今も昔も、文明社会にとって最も基礎的・重要なマテリアル分野において、世界最先端を走ると謳われている、東北大学原子分子材料科学高等研究機構（WPI-AIMR）。本日、その研究レポートや活動報告を、プレスリリース等と共に国際的に逐一発信する為のサイト、及び出版物が"AIMResearch"として立ち上げられました。


WPI-AIMRといえば、今年始め、『超伝導クーパー対の対称性』の観測による直接決定を世界で初めて成し遂げたことも記憶に新しく(具体的には、鉄系高温超伝導体における『電子-ホール対称性』及び鉄原子の電子軌道の差異によって発現するマルチバンド超伝導の観測）、その研究動向へ世界的な関心の高まりに応えるものとして開設されたのでしょう。



2007年、文部科学省の『世界トップレベル国際研究拠点形成促進プログラム』構想の第一陣として設立されたAIMRですが、今のところ、他の4拠点から頭一つ抜けた業績を誇っていると言って良いかもしれませんね。

AIMResearchでは、同機構が年間発表する数百報もの論文の中から、更に選り抜かれたレポートのハイライトをタイムリーに掲載していくということで、ウェブリソースとしての今後のコンテンツ展開も楽しみです。
