How's everything going in your life?
これを書いているのは4月14日なんですが、こちらミネソタ、雪がちらついております。
I'm writing this on April 14th and it's snowing today here in MN.
4月中旬にもなって雪がちらつくのはいかにもミネソタらしいんですが、それでも生粋のミネソタンであるAndyっち曰く、「今年の冬は寒いし、長いわ。」との事です。
It's really Minnesota that we see snow still in the middle of April, but even pure Minnesotan, Andy's saying, "This winter is really cold and long."
日によっては「春だなぁ！」と思う日も増えてきているのは確かなんですが、こうやってまだ曇り空に雪がちらつく日があると、ちょっと気持ちが塞ぎがちになっちゃいます。
Depending on the day, we certainly can feel, "Oh, spring is right there!" but cloudy and snowy days still in April make me depressed.
さて、前置きはこの辺にして、3月の最後の日から数日間、パパママのお家にお泊りさせてもらい、その内の2泊に関しては、パパママにめいを見てもらい、AndyっちとHit-chanはめい無しでホテルに泊まって久しぶりに夫婦水入らずの時間を楽しませてもらいました。
Anyways, Andy, May-chan and I went over Dad&Mom's cabin up north for a couple of days from the last day of March and Andy and I spent 2 nights at a hotel just with 2 of us thanks to Dad&Mom for watching May-chan for us.
なので、今日はその時の様子を書いていこうと思います。
So, I'd like to write about the time we spent at Dad&Mom's cabin and the hotel.
3月31日。Andyっちが仕事を終えてから我が家を出発。
On March 31st (My mom's BD BTW), we left our house after Andy's done with his work.
4時前に出発して、ここから約3時間の車の旅。
We left a little before 4pm and took a 3hour drive to the destination.
多分帰宅ラッシュだったのかな？市街に近い所では少し渋滞に巻き込まれました。
It might be in the middle of a returning-home rush hour and we got stuck in the traffic in the town area.
が、市街地を離れると道はこんな感じで空いていました。
Once we went through the town area and entered the suburb area, the road was so empty like this.
今回は到着時間が晩御飯の時間くらいだったので、パパママとは家の近くにあるいつものピザ屋さんで落ち合う事に。
The time we were going to arrive at Dad&Mom's cabin was around dinner time, so we decided to meet them up at our usual pizza shop near their house.
久しぶりのグランパ＆グランマにめいは大興奮！嬉しくて、座るのもグランパ＆グランマ側に自ら行きました。
May-chan was super happy and excited to see Grandpa&Grandma for the first time in a while, so she went to sit by them on her own.
ピザ屋さんなので、パパとAndyっちはピザを注文。
Dad and Andy ordered pizzas.
ママとHit-chanはカシュ―チキンサラダ。
Mom and I ordered their Cashew Chicken Salad.
めいが食べるかなぁと思って注文したパン。Bread Sticksっていう名前。ただめいさん、車の中でスナックをいっぱい食べたので、このパンは一口も食べず。
I thought that May-chan would eat this, Bread Sticks. Though, she didn't take even a bite probably because she'd been stuffed with bunch of snacks she ate in the car.
晩御飯の後はパパママのお家に行って、寝るまで各々好きな事をして時間を過ごしました。
After the casual dinner, we went to Dad&Mom's cabin and spent the rest of the night by individually doing what we liked to do.
めいもすっかりパパママのお家には慣れており、いつものようにおもちゃを出してもらって遊んでいました。
May-chan's used to be and very comfortable to be at Dad&Mom's cabin, so she played with all the toys by herself as usual.
と、こんな感じで、無事、3時間のドライブを経てパパママのお家に着きました。
Like this, we safely got to Dad&Mom's cabin after the 3 hour drive.
今まではめいを1泊見てもらう事はあったんですが、2泊見てもらう事は今回が初めて。
We'd had Dad&Mom watch May-chan for a night before, but this was the first time for her to spend 2 nights without Daddy&Mommy.
果たして、めいさん、ダディとマミーと離れて楽しく過ごす事が出来たでしょうか？
