皆さん、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing, everyone?
Hit-chanは元気ですが、相変わらずちょっと気を抜くとすぐにブログの更新を怠ってしまいますなぁ。
I'm doing well, but I tend to relax too much and skip updating my blog.
で、久しぶりの更新ですが、先日、カリブー仲間のシェリルにお誘いいただいて、Andyっちとディナーに行ってきました。
So, it's been a long time since I updated my blog last time. Today, I want to talk about the day Andy and I went to Cheryl's friend's house the other day. Cheryl's also my Caribou friend.
シェリルは現在お友達の家に居候しているんですが、そのお友達が日本通で、日本のものがたくさんありました。
Now, Cheryl's staying at her friend's house and her friend is very familiar with Japan and has a lot of Japanese things.
そのお友達はその時仕事でヨーロッパに行っているらしく、シェリルが一人で暮らしておりました。
Cheryl said the friend's gone to Europe for business on the day, so Cheryl was living in the house by herself at the time.
シェリルが私達の為にディナーを作ってくれました。
Cheryl cooked dinner for us.
シェリルはお肉を食べないので、ヘルシーなお野菜ディナーを作ってくれました。
She doesn't eat meat, so she made us a healthy and vegetable dinner.
まずはスナックで、サツマイモのチップス＆地中海料理で出てくるハマス（豆のペースト）。
これが美味しくって、Hit-chan、ばくばく食べちゃったよ。（笑）
First, this is light snack. Sweet potato chips and Hamas.
I really loved it and couldn't stop eating. Hehe.
これは米粉とかで作られてるチップス。普通におかきの味がして美味しかったよ～。
This is chips made from rice powder or something. It tastes like rice crackers and I really liked it as well.
シェリルのお友達はとっても日本通で、シェリルが家の中を案内してくれたんだけど、雛人形や五月人形、着物、それに日本式のお風呂（洗い場と湯船が別々になってるやつ）がありました。
Cheryl's friend is really familiar with Japan and Cheryl showed us in the house. In the house, there were Japanese girl and boy dolls, Kimono and also a Japanese style bath room.
いやぁ、日本式のお風呂は本当に羨ましかったです～。
I really envy her because of the Japanese bathroom!!!
でね、食の方も日本通だと分かるものが一杯
Speaking of foods, there are a lot of Japanese things too.
これは色々な種類のお茶なんですけど、その一つは。。。
These are some different kinds of tea and one of them is...
Hit-chanの地元京都のお店のもの。
from Kyoto which is my hometown.
で、キッチン棚の中に整理されてたのは、上から、「ふりかけ」「鰹節」「昆布」「その他日本食色々」とありました。（笑）
And, in the boxes in the kitchen cabinet, there are "Furikake" (Seasonings for rice), "Bonito Flake" "Kombu" and "Miscellaneous Japanese food".
ディナー完成。
Dinner is ready!
サラダ。
Salad.
温野菜。
Boiled vegetables.
昆布ご飯。
Kombu rice.
風味豊かなポータベラ・マッシュルーム。
Very favorable fried Portabella mushrooms.
いやぁ、シェリルの作る野菜料理、日本人の味覚にも凄い合って、Hit-chan、モリモリ食べちゃいましたよ。
So, Cheryl's vegetable meal is really similar to Japanese cuisine, so I ate a lot!
で、色々お話してたんですけど、実はシェリル、むか～しむかしに日本に行った事あるんですよ。
So, we're chatting about many thins. Actually, Cheryl's been to Japan a long time ago.
まだ1ドル360円の時代だったんですけど、その時に行ったミキモト真珠店でめちゃくちゃ素敵な真珠のネックレスを見つけたらしいんです。
It was still when $1 was 360yen and she found a very gorgeous pearl necklace at Mikimoto Pearl Company then.
ただ、まだ若かったシェリルにとってはちょっと手の届かないお値段だったそうですが、
Even though, she was still young and it's hard for her to afford it.
「あの時買っておけば良かったわよ～。今考えれば本当にお買い得だったのにねぇ。」
"I wish I bought it at that time. When I think about it now, it's a really nice deal"
と悔しがっていました。（笑）
she said. Hehe.
AndyっちとHit-chanとシェリル、3人で楽しい時間を過ごさせてもらいました。
Thankfully, we had a really fun time.
