これらの事故（TMI、チェルノブイリ）によって、原発の運転におけるヒューマン・ファクターが見直されるようになった。そのこと自体は誤りではないが、通常言われるような「運転員の訓練の向上」ということによっては、困難は克服されないだろう。というのは、ＴＭＩやチェルノブイリの事故が明らかにしたのは、きわめて微妙な機械と人間の関係だからである。

Human factors in a nuclear accident

These accidents (TMI and Chernobyle) have led to another look at human factors in a nuclear-plant operation. It is not a mistake in itself but so-called “enhanced training for a operator” could not overcome difficulties since the problem is the extremely subtle relationship between humans and machines as TMI and Chernobyle demonstrated.
