タスマニアの「天使と悪魔」

タスマニア島は豪州の南東端に浮かぶ北海道くらいの小さな島。地形も気候も北海道に似ていて、魚介類、農産物の宝庫。この島の蜂蜜は「天使の挑発」と呼ばれるほど味と香りが良く「美味しんぼ」にも取り上げられています。この島のみに生息するタスマニア・デビル（袋猫）は現存する最大の肉食有袋類。タスマニア・タイガー（袋狼）と同じくかつては駆除の対象とされ、近年は狐の持ち込んだ病気に感染して絶滅の危機にあります。

“Angel and Devil” in Tasmania

Tasmania is an island that is as small as Hokkaido located south east edge of Australia. The land features and the climates are similar to those of Hokkaido and it’s the treasure house of seafood and agricultural products. The honey made on this island is so tasty and luscious that it is called “angel’s provocation” and introduced in “Gourmet Boy”. Tasmanian Devils inhabit only on this land and they are the extant largest carnivorous marsupial. As same as Tasmanian Tigers they were targeted to be exterminated in past years, recently they are contaminated by the disease that was brought by foxes and they are on the verge of extinction now.
