日本2018 (Japan 2018, vol.19)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How are you doing today?



さて、今日も日本生活の日常をシェアしていきたいと思います。
Okay, I want to share our ordinary day here in Japan today.


日本の方には何でもない事だと思いますが、アメリカの家族へ向けても書いておりますので、ご了承を。
I assume it might be boring for people in Japan, but I'm writing my blog for my friends and family in the US, so I hope you understand it.



で、私たちが借りているアパートですが、今まで使っていて、ロケーションも良く設備もそれなりに良いと思っています。
（Wifi環境だけが、ぷつりぷつりと切れてAndyっちの仕事に支障をきたしていますが。。。）
So, we've been staying in the apartment over 2 weeks now and the location and most of the appliances are pretty good.
(Except for the wifi. The connection gets lost too freuently to make Andy's job stress free.)


さて、Wifi問題以外にもう一つあったのが、ベッド問題でした。
Besides the Wifi, we had anther problem, which is our bed.


ダブルベッドで、大きさは二人寝るのに問題は無いのですが、やはりマットの固さが私達には少し固すぎでした。
It's a double bed and the size isn't too bad, but the mattress is a little bit too farm for us.


なので。。。

Kyoto-Yodobashi
We went to Yodobashi again.


正確には、ヨドバシビルに入っているニトリに行きました。
Technically, we went to a shop called "Nitori" in the building.



このニトリにもかなりお世話になっていて、生活用品が安く買えて、Andyっちともここで色々買い物してミネソタに持って帰ろうとも話しています。
We actually shop at Nitori a lot too since they have many house equipment. I'd say they're like Kohl's. They have decent things for cheap prices, so Andy and I are talking that we're going to buy some more things to bring back to MN.




で、在庫のあった簡易マットを無事に購入して、タクシーで帰宅。
We picked up a mattress in stock and took a cab back to our apartment.



京都駅付近からアパートまではタクシーで800円ちょっと。
It's about $8 from Kyoto station to our apartment by taxi.



市バスは片道230円なので、2人で利用の場合で大きな荷物がある時は、タクシーで帰ってもめちゃくちゃ高くはないので助かっています。
The city bus is $2.30 for 1 way, so taking a cab with 2 of us is not that expensive and we usually take a cab when we bought something big.



で、マットを敷いてからは寝心地もずいぶん良くなりました。
With the new mattress, I can sleep better. I guess so does Andy.



で、相変わらずですが、日本のグルメも毎日堪能してます。
Yeah, we also enjoy Japanese delicious food everyday as well.




節分の日は、10年ぶりくらいに恵方巻を食べました。
On Feburary 3rd, to make it short, it was Sushi Roll day. So, we ate sushi rolls!




海鮮たっぷり巻とオマールエビとアボカド巻
We got one with lots of seafood and one with lobster & avocado.



方角も、喋らないというルールも無視して、ただただ、美味しくいただきました。
Well, this all the Sushi Roll day stuff is for kicking off your bad luck or something and we're supposed to eat the rolls facing toward the specific direction without saying any word, but too much! We just enjoyed the flavorful sushi rolls. LOL



あと、マクドナルドに続いて。。。
We got Macdonald's the other day, but some days after, we also got this too.



モスバーガー

Mos Burger







Hit-chanはテリヤキバーガー。うーん、旨い！
I got thier Teriyaki burger. Tasty!


モスバーガーで日本だなぁと思ったのが、ベーコンが乗ったバーガーがほぼほぼ無いところ！

What I thought that its' so Japanesy at Mos Burger was they almost didn't have a burger with bacon!


Andyっちがベーコンの乗ったバーガーを探していたんだけど、マッシュポテトが乗った期間限定バーガーにベーコンが乗っているだけで、その他は全部ベーコン無しでした。
Andy was looking for a bacon burger, but they only had this seasonal burger which was with mashed potato and bacon. Though, other than that, no bacon burger!


一応、オプションでベーコン付けられるか聞いてみたけど、ダメだったよ。
Just in case, I also asked them if I could add bacon to any burger as an option, but they said they couldn't. Oh no!



アメリカ人はベーコンが好きだから、どの店でもバーガーにベーコンを付けるのはできたりするんだけどね。
Americans love bacon and you wouldn't have any problem to add bacon to your burger at any restaurant in the US, but not here.



で、Andyっちはとびきりチーズバーガーにしました。めでたし、めでたし。(笑)

Anyawys, Andy got this cheese burger.



日本にいた時は、モスバーガー1回も行った事無かったんですが、美味しそうなメニューがあるので、ミネソタに帰る前に何度か行こうかなっと思っています。
I'd actually never been to Mos Burger when I was in Japan, but I'm attempting to try other things on their menu while I'm here.
