How's your day going today?
我が家は今日、Andyっちのお仕事が終わってからパパママの新居にお泊りさせてもらいに行きます。
Today we're going to Dad&Mom's house up north when Andy's done with his work.
自粛生活で全くどこにも行っていない中、本当に久しぶり、クリスマス以来のお出かけになります。
We've been quarantined and never been out to anywhere since Dad&Mom's for Christmas, so this is the first time to go out as a family of 3 in a long time.
私達だけじゃなくてパパママの方も同じ状況で、パパはリタイアして以来毎日新居での作業をしており、ママは今も仕事を続けているものも在宅勤務になっているので、買い物に出かけたりする以外は家を出ておらず、私達の訪問を楽しみにしてくれているようです。
Not only for us, this situation is pretty same for Dad&Mom too. Dad's been retired and working on their new cabin everyday and Mom's still working from home too, so they haven't been to anywhere except for essential errands like grocery shopping. So, I hear that they're so excited for our visit too!
さて、2月14日はバレンタインデーでしたね！
February 14th was Valentine's day!
めいが観ている幼児番組に「ダニエルタイガー」というものがあるんですが、ビックリしたのが、その番組内でもバレンタインデーをテーマにした内容をやっていたんですが、「ハッピーバレンタインデー！」という代わりに、「ハッピーラブデー！」という挨拶をしていました。
When May-chan and I were watching the kids' show called "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood", I heard the characters saying, "Happy Love Day!" instead of "Happy Valentine's Day!".
クリスマスもそうですが、特定の宗教に偏らないようにという配慮で、「メリークリスマス！」じゃなくて「ハッピーホリデー！」と言うのがCMなどでは当たり前になっているんですが、バレンタインデーもその波の中に入り始めたんだなぁと感じました。
（Hit-chan個人はキリスト教信者じゃないですけど、メリークリスマス！でもハッピーバレンタインデー！でも、そう挨拶してもらえたら嬉しいですけどね。Hit-chanの中ではその言葉がどの宗教から来ようとも、言葉尻よりも言ってくれた相手の優しさの方が大切ですもん。）
It's same as the greetings in Christmas too. They've recently more cared about the way to greet in religious events so that they don't have to offend other people trust in other religions. I've been used to hear "Happy Holidays!" instead of "Merry Christmas!", but it was still surprising and new to me that they were saying "Happy Love's Day!" instead of "Happy Valentine's Day! on the show.
(Me personally, I'm not Christian, but not offended to be greeted "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Valentine's Day!" at all. In my own opinion, whichever religion the words or events come from, I just feel thankful that somebody sends me love through the happy greetings. To me, the kindness is more important than just what words to be used.
とにかく、今日は我が家のバレンタインデーの様子をシェアしたいと思います。
Anyways, today I want to share how we celebrated Valentine's day this year.
今年のバレンタインデーは日曜日だったのですが、夕方までは特にいつもと変わらない時間を過ごし（ゴロゴロしてました。）、夕方になって事前に予約していたディナーをAndyっちがピックアップしに行ってくれました。
It was Sunday this year, but both Andy and I were kind of being lazy until the evening just as our usual weekends. Haha. Though, in the early evening, Andy went to pick up our fancy dinner which we had preordered on the day before.
そしたら、ご飯と一緒にこんなに綺麗なお花も持って帰ってきました。このお花も事前に予約しておいてくれたらしいです。
（基本的に花より団子なHit-chanなので、AndyっちがHit-chanの為に花を買うのは滅多にないのですが、やっぱりこうやってサプライズで花をプレゼントしてもらうと嬉しいもんですね。）
When he's back home, besides the take-out foods, he brought this beautiful flowers in the house. He said that he also had preordered these flowers for me beforehand.
(I'm a girl who really like practical gifts in general, so Andy doesn't get me flowers often, but still it's very heartwarming to receive beautiful flowers like this for sure.)
早速テーブルの上にお花とご飯を並べて、乾杯！！
We set up the table with the special dinner and the beautiful flowers and then cheers!
これはカラマリ。Hit-chanがここ最近ずっとカラマリ（イカの揚げ物）を食べたかったのも相まってめちゃくちゃ美味しかった！
Calamari. I'd been craving for Calamari for a while and finally could enjoy it! Super yummy!!

本当はこれにパンとメインにはステーキがあったんだけど、写真を撮り忘れ。（汗）
We actually also had some bread and the main dish, Fillet Mignon, but I forgot to take pictures of them. Hehe.
Hit-chanはステーキを食べる前にお腹いっぱいになりまして、Andyっちも「食べ過ぎた～。苦しい～！」
と久しぶりのご馳走を目一杯堪能しました。
I actually got full before I reached the steak plate and Andy was saying, "I ate too much! I'm so stuffed." Yeah, we both really enjoyed the fancy dinner.
めいは変な時間に間食でクラッカーを爆食いしたのでお腹が空いておらず、パンをあげたりしてもほとんど食べませんでした。
We shared some of the fancy dishes with May-chan too, but she had eaten bunch of crackers as a snack on an odd timing, so she even didn't eat much of the bread though she usually loved bread.
美味しいディナーの片づけをした後はプレゼントタイム！
After the fancy and delicious dinner, we had a present time!
まずはめいからダディにカードとプレゼント。

大きいプレゼントの2つ。
one big box.
小さいのはBBQする時に炭に火を付けやすくする為に着火剤。大きい方はダディの好きなオリーブ。カードは自分で色を塗ったひよこちゃんとハートが付いていました。
The small one was fire starters so that Daddy can start fire with no effort. The big one was 3 jars of Daddy's favorite olives, Picholine olives. On the card, she put a couple of cute chicks and hearts that she painted on her own.
ちょっと長くなりそうなので、今日はこの辺で区切りたいと思います。
Okay, it's going to be longer than I thought, so I want to end this here for today.
