□ MacBook AirとiPad2の両刀で、カウチポテトでも劇的に作業効率が上がった。リファレンスモニターとしてのiPadが優秀過ぎる。

ソドムの伝承は紀元前3000年前、気候学分野では氷中成分の解析で、その頃に大規模な気候変動があったことが立証されている。他の大陸でも同時期に滅びた文明があったとのこと。見る限り、この番組はどちらかというとオカルトじゃなくて固いドキュメンタリーなので、後で関連論文漁ってみようかな。

A psychological model related to the process of memorizing and forgetting is also demonstrated using the inorganic synapses. A team of researchers led by Anton Zeilinger at the University of Vienna and the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences used a system which does not allow for entanglement, and still found results which cannot be interpreted classically.
The physicists used a "qutrit" ? a quantum system consisting of a single photon that can assume three distinguishable states. "We were able to demonstrate experimentally that quantum mechanical measurements cannot be interpreted in a classical way even when no entanglement is involved," Radek Lapkiewicz explains.

昨日なんとなくマンデルブロのフラクタル幾何学を立ち読みしてたらチャイティンの仕事への言及があったけど、マンデルブロは70～80年代からチャイティンの仕事を知ってたのか。当時からフラクタルとランダムネスの繋がりはなんとなく見えてたのかな。
フラクタル次元（ハウスドルフ次元・パッキング次元）がある種の特別なケースにおいてはコルモゴロフ複雑性の増大度で特徴付けられるよの定理は何年だったかな。たぶん証明したのはルッツかマヨードモかその辺なので、そんなに昔じゃないはず。
