さて、前回、前々回と我が家の愛娘めいの3歳の誕生日の様子をシェアさせてもらったのですが、今日で最後、後半と言いますか、おまけのような内容をお届けしていきたいと思います。
Okay, I've been talking about how we celebrated our loving daughter, May-chan's 3rd birthday in the last 2 articles and this is the last one.
めいの誕生日が近づいたある日、ママ友の梅ちゃんから「今からちょっと渡したい物があるから行っても良い？」と連絡をもらい、その日は家でゴロゴロしていたので、「もちろん～！」とお返事をしました。
One day when May-chan's birthday got closer, I got a text from my friend, Ume-chan, saying, "I got something for May-chan, so can I come over today?" I was being lazy at home that day, so "Sure!" I answered.
で、梅ちゃんと小梅ちゃん（梅ちゃんの娘ちゃんでめいの同級生）と小梅ちゃんのお姉ちゃんの3人で我が家まで来てくれ、「お誕生日おめでとう！」
とめいにプレゼントをくれました。
Ume-chan showed up with her 2 girls, Koume-chan (May-chan's classmate at Japanese school) and her big sister and they kindly dropped of a present for May-chan saying "Happy Birthday!!"

プレゼントにこちらの素敵な絵本をもらいました。
The present was this cute book.
実は我が家のめい、以前から決まった絵本しか読みたがらず、Hit-chanが新しい絵本を読ませようと本棚から取り出しただけで、「しない～！」と拒絶するんです。
Actually, May-chan'd been stuck to certain titles of books for a long time and if I bring out a new book from the bookshelf, "No!!!!" she rejects it so hard.
なので、本を読むとしても小さい頃からずーっと読んでいる本ばっかりになってしまっています。
So, I'd been only able to read some same titles over and over which she's familiar with since she was little.
でもね、小梅ちゃんからもらったこの本は、その夜の読み聞かせの時間に早速、「さかなさんの本する。」と自ら持ってきたんです。
Though, what a surprise! She brought me the fish book saying, "I'll do this fish book." when we were doing our usual bed-time reading that night.
私達からのプレゼントであるノンタンの本も、上で言ったような理由もあって、「読みたがらないかもなぁ。」と心配していたんですが、どうやらめいの中ではプレゼントでもらった本は読んでも良いというルールがあるらしく、小梅ちゃんからもらった本も、新しいノンタンの本もむしろ読みたがるという反応でした。
From the reason that I said above, I also wasn't sure if she'd like to read the books that Andy and I gave her for a BD present, but it's a happy surprise that she accepted the new books without any hesitation at all and even looked happy and excited to read them.
なので、これからは今まで開こうともしていない本は一回ラッピングして改めて渡そうかなぁと思ったりしてます。(笑)
So, I guess that I should wrap all the books that she didn't let me read and give them to her as a present again. LOL
あと、メレちゃんのパパママであり、AndyっちとHit-chanの良き友人であるトム＆キャットからもプレゼントをもらいました。
Lucky (or spoiled) May-chan also got a present from Tom&Kat, Daddy&Mommy of Mere-chan (Baby-Meredith.
磁石の付いた積み木で、積み上げて遊ぶというよりもボードに貼り付けて色んな形を作るというような遊び方をするタイプです。
It's wood blocks with magnets on one side, and you play with them making shapes rather than building them up.
普段からブロック遊びが好きなので、この積み木も喜んで遊んでいました。
She loves playing blocks in general, so was excited with these new blocks too.
ちなみにこの二人、相変わらず仲良くしております。
BTW, the 2 girls still get along together lately.
メレちゃん、最近は目の前にあるものに興味を示すようになりました。
Mere-chan's recently more curious about things in front of her eyes.
あと、おまけですが、今年のケーキについて備忘録。
At last, I want to leave a note about the cake for myself in the future.
今年のケーキはノンタンがテーマで、ノンタンや仲間たちは皆ショートブレッドクッキーで作りました。
This year's theme was Nontan (May-chan's favorite cartoon character) and I made him and his friends with shortbread cookies.
めいが寝た後に夜なべをしてコツコツ作成。
I worked on the project for a couple of nights after May-chan went to bed.
ショートブレッドクッキーに、チョコレートで色と線を入れました。（色はホワイトチョコに食紅を使って。）
I draw with chocolate on the cookies. (I mixed white chocolate and food colors.)
タータンとか、サイズの小さい仲間たちは近くで見るとちょっと怖い。(笑)
I know, it's a little bit creepy when you look closer to the small ones. Haha.
今回、スポンジ部分はこちらのレシピを参考にさせていただいたんですが、ちょっと焼き過ぎたにも関わらず過去最高にしっとりとした美味しいスポンジができました。
（これからスポンジを作る時はこのレシピに決まりです。）
I made the sponge cake referred to this recipe. I accidentally overbaked it, but it's still moist and I'd say that it's the best cake ever that I'd ever made.
(I'm going to use this recipe next again.)
Andyっちはそれでもまだ「しっとり感がちょっと足りない。」ってさ。ここだけの話、それを聞いたHit-chan、「どんなけしっとり感求めんねん！」って思ったよ。（笑）
（ちなみに今まで作ったスポンジはHit-chanも少しパサパサするなぁと思ってたんですが、今回のは個人的にかなり満足な結果だったんです。）
Still, Andy said that it's a little dry. Honestly speaking, when I heard his comment, I thought, "How much you wanna make it moist!" LOL
(In my opinion, the cakes that I made before were a little dry, but this one was pretty moist and got a pass mark.)
と、こんな感じで、有難いことに家族以外の方からもプレゼントを頂いた我が家のめいさん、本当に恵まれております。
So, just as the last 3 articles about her birthday tell, our loving daughter's such a lucky girl to be loved by a lot of people in her life.
誕生日当日はリアル友達からたくさんお祝いのメッセージも頂いたし、色んな方々に見守ってもらって成長しているなぁと改めて感じ、感謝でいっぱいです。
I received many BD wishes from my friends on her birthday, which reminded me that I'm also lucky and supported by so many people in my life too. Thank you again, everyone.
そんな訳で、長々と書いてきためいの3歳の誕生日シリーズ、これにて終了です！

実はここだけの話、うちのめい、短足の両親に似て、脱ぐとあんまり手足が長くないんですよ。着やせならぬ、着なが？です。(笑)
みきさんもお体に気を付けてくださいね。計画されていたアメリカ旅行も行けなくなって残念です。我が家も早く日本に行きたいので、まだかまだかとコロナが終わってくれるのを待っています。
