さて、前回の記事で書きましたが、2017年10月7日はHit-chanの夢がまた一つ叶った夜でした。
So, I mentioned this on the last article, but again, October 7th 2017 was the day that one of my long-time dreams came true.
何があったかと言いますと。。。
Okay, I'll tell you what happened.
分かりますか？実はこれ、ピーター、ポール＆マリーのピーターとポールのコンサートチケットなんです。
Do you know what they are? These tickets are actually for concert of Peter and Paul of Peter, Paul & Mary.

日本でも人気のある、60年代にデビューしたグループです。
They are very popular group debuted in the 60s.
はっきり言って、Hit-chanの世代から言うとかなり上の世代のグループなんですが、いつからかどこからか、彼らの歌を聞くようになり、CDを買うまで好きになりました。
Ovbiously, they're not my generation and more like my grandparents' but I don't know why or from when, I've naturally started listening to their songs and loved them as much as buying their CDs.
母が高校生だった頃フォークソング同好会に入っていたのもあってか、500milesやLemon Treeという歌を歌って教えてくれたり、学校の授業でPuffを歌ったり、本当に自然に耳にして口ずさむようになっていました。
My mom used to belong to a folk song club in high school, so she taught me some songs like 500miles and Lemon tree. Also, in a school music class, I sang the famous song, Puff, as well. So, it was very natural for my ears to remember the wonderful melodies and the harmonies.
そしてこのCDを購入しました。

Then, I purchased this album.
このCDはコンサートの音源を収めたものですが、その中で観客の大人から子供まで、一緒に彼らと口ずさんでいる声も聞こえるのです。
They recorded a concert and you can hear the audience, from little children to adults, singing along with them.
代表的なパフもそうですが、彼らの曲には素敵なストーリーや思いが詰まっているんですよねぇ。
Just like the famous Puff, all of their songs have stories and words.
ボブ・ディランやジョン・デンバーなど、他の方が作った曲をたくさん歌ってらっしゃるのですが、Hit-chan、シンプルな彼らの演奏とハーモニーが好きだったりします。
They sang a lot of songs written by other singers like Bob Dylan or John Denver, but I personall like the version of their simple acoustic guitars and harmony.
それを聞いてから、「いつか子供ができたら、彼らのコンサートに一緒に行って、一緒に歌いたいなぁ。」と心の片隅で夢見て、Andyっちにも度々伝えていたんです。
Ever since I listened to their concert CD, I've been dreaming like "One day when I have kids, I want to take them to their concert and sing along with them." And I've often told that to Andy.
でね、何か月前のある日、いつものようにAndyっちが地元のTVを観ていたら、その局が寄付を呼び掛けるのに、「今、〇〇ドル寄付していただいたら、10月にあるピーターとポールのコンサートチケットを差し上げます。」と宣伝していたんです。
And one day some months ago, Andy was watching TPT channel (Local channel) on TV as usual and then he saw that they're telling "If you donate $***, you can get Peter&Paul's concert in October!"
それを見たAndyっち、
Then, he asked me
「ハニー、行きたい？ずっと行きたいって言ってたやろ？」
"Honey, do you wanna go? You said you've wanted to go."
と聞いてくれ、もちろん「行きたい。」と答えると、すぐに電話して寄付の手続きをしてくれたんです。
Of course, my answer was "Yes." Andy called them right away and made the donation.
寄付の額は安くないのに、こうやってためらいなくHit-chanの夢を叶えようとしてくれるAndyっち、本当に男前でしょ？
It's not cheap at all, but my generous and sweet husband even didn't hesitate and just made my dream happen. He is super cool, isn't he?
残念ながらマリーさんは2009年に亡くなってしまったのと、Hit-chanにはまだ子供がいないので、夢見ていた形とは少し違いますが、それでもそれでも、本当に行けると決まっただけで心が躍りました。
（2009年のマリーさんの訃報を聞いた時は、本当に残念で残念で悲しかったのを覚えています。）
Sadly, Mary passed away in 2009 and I haven't had a child yet, but still, I've been super thrilled just to think about this.
(When I heard News of Mary's death in 2009, I was very very disappointed and sad.)
で、コンサート当日、リアナとパトリックとの楽しいディナーの後、歩いて会場に向かいました。
Anyways, on the conertday, after Andy and I had the great dinner with Rheanna and Patrick, we walked to the theater.
思った通り、客層はかなり高く、AndyっちとHit-chanはかなり若い方でした。
Just as I expected, the audience was much older than we are.
素敵なホールです。ステージにはマイク4本だけ。
The theater was so beautiful too. There are only 4 microphones on the stage.
そして、アコースティック2本と二人の声だけで演奏。
And they perform just with 2 acoustic guitars and their voices.
ピーターさんもポールさんも79歳
They are 79 years old. Just amazing.
本当にたくさんの歌を歌われているので、Hit-chanの知っている曲をどれくらい歌ってくれるかが心配でしたが、Puff, Leaving on a jet plane, This land is your land, If I had a hammer, Where have all the flowers gone?と、好きな曲をほとんど歌ってくださったので最高でした。
They have played so so many songs, so my only concern was if they're going to play songs I know or not, but that was unnecessary worry. They played my favorite songs ilke "Puff", "Leaving on a jet plane", "This land id your land", "If I had a hammer" and "Where have al the flowers gone?" and it was just incredible.
そして、有名な曲が演奏されると観客の皆さんも口ずさんで、もちろんHit-chanも参加して、本当に願っていたコンサートで一緒に歌うという事が実現しました。
And just like the CD, we all sang along with those popular songs and without a doublt, I sang along with them too!! You know, my dream just came true!
MCでは何度もマリーさんの話も出て、やっぱり3人で一つのグループなんだなぁと感じられました。
They talked a lot about Mary too and that made me feel that they're still together for sure.
本当に心の片隅に持っていた夢のかけら、思いかけずあれよあれよと芽を出して花を咲かせてくれました。
The little seed of my dream had been just sitting in my heart, but one day, all of sudden, it sprouted up and made a big and beautiful flower.
Hit-chanの夢を実現させてくれた、Andyっち、そして何より79歳になっても現役でコンサートをしてくださっていたピーターさんとポールに感謝いっぱいの気持ちです。
I just want to give my big thanks to my sweetest hasbund and of course, to the great singers and peace lovers who still performs great and move the audience at the age of 79.
ありがとう。（欲を言えば、マリーさんにも会いたかったなぁ。。。）

私も洋楽好きな父の影響で、PPMは子どもの頃からよく聴いていました^_^
パフや、This land is your land、Lemon treeが大好きです！
今もiPhoneの中に入れてて、父を車に乗せる時はかけてあげるんですよ〜
私も生で聴きたいなぁ。
心の片隅にずっと抱いていた夢ではあったんですが、特にそれに向けて行動していた訳ではないのに、あれよあれよと全てが勝手に進んでいってくれました。夢って叶う時って、本当にスムーズに進むんだなぁって実感しました。
コンサート会場が一体になって、お二人と一緒に歌って、私もその一員になれて感無量でした。お二人ももう高齢なんで、それができるチャンスもあと何年かくらいかと思うと、余計に貴重な時間に思えました。
