さて、今日は日本旅行記第15弾です。
Okay, this is vol.15 of the Japan trip diaries.
10月に入って始めの週、高校時代からのお友達、はるかさんとランチデートする事になりました。
In the first week of October, May-chan and I had a lunch date with my friend from high school, Haruka.
実ははるかさん、日本からミネソタまで遊びに来てくれた数少ないHit-chanの友達です。
Haruka is actually one of the few friends of mine who's visited me in MN.
ランチデートするのに場所を決めるのに、「Hit-chanの実家の近くまで行くよ～。」と言ってくれたので、前回母の誕生日を皆でお祝いしたレストランに予約を入れました。
For this lunch date, Haruka nicely said, "I'll come over to your area!", so I made a reservation at the restaurant where my family celebrated my mom's birthday last year.
めいとは初めまして～。Hit-chanとは久しぶり～！
Nice to meet you from May-chan and long time no see from me!
はるかさんはつい最近まで仕事で長崎に住んでいたんですが、転勤で京都に戻ってきたのもあって、Hit-chanが帰る時に会いやすくなりました。
She'd actually lived in Nagasaki for work for some years and just moved back to Kyoto last year, which means that we can meet up more easily now.
このレストランもキッズフレンドリーで、キッズメニューもあったんですが、この時のめいは残念ながらまだ小さ過ぎました。
This restaurant is very kids friendly and had a kids menu too, but it's too bad that May-chan was too young at the point yet.
めい用の椅子も取り付けてもらえました。
They kindly installed this kid's seat on the table for May-chan too. Yay!
頼んだのはドリアだったかな？
We ordered this rice gratin and...
と、パスタ。
this spaghetti.
このお店はデザート類も充実しているんですが、実はHit-chanがこのお店の予約を取った時にバースデーデザートなるものを用意してくれる事を知り、ちょうどこの週にはるかさんのお誕生日だったので、そのデザートをお願いする事にしたんです。
They had a nice selection of dessert at the restaurant, but I actually preordered a special birthday dessert that they recommended when I made the reservation since Haruka was having her birthday on the week.
こんな感じに作ってくださりました。

はるかさん、お誕生日おめでとう！！この時めいはお昼寝してました。(笑)
Happy birthday, Haruka!! Sorry about May-chan's nap time then. Haha.
いやぁ、この日もめいと一緒ではあったんですが、はるかさんと2人で色んな話をする事ができました。
We're with May-chan as always, but she was a good girl enough to let us have much time to talk about many things.
バリバリ仕事をしているはるかさんのお仕事の話を聞いたり、高校からの共通の友人の話をしたり。。。
Haruka is a cool career woman, so it's very interesting for me to listen to her stories at work, and also we enjoyed talking about our mutual friend from high school as always too.
はるかさんは普段自分の胸中をあまり語らないお人なんですが、この日はHit-chanに色々話してくれて嬉しかったです。
She's actually not a person who's always willing to tell her feelings to others, but I was very happy and honored that she shared a lot of things with me that day.
そうそう、INOBUNで買ったバースデープレゼントも無事渡すこともできたので良かったです。
Oh yeah, it's also nice that I didn't forget and handed her the birthday present that I got at the mall a couple of days before.
という訳で、高校からの友人はるかさんと久しぶりにデートしたお話でした！！！
