さて、今日も夏頃のお話。
Okay, I'd like to write about another story which happened still in summer again.
8月14日がAndyっちとHit-chanの結婚記念日なんですが、今年は9周年でございました！
August 14th is actually Andy&Hit-chan's anniversary, and we celebrated the 9th one this year!
当日は水曜日で、その翌日の木曜日、トム＆キャットにめいのベビーシッターをお願いして、私達は記念日ディナーーに行きました。
The 14th was Wednesday, and we had our anniversary dinner on the next day since our friends, Tom&Kat kindly babysat May-chan that night.
今回選んだお店はこちらのイタリアン。前に1度AndyっちがHit-chanの誕生日に連れて来てくれて美味しかったのを覚えていたんです。
We picked up this Italian restaurant because I remembered that they're really good when Andy took me there for my birthday dinner.
記念日おめでとう～。
Happy anniversary, hon!
最初に出してくれたこのフランスパンが美味しくて、「あかん、メインが来るから食べ過ぎんようにしな。」
と我慢しました。(笑)
The French bread which they served first was so good especially becaues I was super hungry, but I tried super hard not to eat them too much before my entree came out. Haha.
前菜に魚のタタキがのってるクラッカー。多分マグロだったと思います。
The appetizer was fish tataki (probably, it was tuna.) on crackers.
この日は2人ともステーキを頼みました。Andyっちと結婚してから、ステーキの美味しさが分かるようになりました。
For the entree, we both ordered filet steak. The steak lover, Andy taught me how delicious steak is, and I became a lover after I married him.
こちらのレストランのステーキも焼き具合が完璧で美味しくいただきました。
They cooked the steaks perfectly, and we both really enjoyed it.
食事の後は恒例のカード＆プレゼント交換タイム。
After the delicious dinner, we exchanged cards and presents just as our usual.

Hit-chanからのプレゼントの中身はネバーエンディングストーリーの本
A present from me to Andy was a book, "Never Ending Story".
AndyっちとHit-chan、2人とも映画の「ネバーエンディングストーリー」は観た事があり好きだったんです。
Andy and I have watched the "The Neverending Story" movie together and liked it.
で、Hit-chan、最近原作本も読んでみようと思って読んでみたら、驚き、桃ノ木、山椒の木！！
So, I felt like reading the original book too and read it this year. Then, what a good surprise!!
日本語訳で上下巻あったんですが、映画になっているのは上巻で、本当、もう何本か映画が撮れそうなくらいの壮大なストーリーが下巻に広がっていたんです。
I read the book in Japanese and there were 1st and 2nd volumes. The movie was made from the story in the 1st volume, and there was a quite different and magnificent story in the 2nd volume, which you'd probably be able to make a couple of more movies out of it.
当然ですが上巻だけでも映画よりも情報が多く、「あー、だからなのか～。」と細かい部分の謎が解けました。
In general, an original book has much more information than the same title movie, and "The Neverending Story" was not exception either. So, even the 1st volume part of the original book was great enough to explain a lot of more small things which I didn't understand in the movie.
気になって調べてみると、原作者のミハエル・エンデさんは、映画が気に入らなくて最終的には裁判を起こしたそうです。確かに、映画では原作本の中身半分が無くなっているようなものですし、エンディングも全く違うものになってますもんね。個人的には映画も好きですが、原作本の方がもっと好きです。
I actually researched the movie a little bit and found out that the author, Michael Ende didn't like the movie and ended up suing the movie company. I understand how he felt about the movie since the half of the storis in the book was missing in the movie and the ending was also totally changed too. Still, I like the movie but like the original book more.
下巻の物語も上巻に負けない面白さで、ぜひともAndyっちにも読んで欲しいと思って英語版を贈った訳です。
（ちなみに、AndyっちもHit-chanとめいがいる間に読んでくれて、「面白かった！」と喜んでくれました。）
The 2nd volume is as amazing as the 1st volume, and that's why I wanted Andy to read it too.
(FYI, Andy finished the book while May-chan and I were in Japan and loved it too!)
ちなみにHit-chanからのプレゼントはもう1つありまして。。。
I also got him one more present, and it was...
ゴルフボール・・・じゃなくて、
not golf balls...and it was actually...
ゴルフボールが入っていた箱にゴルフショップのギフトカード。（近々ゴルフバッグを買い替えたいと言っていたので、少しでも足しになればなぁと思って。）
a golf shop gift card in the golf ball box. (Andy's wanted to buy a new golf bag sometime soon, so I thought that it'd be a little bit helpful.)

Hit-chanが集めているHard Rock CaféのTシャツでした！（これは出張でシカゴに行った時に買ってきてくれたものでした。）
Hard Rock Cafe's T-shirt! (Andy got it in Chicago when he's in the city for work.)
あっという間に結婚9周年。
What short 9 years!
今までのところ、喧嘩もほとんど無く幸せな結婚生活を送らせてもらっていると思います。
Thus far, we haven't got any big fight or argument and have had a happy marrige life together.
それもこれも、Andyっちの大きな愛と器があるからこそだと感謝しています。
I believe that our happy marriage is mainly supported by my loving hubby, Andy's big love and generosity.
これからも今までと変わらず仲良く楽しい人生を一緒に歩いて行きたいです！
So, I just hope that we'll keep getting along with each other and having a fun and happy life together!
という訳で、今日はこの辺で～！来年は10周年だよ。
