英語のなぞなぞ その４(Popsicle Quiz4)

さて、今日は軽く英語なぞなぞです。
Okay, I want to share another Popsicle quiz here today.

では、問題です。。。
Okay, here's the question.



"Why did John eat the test?"
「ジョン君はどうしてテスト用紙を食べちゃったんでしょう？」





はい、シンキングタイム！！！
Okay, thinking time!




チクタク、チクタク、チクタク・・・
tick-tack, tick-tack, tick-tack...
















はい、時間です。答えはですねぇ。
Okay, it's time. The answer is...




"Because the teacher said it's a piece of cake!"
（だって、先生が「そんなの"Piece of cake"=簡単な事だよ！」と言ったから。）




英語の表現で"Piece of cake"と直訳すれば「ケーキ一切れ」という意味なんですが、慣用句としして、「簡単なこと、楽なこと」という言い方があるんです。
If you directly translate "A piece of Cake", it means as it is, but it also has another meaning as an idiom which means "An easy task".



この表現を知っていたら「あ～、そういう事ね。」と分かると思いますが、知らなかったら意味不明のままですよね。(笑)
If you already knew the idiom, this quiz might be too easy, but if you didn't, it'd be too tough. Haha.
