父は22年前、母は15年前に死去。行年はともに81歳。父は明治、母は大正の生まれ。長生きをしたのに老醜を残さずに逝きました。父は死ぬ1週間前まで現役の町医者だったし、母は健啖と饒舌をあきらめた3週間後に息を引き取りました。父母の墓地は生まれ故郷の岩手県二戸市。2人の前半生は戦争の歴史。5人の子供を育て、僕は父が42歳の子供。60歳過ぎてやっと安らかな生活。母はヒマワリのような天真爛漫な人生でしたが、父は「花は桜木、人は武士」のような窮屈で重苦しい人生だったと思います。日本のどこか重苦しい年中行事の花見は北上中？

My father passed away 22 years ago and my mother, 15 years ago. My father was born in Meiji era and Mother, in Taisyo. Although both of them lived long they didn’t show senility. My father was working as a town doctor up until one week before his death. My mother died 3 weeks after giving up her big appetite and verbosity. Their graveyard is in Ninohe-city in Iwate prefecture in where they were born. Their first half life was in the war era. They raised 5 children and I was born when my father was 42 years old. They finally got peace and calm life after they became 60 years old. My mother was innocent like a sunflower but my father was strait-laced like cherry blossom. Japanese cherry blossom-viewing picnic, some kind of stiff annual event is about to finish, isn’t it?
