我が家の独立記念日の過ごし方 その4(Family Time on the week of the 4th vol.4)

How's everything going in your life??





さて、今日も我が家の独立記念日の過ごし方の続きです。
Okay, I'll write more about our family's 4th of July week here today.





3日目のこの日、ママとパパがボートショップに行く用事があり、「ちょっと行ってちょっと帰ってくるだけやから、めいとHit-chanも一緒に来る？」と聞いてくれました。
On the 3rd day of our vacation, Dad&Mom were going to make a quick trip to a boat shop and asked me, "We're going to a boat shop. Do you and May wanna come with us?"






一応、仕事をしていたAndyっちにも確認を取って大丈夫だろうとの事だったので、一緒に行く事にしました。
Just in case, I double-checked with Andy if he thought it would be okay for us to go in a shop because he's more cautious and knowledge about COVID-19, and he said, "It should be fine."






Hit-chanは運転が好きじゃないし、この辺の地理も詳しくないので、ママがAndyっちの車を運転してくれ一緒に行きました。
（Andyっちの車にめいのカーシートを付けてあるからね。）
I'm not huge fan of driving a car in general and didn't know much about the directions in the area, so Mom drove Andy's car.
(Since May-chan's car seat was attached in his car.)





この日も結構暑い日でした。
It was a very hot and humid day.






泊まっている借家から車で5分くらいの所にあるボートショップ。ブラッド君も一緒だったよ。
From the rental place, only 5 mins drive to the boat shop. Brad came with us too.





お店の中には人はそれ程いなかったので、ソーシャルディスタンスを取るのも難しくありませんでした。
There were not many people inside the store, which made it easy for me to watch the social distance from other people
.






店内ではめいはママに抱っこしてもらっておりました。
Mom was holding May-chan most of the time in the store.





お店の中ではパパやブラッド君が必要な物を探しているのを待っているだけだったんですが、めいは久しぶりにお店という場所に来たので、周りにある商品を眺めているだけでも楽しそうでした。
The girl team (Mom, May-chan and I) were just waiting for Dad&Brad to find whatever they needed in the store, but it was very fascinating enough for May-chan to look at all the products around.






しかも、お店の中にはこんなに大きなグリズリーベアの剥製が飾ってあって迫力満点でした。
They even had this giant stuffed grizzly bear in the display, and it looked very powerful!





まぁ、こんな感じで3日目のメインイベントはボートショップに行って、5分程滞在して帰って来た事でした。
Yeah, this 5 min shopping at the boat store was the highlight of the 3rd day of our vacation. Hehe.






この日の晩御飯はどうしたんやろ？適当に食べたんやろうなぁ。(笑)
I even don't remember what we ate for dinner that day. I assumed that I cooked something simple which is very forgettable. LOL







めいのお風呂上りの一枚。めいはいつも晩御飯食べた後から寝るまでの間は機嫌が良くて、たまにハイパーにもなります。
This is a good pic of May-chan and Brad. May-chan is always in a good mood or even a hyper mood sometimes after dinner until her bed time.






そんな訳で、独立記念日前日の様子でございました！

我が家の独立記念日の過ごし方 その3(Family Time on the week of the 4th vol.3)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?





さて、今日も我が家が過ごした独立記念日の様子の続きを書いていきたいと思います。
Okay, I'll write about how we spent 4th of July week here again.






現在新居建設中のパパママが借りているお家に数日間泊まらせてもらったのですが、こちらの借家にはエアコンが付いておりませんでした。
We spent some days at the place that Dad&Mom rented while their cabin was being built, and the rental place didn't have an AC.







で、冬は極寒のミネソタで夏も過ごしやすい気候なんですが、この週は結構暑くて湿気も多く、こうやって皆で家の前のパティオで涼んで過ごしたりしていました。
MN winter is always freezing cold and the summer is usually nice climate too, but the week of the 4th of July was very hot and humid. So, we spent a lot of time on the outside patio in front of the house.






2日目のこの日にブラッド君も合流したので、この時間に遅くなった父の日と母の日のプレゼントをパパママに渡すことにしました。
Brad joined us on the 2nd day of the vacation, and we had a present time to give Dad&Mom belated Father's day and Mother's day gifts.







誰かが何か面白い事言ったみたいで、ママ、大笑いしています。
I remember that somebody said something funny and Mom was laughing it out.




プレゼントの中身は。。。
The present from us to Mom was...




ママの名前が印刷されたガーデニング用の手袋でした！
a pair of gardening gloves with her name printed on.




現在ママはまだお仕事をしていますが、あと数ヶ月でリタイア予定なので、そうなって新居に住めるようになったら時間もいっぱいできるだろうし、ガーデニングも思う存分して欲しいなぁという事で、ガーデニング用の手袋にしました。
Mom still works now but is going to retire in a couple of months. We picked up the gloves for her Mother's day gift so that she could spend a lot of her free time on gardening once she's retired and moved in the new cabin.






続いてはパパへ父の日のプレゼント。
Here was one for Dad.






中身は消防士さんが使っている手袋の素材を使ったBBQ用の手袋。つまり、熱さに強いって事です。
He got a pair of gloves too! They're BBQ gloves made with fabric which was used for fire fighters gloves, which means they're very good with heat!





別に意図した訳じゃないんですけど、パパにもママにも手袋のプレゼントになりました。(笑)
（もちろん、２人とも喜んでくれたので良かったです！）
We didn't think about the match, but ended up getting both of them gloves. Haha.
(They both liked the presents!)





ママが「３人一緒に撮ってあげる！」と言って、家族写真を撮ってくれました。（ママ、いつもありがと！）
"I'll take a picture of 3 of you guys." Mom kindly offered to take a picture for us. (Thanks Mom!)






この日の晩御飯もテイクアウト。バケーション中によく利用するピザ屋さんから。
We did take out that night again. We grabbed food from our usual pizza shop up north.






Hit-chanとママはカシュ―チキンサラダ。（Hit-chanがアメリカで一番好きなサラダ。）めいはHit-chanがめい用にトッピングを選んだピザ。
Mom and I had Cashew Chicken Salad. (That is my most favorite salad in the US.) I customized a pizza for May-chan too.





やっぱり外で一杯遊んでいるので、めいも結構パクパクご飯を食べてくれました。
May-chan played outside more than usual and ate very well too.






食後はめいをお風呂に入れて、リビングで皆で寛ぎました。
After the dinner, I bathed her, and we all just hung around in the living room.





ずーっと自粛生活で自宅以外で過ごしていなかったから、めいもいつもと違う環境をめちゃ楽しんでおりました。
We had been stuck home due to the quarantine life, so May-chan had much fun with being in the new and different place.





そんな訳で、バケーション？２日目はこんな感じで過ぎていきました。
Okay, this is all about the 2nd day of our vacation.

我が家の独立記念日の過ごし方 その２(Family Time on the week of the 4th vol.2)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's your day going today?





さて、今日も我が家の独立記念日週の過ごし方をシェアしていきたいと思います。
Today I want to share more about our family's 4th of July week.





独立記念日は7月4日なんですが、7月1日からパパママの借りているお家に泊まらせてもらいに行きました。
As you know, the independence day was 4th of July, but we went over Dad&Mom's rental place on the 1st.





いつもの夏のバケーションならば、ゴルフをしたり、釣りをしたり、ミニゴルフに行ったり、食事もレストランでしたりと色んなイベント事があるんですが、今年は社会的にはコロナの影響があり、家族的にはパパママが建設中の新居で作業しなくちゃいけなかったりと、基本的にAndyっち、Hit-chan、めいの3人は借家の中で時間を過ごしていました。
If it's our usual summer vacation, we enjoy golf, fishing, mini golf or eating out in Cross lake area. Though, COVID-19 pandemic has been going on this year in the world and Dad&Mom has been working on their new cabin in our family too, so Andy, May-chan and I basically spent most of the time at the rental place.





2日目の朝ですが、前回の記事で書いたようにめいが6時過ぎに起きたので一緒に借家の前をお散歩しました。
On the 2nd day of the vacation, May-chan woke up early around 6am, so we took a short walk in front of the rental place.







すると、パパがスーパーに行ってドーナツを買ってきてくれました！イェイ！
Dad went grocery shopping and got us donuts!! Yay!





実は借家にはクーラーが付いていなかったので、日中の暑い時間は家の前のパティオ（ウッドデッキ？）で涼みながらのんびりしていました。
The rental place actually didn't have AC, so we hung out on the patio in front of the house during the hot daytime.





この日はまだ平日だったので、Andyっちはお仕事をしており、Hit-chanとめいはお外で遊んだりしていました。
It was still a weekday, so Andy was working during the daytime in the house, and May-chan and I were playing outside a lot.













家からいつも使っているミニバスケットボールを持ってきたので、それで遊んだりもしました。
We brought the mini basketball that May-chan always played with, so she had fun with it as usual at the rental place too.






パパがめいの為にシャボン玉セットを買っておいてくれたので、それでも遊びました。
Dad had gotten a set of bubbles for May-chan, we enjoyed making bubbles too.






めいもめっちゃ喜んでました。
May-chan was super excited!





実はシャボン玉自体は地域の幼児クラスでよく登場していたアイテムだったんですが、めいさん、クラスでは全く興味を示していませんでしたが、この時はキャッキャ言いながら喜んでいたので、「シャボン玉の面白さが分かるようになったのかぁ。」と、そのちょっとした成長が嬉しかったです。
Actually, May-chan had seen bubbles in her toddler class before, but she didn't seem interested in it at all then. Though, she was so excited to play with the bubbles at the rental place, which made me feel, "Oh, she's grown up enough to have fun with bubbles now!" and happy.






いっちょ前にリラックス～。(笑)
Yup, she had a relaxing time on the chair too. LOL






すっごく暑かったので、水遊びもいっぱいしました。
It was very humid and hot out there, so we played with water a lot.






最初はプラスチックのスクープで水をすくうのも下手だったのに、ずーっと遊んでるとめっちゃ上手にできるようになってました。
May-chan couldn't scoop water well with the plastic spoon first, but mastered it very well on her own as playing with the water and the spoon for a while.






いつもと違ってグランパもグランマも一緒に遊んでくれるから、いつもより楽しいよね！
It's not usual for her to have somebody else around other than Daddy or Mommy, so she was very happy to have Granpa&Granma to play with at the time.





午後になってブラッド君も合流。
In the afternoon, Brad joined us too.





皆揃った所で、遅ればせながらの母の日と父の日のプレゼントを渡す事になりました。
When we were together, we decided to give Dad&Mom belated gifts for father's day and mother's day.

我が家の独立記念日の過ごし方 その１(Family Time on the week of the 4th vol.1)

Hello!






皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?






さて、我が家は夏になると毎年ではありませんが、パパママやブラッド君と一緒に家族でバケーションを過ごす事があります。
Our family, not annually, but often has some vacation time together in summer.






今年は皆さんもご存知の通りコロナで自粛生活が続いており、規制は色々と緩和されているとは言え、我が家では引き続き不要不急の外出はしないでいるのですが、さすがにずーっと自粛生活も息苦しくなってくるなぁという事で、気分転換にパパママの借りているお家に数日間泊まらせてもらおうという事になりました。
This year has been very unusual due to COVID-19 as you guys already know, and Andy, May-chan and I have tried to keep social distancing even though some businesses are reopened now. Still, it's kind of depressing to stay at home for a long time like this, so we decided to go over Dad&Mom's rental place up north and stay there for some days.








荷物を車に詰め込んで、道が混まない平日の水曜日の午後に家を出発。
We packed the car and left our house on the Wednesday afternoon since it's less traffic around the time.






めいのお昼寝の時間がいつも3時くらいなので、その時間に合わせて出発しました。
May-chan takes a nap around 3pm usually, so we left the house around the time too.






で、結構サクサクと進んで、その日の6時過ぎにパパママが借りているお家に到着。
As Andy expected and hoped, the traffic wasn't bad at all, and we could get to the rental place a little after 6pm.






こんな感じで木々に囲まれたお家です。
The rental house was surrounded by a lot of green trees like this.





この日はもう遅かったのと移動で皆疲れていたので、近くのレストランでテイクアウトして簡単に晩御飯を済ませて就寝。
We all were already tired from the long drive that night, so we got a take out from a casual restaurant nearby and went to bed.





翌日、めいが6時過ぎに目を覚ましたので、朝のお散歩に行きました。
In the next morning, May-chan woke up around 6am, and May-chan and I went out for a quick walk.






めいもいつもと違う雰囲気に嬉しそう。
May-chan looked so happy and enjoyed the unusual start of the day.











お散歩と言っても、借家の前の道をちょっと歩くだけです。
I said a walk, but we just hung around on the street in front of the rental place.





車も通る道だけど、全く交通量が無いので道の真ん中を歩いても大丈夫です。
Cars passed on the street, but there was no traffic in the early morning, and we could walk in the middle of the street.






めいも好きなように動いておりました。
I let May-chan walk freely as she liked too.






鳥のさえずりに耳を傾けたりしてね、自然のエネルギーを一杯感じられました。
May-chan enjoyed the tweet of birds, and I enjoyed the energy of nature too.





そんな訳で、こんな感じで我が家の独立記念日バケーション？が始まりました。
Anyways, this is how we started our 4th of July vacation this year.

ブラッド君のシークレットプロジェクト (Brad's Secret Project)

Hello everyone!






皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going in your life?






Hit-chanは独立記念日の日にこれを書いているんですが、現在いつもバケーションで過ごすCross Lakeという町の近くに来ています。
I'm writing this article on the 4th of July and now staying in Cross lake area where our family usually spend vacation.






パパパママの借りているお家に泊まらせてもらっているんですが、今日は朝からAndyっちとパパママが新居建設中の場所にめいを連れ出してくれているので、しばらくゆーっくりとYouTubeを観たり、こうしてブログを書く事ができました。
We're staying at Dad&Mom's rental place this time, and thanks to Andy for taking May-chan out to Dad&Mom's lot where their new cabin is being built, I could have some Me-time to watch YouTube or write my blog like this this morning.






さて、６月最後の日、ブラッド君から家族に「やっと、シークレットプロジェクトが終わったから、皆にお披露目するわ。」とお呼び出しがかかったので、皆で行ってまいりました。
So, this is about the last day of June, and we got a text from Brad, "My secret project is done, so I'll show it to you guys." so Andy, May-chan and I went to see it.






というのも、数カ月間前からAndyっちを通して、「どうもブラッドがシークレットプロジェクトなるものに取り組んでるらしいで。」という話を聞いていたので、Hit-chanとしては、「お、ついに完成したのね。」という気持ちでした。
As for his secret project, I'd occasionally heard Andy say, "Obviously, Brad's been working on a secret project for a while.", so when I got the invitation text from Brad, I thought, "Oh, finally I can see it!"






で、6月最後の暑いこの日、2時半にブラッド君の家に集合した後、そこからまた車で5分くらい走った所に到着。
The last day of June was super hot and humid. We and Dad&Mom gathered at Brad's house first and then drove 5 mins away from his house.







何か、ちょっとジャングルチックな入り口を抜けて。。。
We got to the entrance which looked a little bit like jungle.







で、ちょっと歩いて。。。まぁ、ここまで来たらプロジェクトが何だったかは分かりましたけどね。(笑)
Then, we walked a little bit. Yeah, some of you guys would know what Brad was going to show us at this point. Haha.






じゃじゃーん！こちらがプロジェクトの中身でした。
Ta-da! This was the secret project!






中古のボートを購入して、9ヶ月かけて修理していたのがやっと完成したそうです。
He bought a used boat and worked on repairing it for 9 months or so with help from his friends.







めいはボートよりも、水辺にいた鳥（グース）の方に興味津々。(笑)
May-chan was more excited to see geese than the boat. LOL







この後、パパママはブラッド君船長に連れられてテストクルーズに行きました。
Captain Brad took Dad&Mom a quick cruise after this.





私達はちょうどめいのお昼寝の時間だったのと、めちゃくちゃ暑かったのと、ライフジャケットが無かったなどなど、サプライズだったのでクルーズに行く準備は全くしていなかったので、そのままお家に帰りました。
It was super hot and humid at that time and right about May-chan's nap time, and also we didn't have anything prepared for a cruise like a life jacket for May-chan, so we headed back home straight after the boat debut.





ほんとね、ここ湖の州ミネソタでは、たくさんの人がボートを所有していて短い夏をクルーズをして楽しんでます。
Here in MN, the state of 10,000 lakes, there are so many people who own a boat and enjoy a short summer on the lakes.





でも、このボートを停める場所（車で言う駐車場）なんですが、ブラッド君の住んでいる市が所有しているスペースがあり、希望者は登録するとスペースが空くと登録順に使える権利がもらえるんです。
As for a spot to anchor a boat (like a parking spot for car), the city that Brad lives in owns some space and rents it out to the residents. You can register to put your name on the waiting list and be eligible to rent the spot when your name reaches the top of the list.





ですが、市が管理しているこのボートを停める場所ですが、めちゃくちゃ人気なので、登録してから実際にスペースの権利がもらえる順番が回って来るまで何年もかかります。
Though, it's extremely popular to rent the city's spot, and you have to wait some years to take your turn.





ちなみにブラッド君は数年前にスペースの権利を手に入れたんですが、登録してから7年もかかったらしいです。（汗）
In Brad's case, he took 7 years to be eligible to rent the spot.





なぜに市が管理しているボートを停める場所が人気なのかというと、他のプライベートの会社などが管理しているスペースを借りるのに比べて格安だからだそうです。
The reason why it's so popular to rent the city's spot is because the rent is way more reasonable compared to the prices at other private marinas.





まぁまぁそういう訳で、ブラッド君、ボート完成おめでとう！！
Anyways, congratulations to Brad!!





この先クルーズに連れて行ってもらうのを楽しみにしています！
I'm looking forward to going out to a cruise on his boat sometime!!
