23 ひとり帰国日記/兄家族と王将 (Japan Trip Alone 2024 vol.23/A Dinner With My Brother's Family)

皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？
How's everything going in your life? 

 

 

 

夏休みに入り、もう約1ヶ月が経とうとしておりますが、やはり今年もサマーキャンプなどに入れずにめいとみっちり毎日過ごしているので、中々体力的にも疲れが見え始めております。
My life has been extra busy since May-chan's summer break started. We didn't register any summer camps for her this summer as well as last year, so I'm now starting get exhausted after about a month.

 

 

 

何が大変って、やっぱりめいも5歳になって、「はい、はい。」という事を聞いてくれなくなっているので、Hit-chanの雷が落ちる事がしばしば。(笑)
What's made my life more challenging is that our lovely daughter, May-chan, is now 5 years old and more insurbordinate. She doesn't listen to me very often, and makes me mad a lot. 

 

 

さて、今日もひとり帰国日記の続きでございます。
Anyways, here's another article of my Japan trip. 

 

 

 

長々と続いているこの帰国日記、ようやく後半戦に入り、終わりが見えてまいりました。
I've been writing this series forever, but finally reached the last part. 

 

 

 

前回の記事、父の誕生日ディナーの翌日、Hit-chanの兄家族と久しぶりの再会を果たしました。
On the last article, I wrote about my dad's birthday and this is about the next day. We had dinner with my brother's family. 

 

 

15 日本帰国 2022/兄家族訪問 (15 Japan Trip 2022/Visited my Brother's Family) - Hit-Chanのワクワクしてるよ！(Hit-Chan's WakuWaku Life!)

兄家族はこのブログにも何度か登場しています。
They've appeared on this blog some times in the past. 

 

 

 

今回、Hit-chanがひとりで帰国していると連絡をしたら、夕食を一緒に食べようという事になり、我が家から行きやすいレストランの2つ挙げた所、兄夫婦の娘、ふうちゃんが「王将が良い。」との事で、この日は中華に決定。
（Hit-chan、この帰国でまだ王将に行ってなかったのでちょうど良かったです。）
During my stay, we set up a day for eating out together with my brother's family and I asked them where they would want to eat. There were 2 options for restaurants near my parents' house and my niece, Fu-chan, picked this popular Chinese chain restaurant. 
(The Chinese restaurant was actually on my list for this trip, so it was a perfect choice for me.) 

 

 

 

実家から歩いていける距離にある王将へ、妹スカッチと一緒に移動。母と父は電動自転車で。
It's walkable distance from my parents' condo, so my sister, Skutch, and I walked there. My parents got there by their electric bikes. 

 

 

予約を取っておこうと思って、その旨兄にも言っておいたのですが、使おうと思っていたオンライン予約サービスが使えなくて、結局取れずじまい。
I was going to make a reservation for the special family dinner online and had told that to my brother, but the online service was not available.  

 

 

Hit-chanから兄への「予約が取れていない。」という連絡が遅れてしまい、伝えた時には、既に兄が店頭で「予約している〇〇です。」と伝えて、店員さんが「？？」となった後。(笑)　Hit-chanのせいで、気まずいシチュエーションを生んでしまった申し訳なかったです。
Before I told my brother that I couldn't get a reservation, they already got to the restaurant and told a staff that they had a reservation. "I have a reservation under XX" he said at the front and "???" the staff reacted. I felt very sorry for them to cause such an awkward situation. LOL 

 

 

兄家族と久しぶりに再会。皆元気そうで良かった。
Anyways, reunion with my brother's family! They all looked doing well.

もちろん、王道の餃子は注文。
Needless to say, we ordered their famous pot stickers.

妹スカッチ一押しの皿うどん。
My sister, Skutch's most favorite, Crispy noodles. 

 

 

兄家族は油淋鶏なども頼んでおりました。
My brother's family ordered Yu Lin Chi (Chinese style fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce). 

 

 

 

兄夫婦の娘、ふうちゃんは小学2年生かな？、我が家のめいとも年が近いので、めいと一緒に帰国する際にはできるだけふうちゃんとめいのいとこ時間を取るようにしていますが、今回はHit-chan一人での帰国。
My niece, Fu-chan, is in the 2nd grade? and in a close age to May-chan, so every time I return to Japan with May-chan, I try to make as much couisn time as possible. Unfortunately, this trip was by myself. 

 

 

 

てっきりめいが来ていると思っていたふうちゃん、Hit-chan一人だと知ってガッカリしておりました。（すまんのー。）
Fu-chan had thought that May-chan was at the dinner and was looking forward to a cousin reunion, so she was a little bit disappointed that I was alone. (Sorry!) 

 

 

 

やはり、頻繁に会う事のない親戚のおばちゃん達に囲まれて、ふうちゃん、少し緊張気味でしたが、それでも受け答えはしっかりしてくれて可愛かった～。
Fu-chan was a liite bit shy around us because we didn't see each other often, but she still tried hard to answer our random questions, which was super cute.  

 

 

そしてこの日、お誕生日が近かったので、父、スカッチ、Hit-chanからプレゼントを渡しました。
Her birthday was coming in about a week, so my dad, Skutch and I joined to get her a present. 

 

 

パパとママに似て、お絵描きが好きで上手なふうちゃんの為に。。。
Fu-chan's such a good artist as well as her parents, so we got...

 

 

少し上等なマーカーセットを渡しました。
a set of fancy markers. 

 

 

このマーカーセット、漫画家さんが愛用しているブランドのビギナーセットらしいのですが、絵を描かないHit-chanは全く知らず、妹スカッチに教えてもらいました。ふうちゃんにはビギナーセットをプレセントしました。
I hadn't known the brand, but my sister, Skutch, taught me that they're very loved and popular among Japanese manga artists, and we got Fu-chan a beginner's set. 

 

 

 

ですが、ふうちゃんもふうちゃんのママもマーカーを見た瞬間に、「これ、めっちゃ良いやつやん！！」と、その価値をすぐに見抜いてくれて、「おー、やっぱり分かる人には分かるんやー。」と嬉しかったです。
Thankfully, both Fu-chan and her mom,K-chan, recognized the brand in a moment and "Wow, this is such nice and fancy ones!!" said K-chan.  "Oh, the brand's really famous!!" I was very happy to see their reaction.

 

 

2年振りにふうちゃんに会って、「あー、めいに会わせたかったなぁ。」と強く思いました。
Seeing Fu-chan for the first time in the last 2 years made me strongly feel, "I wish May-chan were here!!".  

 

 

 

久しぶりに会った兄夫婦も元気そうで、やっぱり実際に会って見るとより安心するなぁと感じた夜でした。
It was really nice to see my brother and his wife doing well in person too. 

 

 

 

外食だと中々話す時間がないので、まためいやAndyっちと帰る時にはもっとゆっくりじっくり話せる機会を作りたいと思います。
Hanging out at the restaurant didn't give us enough time to sit and talk to keep us fully updated, so I hope that I'll make a day to hang out with them whenevery I return to Japan with May-chan and ANdy next.  

 

 

 

また一緒に遊ぼうね～！
