豪州の樹木はほとんどが常緑樹ですが、マメ科の植物など8月にほとんど落葉する高木もあります。丸裸になった木のあちこちに大小さまざまの鳥の巣が見受けられます。この時期に鳥たちは抱卵しないようで、通年中繁殖期の南国でも8月は鳥のさえずりが幾分静かなようです。

Although most of trees in Australia are evergreen trees some high trees like leguminous plants lose their leaves in August. You can see bird nests here and there on the naked trees. In this season most birds don’t incubate and you hardly hear the song of the birds even in tropic area in where the birds seem to be having the breeding season through the year.
