right after the shots and then she got calm down shortly.
その日と翌日はやっぱりいつもより愚図ってましたが、2日も経てば平常通りに戻りました。
On the day and the next day, May-chan was a little fussier than usual, but she was back to normal in 2 days.
太ももにマイリトルポニーの絆創膏を3枚も貼ってもらいました。頑張った勲章なんで、自然に剥がれるまでそのままにしておいたよ。
She got 3 "My little ponny" Band Aids! I kept them until they naturally got peeled off since they're her medals for the big challenge.
とにかく、無事に予防接種が終わりホッとしたAndyっちとHit-chanでした。
Anyways, both Andy and I were so relieved that her vaccinations were done without any problem.
