さて、アメリカに住んでいて、よくアメリカ在住の日本人の方から人気があるスーパーマーケットして、Trader Joe'sの名前をよく聞きます。（よくトレジョと略されますよね。）
So, I hear that a lot of Japanese living in the US love Trader Joe's.
Hit-chanも過去に1度だけ行った事があるんですが、それ以来もう何年も行っていませんでした。
I've been to the store only once a long time before.
が、何故か最近ふと「なんかもう1回トレジョ行ってみたいなぁ。」と思いまして、先日家族3人で行ってきました。
Lately, I don't know why but I suddenly thought, "I kind of wanna go to Trader Joe's again." and asked Andy to come with me there.
家から20分くらいの所にあります。
There's a store about 20mins away from our house.
で、今回買ったのがこちら。
This is what we bought on the shopping.
左端から時計回りで、トルティーヤチップス($2.69)、チーズ($2.99)、シーフードミックス($7.99)、サラダドレッシング($2.29)、スモークサーモン($4.49)、鶏モモ肉($3.42)、コーヒー豆($3.99)、おかき($2.29)、さやえんどうみたいなスナック菓子($1.49)です。
From the left clockwise, Tortila chips($2.69), Mixed Cheese($2.99), Seafood Blend($7.99), Salad Dressing($2.29), Smoked Salmon($4.49), Bone-in Chicken Thigh($3.42), Trader Joe's blend coffee($3.99), Rice Cracker($2.29) and Baked Green Pea Snack($1.49)
まだ食べていない物もありますが、今の所食べたり飲んだりしたのが、シーフードミックス、サラダドレッシング、コーヒー、おかき、そしてさやえんどうみたいなスナック菓子(笑)です。
I haven't tried some of them yet, but what I have so far are the seafood blend, salad dressing, coffee, rice crackers and the green pea snack.
カリブーを辞めてから、Andyっちの出張先で買ってきてもらったりして色んなブランドのコーヒーを試してまして、今回、ちょうどコーヒーが切れそうだったのでトレジョブランドを買ってみました。
Since I quit the Caribou job, I've been trying to find my favorite coffee and tried some including a couple of blends from Seattle which Andy kindly got me during his business trip. So, I got one of their blend this time too.
まだHit-chanの「はぁ、旨い！」と思えるブランドには出会っておらず、このトレジョのブランドも何度か飲んでみて美味しかったんですが、「めちゃくちゃ好き！」と言える程ではなかったです。
To be honest, I haven't met my "Ah-ha!" coffee yet, and this Trader Joe's blend wasn't too bad either, but it's not good enough to make me think, "This is it!!".
コーヒーと同じく、おかきやさやえんどうみたいなスナック菓子も結構美味しかったですが、これの為だけにトレジョに行くかと言ったら、行かないですね。
Same as the coffee, the green pea snack and the rice crackers were pretty good, but not enough to make me feel like going to the store just to buy them.
それとは違い、結構気に入ったのがサラダドレッシングとシーフードミックス。
Instead of that, what I really liked were the salad dressing and the seafood blend.
サラダドレッシングの方は具体的なフレーバーの名前が無くて「何味？」と思ったんですが、原材料を見てみるとゴマとか入ってたんで、「美味しいかなぁ。」と思って買ってみたら、これが結構良かったです。
The dressing label didn't say the specific flavor like caesar or ranch, so I wonder, "What's this flavor??". Though, the nutrition label told me that it had sesame and etc..., so I thought that it'd be nice. And guess what? It was very tasty.
どちらかというとアジア風な味で、ゴマ味ベースで醤油のような風味もあります。
The flavor is kind of Asian, and you can mainly taste the roasted sesame and also touch of soy sauce-like flavor too.
あと、シーフードミックスを買ったんですが、これを買った理由はチヂミを作ってみたかったからです。
I said that I got the seafood blend and it was because I wanted to make Korean pancake at home.
で、先日やっとこさ作ってみました
And I finally made it the other day.
ユナイテッドヌードルでチヂミの粉を買いました。
I acutally got this pancake mix at United Noodles.
You Tubeを検索して、こちらの動画を参考にさせてもらいました。
I researched some recipe videos on You Tube and liked this one.
で、Hit-chan、何となく「チヂミはチヂミの粉を買わないと！」と思っていたんですが、この動画では小麦粉と片栗粉で作ってらっしゃって、「あ、買わんで良かったか～。」と買ってから学びました。(笑)
I don't know why but I was obsessed with the thought, "I gotta get a Korean pancake mix.", but the video said that you could make it from flour and potato starch. So, I learned that I didn't have to buy the pancake mix AFTER I bought it. LOL
とりあえず、今回は海鮮チヂミです。
Anyways, I made seafood Korean pancake for my first try.
野菜は玉ねぎ、にんじん、ネギです。
I used onion, carrot and green onion.
動画の通り、シーフードミックスに下味を付けて。。。
Just as the video, I seasoned the seafood.
粉と水と一緒に混ぜて。。。
I mixed the pancake mix and water.
焼きます。動画によれば、焼きがかなり重要だそうです。動画で玉子も入れていらっしゃったので、Hit-chanもその通りにしましたが、無い方が好きかな。
Then, I fried. What the video said is that this frying process is most important. This recipe used an egg, and I followed it but liked it better without it.
無事、ひっくり返して完成。
I finely flipped it over, and it's done!
タレも動画では基本の砂糖、醤油、酢にいくつか薬味を足していらっしゃいましたが、Hit-chanはシンプルにすし酢、醤油、七味にして十分に良かったです。
The dipping sauce was also in the video too. The main 3 ingredients are sugar, soy sauce and videgar. (The ratio is 1:1:1) I just mixed sushi vinegar, soy sauce and Japanese 7spices and really liked it.
初めて作ったんですが、味は美味しかったです！
It was my first try, but the flavor was very good.
食感の方は野菜多めの粉少なめ＆玉子ありだったので少し柔らかくなってしまいましたが、次作る時は少し粉を多めにして玉子なしにしてやってみたいと思います。
Though, the texture was a little bit on the soft side since I made it with lots of veggie, less pancake mix and an egg. So, I'll try it with more pancake mix and without an egg next time.
という訳で、トレジョでの買い物と初のチヂミ作りでした！！！
