こちらミネソタ、昨日は大雪が降りまして、道の雪が溶けかけたと思ったら、また真っ白な景色に戻ってしまいました。
Here in MN, we got tons of snow yesterday and it made everywhere white out again right after I was starting to see the snow on the roads almost melt away.
有難いことに、仕事に行っている間にお向かいさんが我が家のドライブウェイを雪かきしてくださったみたいです。
Thankfully, while Andy and I were gone to work, our neighbor kindly shoveled our driveway.
さて、先日ですが、Hit-chan、家の近くのかかりつけのお医者さんにPET検査を受けるのが必要かどうかを判断してもらうため、Andyっちに付き添ってもらって行ってきました。
So, last Wednesday, I went to see a doctor near our house with Andy. We wanted to ask her if it's really reasonable for me to take a PET scan on this 5th year from the treatment or not.
日本のお医者さんに書いてもらった英語での紹介状を持って行きました。
I brought a few English letters from my doctors in Japan.
かかりつけのお医者さんと言っても、Hit-chan、考えてみればミネソタに来てから病院に行くほど大きな病気をしておらず、Andyっちがいつも診てもらってるお医者さんに診てもらいました。
Actually, I've never got sick so bad as I have to see a doctor here in MN yet, so Andy made an appointment for me at his familiar clinic this time.
女医さんなんですが、Andyっちが信頼しているだけあって、本当に気さくで優しく問診してくださったので、それ程緊張せずに済みました。
As Andy really likes and trusts her, she was so nice to me that I could stay comfortable to talk to her.
結果、他の専門のお医者さんとも相談した結果、Hit-chan、やっぱりPET検査受けた方が良いとの事と、あと、C型肝炎も患っていたので、肝臓の超音波検査もする事になりました。
To make a long story short, she said I should take a PET scan test after she talked to another doctor. Also, I had hepatitis C as well, so they're going to do ultrasound on my liver as well.
検査の方は後日、他の病院で行う予定です。
I'm going to go to a different hospital for those tests and scans sometime soon.
ちなみに今日、その日受けた血液検査の結果が届き、今のところ全て正常値との事で、まずは一安心です。
By the way, I got the result of blood test that I took at that time today and it says that everything is normal so far. It made me feel relieved.
やっぱりねぇ、病院での会話はまだまだ難しかったので、Andyっちについて来てもらって良かったです。
Anyways, I still had a hard time to understand medical words, so I'm so glad that Andy was by my side.
病院での会話以外でも、保険会社とのやりとりとか、アメリカの医療に関してはまだまだ学ぶところが多いです。
Besides conversations in a hospital, I still have tons of things to learn about American medical system like health insurance.
という訳で、5年目のPET検査に向けて大きな一歩を進める事ができました。
Anyways, thankfully, I could take one big step for a PET scan test of the 5th year today.
早く検査を受けて結果を知り、祝杯を上げたいものです。
I'd love to take the test, know the result and toast for the good news soon.

乾杯する日が楽しみです♪
こっちもだいぶ暖かくなってきて、カリブーも忙しくなってきましたよ。もうTシャツ着て歩いてる人も見かけます。
私は寒がりなんで、Tシャツまではもうちょっとです。（笑）
病院関係の手続きは本当に、まだまだ難しすぎてできないですわ。次の検査の予約もAndyに丸投げです。（汗）
早く祝杯あげられるように頑張ります！（Andyが？笑）
この調子でPET検査も頑張りたいと思います。
