ムール貝

一口にケアンズと言ってもいささか広うござんして、キュランダもポートダグラスもケアンズの一部です。ハイウエイが市郊外を100ｋｍ南北に走り、市の端から端まで車で2時間かかります。僕のアパートからポートダグラスまでは景色の良い海岸線を1時間北上。名物の日曜マーケットを覗いてからランチ。海辺のビストロでユミの大好物のムール貝を注文。しかしユミはフリーマントルのムール貝が世界一と固く信じています。僕はギリシャも捨てがたいと思うけど。

Mussels
Sun. January 10 : fine occasisonally rainy

Cairns is a quite vast city; Kuranda and Port Douglas both belong to this city. The highway penetrates the city for 100km from north to south and it takes 2 hours to go from end to end of it by car. We drove for 1 hour from our apartment to Port Douglas on the scenic coastline for north. After visiting the noted Sunday flea market we ordered mussels, Yumi’s favorite at the bistro on the beach. She believes mussels in Freemantle are the best. I think the Greek ones are also very good.
