政府の統計によると、1987年度（87年4月‐88年3月）に日本の36の原発で放射線作業に従事した労働者の数は56360人で、単純平均すると1原発あたり約1600人である。詳しい作業内容は明らかにされていないが、過去の例から考えて、大半は「定期検査」期間中の原子炉周辺の作業である。

Workers in a nuclear plant

According to government statistics, the number of workers is 5636 engaged in radiological work at 36 nuclear plants in Japan in 1987 year (April, ’87-March, ’88), simply averaged, 1600 workers per plant. The detail work descriptions are not given in it, but given precedents, most of them are works around a nuclear reactor during “regular testing.”
