How's your life going?
こちらミネソタ、過ごしやすい天候が続いており、寒くなる前にいっぱい外遊びやプレイデートをしようとせっせと毎日動いております。
As for my life here in MN, the weather has been really nice and comfy and I'm setting up as many play dates or outdoor activities as possible before it gets too cold.
そんな充実した日々を過ごさせてもらっているので、ブログの更新がいつも以上に遅れる事が多々あるとは思いますが、気長にお待ちいただけると幸いです。
So, such a fun and busy life might make me take more time to update my blog than usual, but I'd appreciate your patience ahead.
さて、今日も京都滞在記です。
Okay, this is another article of my Kyoto diary.
日本滞在にも大分なれてきた頃、めいさんも人見知りの殻を破って、初めて会う人や久しく会ってなかった人に対しても全く臆せず接する事ができるようになっていました。
When May-chan's getting used to life in Japan, she broke her shell and became more friendly even with someone who she hadn't met for a long time or she met for the first time.
そんな京都滞在中盤戦、Hit-chanの事を生まれる前から知ってくださっている母のママ友さん達とお会いしてきました。
Around the middle of the stay in Kyoto, Andy, May-chan and I made a reunion with my mom's old friends who had known about me even since before I was born.
有難いことに、日本に住んでいた頃も、たまに開かれるHit-chanの母世代のママ友会に参加させてもらってたんですが、ミネソタに来てからも日本に帰る度に機会があればママ友会を開いてもらっています。
Thankfully, I used to hang out with them often and join and had much fun at their home parties when I lived in Japan and even after I moved to MN, every time we got a chance to visit Japan, they kindly welcomed us by having a home party.
上の記事はAndyっちと2018年に帰った時。
This is when Andy and I were in Japan for IVF in 2018.
こちらはめいが10ヶ月くらいの時に一緒に帰って、初めて皆に紹介できた時の様子。
This is when I took May-chan to Japan when she's around 10months old and made the first meeting with the friends.
今回の帰国でも、我が家3人が帰る事をお知らせして声をかけたら、いつものように温かく迎えて入れてくださって、恒例の一品持ち寄りパーティーを開く事ができました。
For this trip, I let them know that we all were coming to Japan beforehand. Then, they were excited for our visit and kindly made a potluck home party just as always.
お久しぶりでーす！めいは10ヶ月の頃にDさんとは会っていますが、多分覚えていないでしょ。(笑) でもでも、人見知りの殻を破っためいは、いつもお宅を貸してくださるAさんの家に着いて早々、心許してブロックで遊び始めました。
Long time no see!! May-chan made the first meeting with D-san when she was 10 months old, but I bet she didn't remember that. LOL Though, she'd been out of her shelf at the time, so she started playing with D-san right after we got to A-san's house. A-san is always so generous to open her house for our parties.
テーブルの上には美味しそうなお料理がいっぱい。
（Aさん特製のちらし寿司にHit-chanの母のポテトサラダなどなど。Hit-chanはAndyっちのスパイスを皆に試してもらう為に唐揚げを作っていきました。）
Look at the feast on the table!
(A-san made the beautiful sushi and my mom brought her special potato salad. Me? I made some Japanese style fried chicken called "Karaage" so that they could try Andy's special seasonings with them.)
Andyっちのスパイスを知らないという方の為に。
For those who don't know about Andy's special seasonings.
めいさんもとっても嬉しそう。Andyっちも久しぶりの再会を楽しんでました。
May-chan seemed super happy. Andy was also enjoying the reunion too.
AさんもDさんも、Hit-chanの母のママ友なので、Hit-chanが小さい頃からずーっとその成長を見守ってくださってきました。
Both A-san and D-san have been mom friends with my mom and watched my growing for a long, long time since when I was a child.
日本にいた頃も、若かりしHit-chanがどれだけアメリカに行きたいかを熱弁するのを、「うん、うん。」と嫌な顔もせず聞いてくださってのを覚えています。
When I lived in Japan, Hit-chan back then, the young and passionate dreamer, often talked to them how much she wanted to move to the US. I remember that some people were very skeptical about my dream plan and gave me negative words about it, but my mom friends always generously took their time listening to me with positive words back.
そんなHit-chanがその後無事アメリカに来て、Andyっちと幸せな家庭を築いて、めいを授かったという経緯も全部ご存知で、こうやって帰国する度にAndyっちとめいを連れて近況報告ができるのが幸せでございます。
Such a young and passionate girl later turned be current Hit-chan who's married to the best and perfect man in the world and welcomed a beautiful daughter with him. What's very happy to me that I can bring Andy and May-chan with me and tell them that I've been having such a happy life in MN.
無事、ミネソタからのお土産も渡す事ができました。もちろんAndyっち特製スパイスも渡しました。
Anyways, I brought a couple of gifts for them including Andy's spice mix, of course, and gladly they liked them.
皆さんと昔話やら近況やらを楽しく話しているとあっという間に時間が過ぎてしまい、お開きの時間が近づいてきました。
Time always flies so quick when you're having a great and fun time with your loved ones. We had to say good-bye to them.
これも恒例ですが、折角なので、最後は皆で記念撮影を。
Before we left, I wanted to do a tradition, taking a picture, with them.
記念撮影の前のお片付けもめい、しっかり手伝ってくれました。
Before we did it, May-chan helped to clean the table really well.
はい、チーズ！！皆素敵な笑顔で撮れました。
Cheese!! What a nice shot!
という訳で、今回の帰国でも無事恒例の母世代のママ友会を開く事ができ、我が家3人もそこに便乗させてもらい、楽しい時間を過ごす事ができました。
Okay, this is how we all had a very good time at the fun home party with my mom and her mom friends! I really appreciated the opportunity that we could hang out together again!
