6月7日（火）快晴
17カ国から1500人の鉄人が参加。スイム3.8ｋｍ、バイク180ｋｍ、ラン42ｋｍ。優勝は8時間20分、ビリは17時間。朝6時スタートなので早起きして、弁当持参で見物に行きました。僕も日本で鉄人大会に参加していましたが、3種とも距離はフル鉄人の半分。体力差や会場確保の理由から日本では半鉄人大会が主流です。

1500 iron men from 17 different countries attended the race; 3.8km of swimming, 180km of biking and 42km of running. The winner’s time was 8 hours 20 minutes and the last’s 17 hours. As it started at 6:00am we got up early and went to see it with our lunch boxes. I used to attend the triathlon in Japan but each distance of those 3 events was half of that of a full iron man. From the reasons of physical strength and difficulties of security of site half-iron man race is the mainstream in Japan.
