Hello everybody!
皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going today?
我が家は今、全員風邪を引いてます。最初、めいがプリスクールから菌をもらってきたみたいで、順にAndyっちとHit-chanにもお裾分けしてくれました。(笑)
Oh well, everybody in my family has been sick from last week. May-chan got some virus or something from her preschool first and then kindly gave out it to both Andy and me. LOL
めいはまだ鼻水ズルズルにちょっと咳をしており、AndyっちとHit-chanも、寝込むほどじゃないけど本調子とは言えないという感じで週末を過ごしました。
（Hit-chanは鼻水と喉がイガイガするだけなんですが、Andyっちは寒気などもあって一番症状が重い感じです。）
May-chan's got a runny nose and been coughing for some days and both Andy and I aren't in the best condition either though we're not like being too terrible to get out of bed or something.
(My symptoms are just runny nose and sore throat, but Andy's are also chills and others.)
このご時世、「家族全員風邪ひきました～。」だけでは済まないので、昨日の日曜日に家族3人でコロナ検査を受けに行きました。
In the pandemic, we can't go through it just by saying, "We all got a cold." and went to take a COVID-19 test together on Sunday.
幸い、全員陰性だったのでただの風邪だったんですが、ほんま気を遣う世界になってしまいましたわ。
Luckily, our results were all negative, but the world has been totally different since the pandemic blew out.
さてさて、今日も京都滞在記でございます。もう少しで終わりますよ。
Anyways, let me share another article of my Kyoto diaries today. Don't worry! My Kyoto diaries will end soon.
今回の帰国では、Andyっちも一緒だったことや、めいが出す騒音が心配だったので一軒家のAirbnbを借りて過ごしたんですが、実は滞在期間2ヶ月の内、ミネソタに帰る1週間前の7月13日まで一度も実家に帰っていませんでした。
On this trip, we rented a Airbnb house because my parents condo wasn't big enough for 3 of us to stay at and also I was worried if May-chan's noises would bother the neighbors. May-chan and I stayed in Japan for 2 months this time, but we actually hadn't visited my parents condo until July 13th which was a week before we left for MN.
別に帰るのが嫌とかでは全くなく、実家の皆が仕事帰りとかにしょっちゅうAirbnbに来てくれていたので、わざわざめいを連れて実家に行くという必要性があまりなかったんです。
It wasn't because I didn't want to visit their place or something, but it's simply because we didn't have to go there since everybody kindly visited us at the Airbnb place so often.
必要性が無いと言っても、やっぱり一回は実家を見ておきたいという気持ちがあったので、妹スカッチのお休みの日にお願いして車で連れて行ってもらいました。
Even though I didn't have to, I still wanted to check out their place before I left for MN, so I asked my sister, Skutch, again to give us a ride there.
前回めいと二人で帰国した時は実家でお世話になりました。
When I went back to Japan just with May-chan in 2019, we stayed at my parents condo for the entire time.
前回の滞在でもお世話になった、実家で飼っている猫のマリーちゃんにも再会。（もう一匹ミューちゃんもいるんですが、シャイなので出て来ません。）
They owned 2 kitties and May-chan loved to play with one of them, Marie-chan, during the last stay. So, She's so excited to see her again this time.
(The other one was too shy to come out from my mom's room.)
今回もめい、マリーちゃんに大興奮してチューまでしておりました。
May-chan even gave a kiss to Marie-chan.
マリーちゃんが父の部屋の奥に隠れても、追いかけて行って捕まえようとしてました。
Marie-chan hid in the back of my dad's room, but May-chan chased her and tried to grab her there.
前回の帰国の時もめいはマリーちゃんが大好きで追いかけまわしていたんですが、マリーちゃんの方も優しくて、逃げようと思えば逃げられるのに、めいが触れたり触れなかったりする絶妙な距離を保って、時には触れるように待っていてくれたりして、すっごく上手に遊んでくれたんです。
Yeah, May-chan kept chasing around Marie-chan during the last stay in 2019, but Marie-chan was such a sweet kitty and played with May-chan so well. Even though she could easily run away from May-chan, she kept a certain distance from her so that May-chan could touch her sometimes. She even deliberately came close to May-chan and let her touch her.
母がめいの遊べそうな物も買っておいてくれて、一緒に遊んだりもしました。
My mom kindly had got a toy for May-chan and they played together with it.
ただ、何が一番喜んだかって、この箱。
Though, the best toy for May-chan was this box.
めいがちょうど隠れる大きさで、中に入っては「ばぁ！」と出てきては大はしゃぎしてました。
The size was perfect for May-chan to hide in it. So, she went in there and came out saying "Bah!" and laughed a lot.
そしてこの日、実家に寄るついでに、実家近くにあるファッションセンターしまむらを見に行ったんですが、そこでこんな物を発見。
Skutch, May-chan and I went shopping at an apparel shop near my parents condo because I wanted to look pants to fit my short legs, but I came across this there.
ミネソタのTシャツ。どこかの学校のものかなぁと思うんですが、何でしまむらにあるんやろ？(笑)
MN T-shirt. It looked like a shirt of a college or something in MN, but why did they have it?? Haha.
何か、今回の帰国中に行ったイオンモールにあったバイキングス（ミネソタのフットボールチーム）のユニフォームといい、このセント・ポールのTシャツといい、意外にも京都にいてもミネソタを感じられるタイミングはあるんだなぁと発見でした。
I saw Vikings jerseys at a mall before and this St. Paul T-shirt this time. Those 2 encounters made me get to know that there are still moments to feel MN even when I was in Kyoto .
で、この日の夕飯は、またまたHit-chanが日本にいる間に食べたいという事で、焼肉。本当は一回くらい回転ずしにも行きたかったんですが、行こう行こうと思っている間に妊娠したので、それなら焼肉！って事でね。
As for dinner that night, I asked Skutch to come along with to a Korean BBQ restaurant again. I honestly wanted to eat at a revolving sushi restaurant too, but I got pregnant before I made it happen, so why not? I decided to enjoy Korean BBQ instead.
こちらのお店に行きました。スカッチが車出してくれるので、帰国中の行動範囲が広がりました。（感謝）
We picked up this restaurant for the dinner. Skutch generously gave us a ride anytime she's available, so I could go to more places during the stay. (Thanks!)
このお店は熟成肉が売りでした。
The selling point of this restaurant was aged meat.
こういうサイドディッシュも嬉しいだよなぁ。
This kind of side dish also made me happy.
めいも興味津々。ほっぺの絆創膏はファッションで付けてたよ。（笑）
May-chan's curious to watch meat cooking on the Hibachi grill. FYI, the bandage on her cheeks was just for fashion. Haha
言っても、アラサー＆アラフォーの女2人と3歳児なんで、そんなに量は食べられないんだけど、美味しかった～！
We're only 2 women in 30's and a 3 year-old, so couldn't eat so much. Still, we enjoyed the delicious meat as much as we could eat.
めいも日本の美味しいお肉を味わって大満足でした。
May-chan also loved the delicious meat too.
もし、また日本で体外受精をするとなれば、Hit-chan一人かめいと2人なる可能性が高いので、その時はまた実家にお世話になって皆との時間をゆっくりワイワイと過ごしたいなぁと思います。
I still don't know if Andy and I would try for another IVF in Japan or not, but if we do it there again, it'd probably be only me or May-chan and me going there. So, I hope that we can spend more time at my parents condo together then.
という訳で、今回の帰国での最初で最後の実家訪問と、スカッチと美味しい焼き肉ご飯でございました！
Okay, this is all about our first and last visit to my parents condo during this stay and another delicious Korean BBQ dinner!
