コガネグモ

5月11日(金)曇後快晴

今日は「スパイダーマン３」を見に行く予定です。写真は熱帯雨林に住むコガネグモの一種。メスは体長が15cmもあり丈夫な巣を作るので、小鳥が餌食になることもあるそうです。アボリジニはこの巣を利用して魚をすくいます。交尾の後メスはオスを食べるそうです。スパイダーマンも悲しい結末になるのでしょうか？

Golden spider
Fri. May 11 : fine after cloudy

We are going to see “spiderman 3” today. The picture is a kind of golden spider that lives in tropical rain forest. Its female has 15cm long and it makes such a strong cobweb that a little bird could be caught. Aborigines use the nests as the fish nets. After copulation females eats males. Spiderman in the movie would have sorrowful ending, wouldn’t he?
