How's your day going?
本格的にクリスマスシーズンに入りまして、クリスマスショッピングで中々忙しくなってまいりました。(笑)
Okay, we've really got in the holiday season and busy for Christmas shopping! LOL
Hit-chanはほぼほぼオンラインでプレゼントを決めてしまうので楽ですが、日本と違ってアメリカでは一人に数個のプレゼントを準備するので数も多くなりますね。
I usually get presents online since it's super easy. Though, we generally get multiple presents for 1 person here in the US, so the total number of presents you buy for Christmas ends up being big. (In Japan, we commonly get only 1 present for 1 person.)
しかも、Andyっちがまた出張でNYに行っちゃいましたので、めいが寝ている間に色々と準備を進めて行きたいと思ってます。
Besides the holiday event is giving me extra things to do, Andy's out of town and in NY for work again. So, I want to make some progress while May-chan sleeps.
Hit-chan、「皆が喜んでくれるかなぁ？」と考えながらの買い物は大好きなのですごく楽しいですよ。
BTY, I really like do shopping for somebody's gift as thinking, "Will this make you smile??", and shopping itself makes me happy.
さて、一昨日アップしたミカちゃんとの楽しいデートをした次の日のお話です。
So, I wrote about the girl's date with Mika-chan here the day before yesterday, and this is about the next day.
この日の朝、友達のリアナ＆パトリックに一晩預かってもらっていためいをピックアップしに行きました。
In the morning, Andy and I went to pick up May-chan at Rheanna&Patrick's house where she had a sleepover the night before.
めいにとって、私達無しでのお泊りは今回が初めてだったので、どんな様子だろうと気になっていました。
It was very first time for her to sleep over without us, so I was very curious how she did.
で、行ってみると。。。
How was she actually doing??
ケロっとしておりました。
Yup, she was like, "What are you talking about??" and doing just as usual.
前日に私達が家を離れた時点では犬のミカにも怖がっていたんですが、翌朝来てみると自ら近づいていくくらい慣れてました。(笑)
On the day before, she was a little bit scared of their dog, Mika, at the time that Andy and left her, but she was chasing her in the morning. LOL
一晩ぶりのダディ～。
Hi daddy!!
で、そのままパパママの家に戻って。。。
After we picked up May-chan, we headed back to Dad&Mom's house.
Andyっちの特製リブの調理が始まりました。
Andy started smoking ribs on the driveway.
こんな感じの大きなお肉の塊を燻製で火を入れていくので、調理時間は4、5時間くらいかな？、かかります。
He used 2 racks of baby ribs in this size, so I think that he took about 4-5 hours to cook them.
なので、その間パパママの庭仕事のお手伝いもちょっと。
In the meantime, Dad&Mom did some yard work, and Andy helped them a little bit.
でも、Hit-chanとめいは見学担当。(笑)
Me? May-chan and I were just watching them.
ブラッド君にも遊んでもらって、めいはご機嫌さん。
May-chan was happy to play with uncle Brad that day too.
で、リブが完成！6種類の味付けが違うリブが並びました。
Then, Andy's ribs were done!! He seaseoned them in 6 different ways.
旬の焼きトウモロコシも。
We also had grilled fresh corn too.
あとはガーリックブレッドも。
Yammy garlic bread too.
いただきまーす！
Bon appetite!
この時のめいは離乳食だったんですが、トウモロコシをあげたあら凄く美味しそうにいっぱい食べてくれました。
（次の日、トウモロコシの粒がそのまま出てきましたけど。笑）
May-chan was still eating stage 2 baby food back then, but I tried to give her some corn kernels, and she really loved them!
(Although, they came out from her body just as they looked on the next day. Haha)
で、一応、今回集まったのは7月生まれのブラッド君と8月生まれのパパの誕生日を祝う為。
We actually gathered to casually celebrate Brad's and Dad's birthday on the weekend.
パパへのプレゼントはガソリンを入れる容器。Andyっち曰く、このブランドの容器の口は何か上手い具合にできてるらしく、パパも欲しがってたらしいです。
This is a present to Dad from us, which is gas containers. Andy said that this brand one was well made with the cap or something, and Dad said that he wanted one when he saw that Andy was using his.
パパママは数年前にボートを購入したので、容器でガソリンを入れる機会もあるのです。
Dad&Mom actually purcahsed a used boat a couple of years ago and have an occasion to use the gas containers.
ちなみにこの夜もお泊りさせてもらう事になり、めいもお風呂に入ってスッキリ。ブラッド君はこの時既にお眠モードだったので、この日はお開き。
Dad&Mom let us stay over at their house Saturday night too, so I bathed May-chan around 5pm. Brad was in a sleepy mode, so we just spent the rest of the night as the way each one wanted.
で、翌朝～。
Next morning...
パパママからブラッド君へカード。
A card from Dad&Mom to Brad.
AndyっちとHit-chanからブラッド君にはプレゼントは無かったのかな？それとももっと前にあげたのかな？忘れた。(笑)
I don't remember that Andy and I gave him something that day. I'm not sure if we didn't give him any present this year or gave something already. LOL
この時朝の9時くらいなんですけど、めいは既にお眠で寝落ちしてしまいました。
It was around 9am when I took this picture, but May-chan was already napping.
気持ち良さそう。
She looked so comfortable in Grandma's arms.
で、この後すぐに家に帰りました。
Then, we headed back home shortly after.
という訳で、かなりささやかでしたが、今年のパパとブラッド君の合同誕生日会？でした！
