6月の英名ジューンは、ローマ神話のジュピターの妻ジュノ（結婚生活の守護神）から。英語圏では気候の良い6月の結婚式が多いけど、日本は梅雨期の上、6月に祝日はないので秋の結婚式が多いそうです。テーブルランドの小さな村で、花嫁・花婿を乗せる白い馬車を見かけました。

The English name of June comes from Juno (the guardian god of married life) of Roman Myth, the wife of Jupiter. In English-speaking countries while there are lots of weddings take place in June when the weather is nice it’s rainy season without any national holidays in Japan. So fall is wedding season in Japan. I saw the white coach with a bride and a groom in a small village of Table Land.
