This is the vol.10 of May-chan's 1st Japan trip diaries.
さて、母が事前に調べてくれたお陰で無事日本で公園デビューをした数日後、Hit-chanがタコスに日本で家族に振舞いたかった料理を作りました。
So, some days after May-chan had a fun time at a park in Japan for the first time thanks to my mom's research, I had a chance to cook for my family in Japan again after the Tacos party.

たこ焼き～！！！
Takoyaki!!!
実家に住んでいた頃はよく料理をしており、自分が食べたいが為にたこ焼きも作っていました。
When I still lived with my parents in Japan, I cooked more often for my family and of course, made Takoyaki some times too. Just because I wanted to eat them though.
ミネソタに来てからもたまに大量に作って楽しんでいるんですが、帰国が決まった時に、「あ、そうや。久しぶりに皆にたこ焼きを作って振舞おう！」と思ったんです。
Even after I moved to MN, I sometimes make a lot of Takoyaki at once and freeze them so that I can enjoy them anytime. So, when I decided to go to Japan this time, I though, "Oh, why do I take this great chance and make some Takoyaki for my family??"
が、話に聞くと実家ではたこ焼きをする事は全く無くなり、タコ焼きプレートも処分したらしいです。
Though, my family hasn't made Takoyaki at home at all since I left and they even discarded the Takoyaki plate that they had.
なので、速攻楽天で安い2,000円のたこ焼き器を購入しました。(笑)
Oh well, so my plan to cook Takoyaki for my family started to buy a new Takoyaki plate, and I bought a cheap one ($20) online.

This is the one that I bought.
Hit-chan、いつもたこ焼きを作る時は2日掛かりで、焼く前日に材料を切り、生地を仕込んでおきます。
I usually take 2 days to make Takoyaki and prep the batter and chop all the ingredents on the 1st day.
で、焼く当日、めいがいるのでリビングで作るのは無理だと判断して、キッチンのガスレンジの上にたこ焼き器を置いて焼く事にしました。
On the 2nd day, all I need to do is cooking on the grill plate. Though, I concluded that it's impossible to use the grill plate on the low table in the living room since May-chan would come and attack it. So, I set the grill on the stove in the kitchen.
じゃじゃーん！妹2のスカッチが焼いてくれてます。
Ta-da! My sister2, Skatch, is grilling them for me.
実家にいた頃もミネソタでもたこ焼きを作る時はHit-chanが焼いていたんですが、今回はめいがいたのもあって、妹ツインズのスイッチ＆スカッチが順番で焼いてくれました。（感謝！）
When I lived at my parents' house, I was in charge of the grilling part when I made Takoyaki, but my twins took the part for me because I had to keep my eye on May-chan at the time.
2,000円で買ったたこ焼き器、温度調整ができないので焼くのに時間がかかりましたが、十分仕事をしてくれました。
（ただ、このたこ焼き器を実家に放置してきたんで、その後どうなったのか不明です。Hit-chanがいなかったら誰もたこ焼きなんて作らないやろうなぁ。笑）
This $20 Takoyaki grill was doable, but we couldn't adjust the temperature at all and had to wait quite a bit for them to fully get cooked.
(I actually left this grill at my parents' house and don't know waht my family wanted to do with it after. I assume that nobody would make Takoyaki without me. Haha)

あんまり美味しく見えない写真かもしれませんが、めちゃくちゃ美味しかったです。
In the picture, they don't look so delicious as they actually were, but again, they were just so good!
妹ツインズに加えて、父や妹2のスカッチの彼氏さんも食べてくれて、「美味しい！」と言ってくれたので嬉しかったです。
Besides my twin sisters, my dad and N-san(my sister2, Skatch's boyfriend) joined the Takoyaki party and said "Delisiou!" too.
数日前から、「この日にたこ焼きするよ～！」と言っていたので、父なんか「たこ焼きと言えばこれでしょ？」と、ちょっと上等な鰹節を買ってきてくれて、それをかけて食べるとより美味しかったです。
I actually had announced everybody that I was going to make Takoyaki on the day from a couple days before like, "I'm gonna make Takoyaki on this day!" So, my dad got a package of bonito freak and said, "You can't pass this with Takoyaki!" and that's true. My Takoyaki turned out to be better with the bonito freak.
それなのに、食べる前は「え～、別に鰹節はいつもかけへんし、どっちでも良いわ～。」と言ってしまって、ちょっと申し訳なかったです。（ごめん、お父さん！）
To be honest with you, I usually don't put bonito freak on Takoyaki and first told my dad, "Bonito freak? I don't care about it so much. Either way is fine." at the time. So, I felt bad a little bit for saying such dry words to him. (Sorry, dad!)
兎にも角にも、家族の皆に久しぶりに特製たこ焼きを振る舞う事ができ、皆でワイワイ言いながら食べる事ができたのが本当に嬉しかったです。
Anyways, I was super happy that I could make my plan happen and everybody enjoyed my Takoyaki and the fun time together.
