How are you doing today?
先週と今週にかけて、我が家の前の道が絶賛工事中で、ちょいと不便でございます。
From last week, they are doing a road construction right in front of our house which is kind of inconvenience.
我が家の郵便ポストも抜かれております。交通も制限されていて、郵便も2日くらい届かなかったよ。
They pulled out our mail box too. Also, the traffic has been slightly restricted and I think we haven't got mail for a few days.
縁石を作って、その後新たなアスファルトを敷いてくれるみたいです。
They're making curb and newly installing asphalt too.
で、工事中、自分家のドライブウェイも使えないので、すぐ近くの道に路上駐車しています。（工事中は路駐OKになってます。）
During the constraction, we even can't use our driveway and park our cars on a different street close by. (We're allowed to park on the street during the construction.)
予定では、これを書いている今日、月曜日に我が家のドライブウェイも元通り使えるようになるそうですが、工事が順調に進んでいるのかどうかは不明です。
As the original schedule, they said that our driveway would be usable today, Monday. Though, I'm not sure if everything is going as planned or not.
さて、先日、ミネソタで仲良くさせてもらっている数少ない日本人のお友達、新米ミネソタンんさんとデートしてきました。
So today, I want to write about the date with my Japanese friend the other day.
今回もデート場所は新米ミネソタンさんに提案してもらい、行ってきたのはこちら。
I always ask her to give me some options for the date location and this time as well.

We went to General Store Minnetonka.
このお店はこんな感じで、大きなお土産屋さんとカフェが併設されています。（画像拝借元）
This store has a big gift shop area and a cafe.
本当に色々なグッズがあって、ミネソタ土産を探すのには持ってこいな場所です。（画像拝借元）
They have tons of stuff at the gift shop and I think it's a perfect place to find a Minnesota related souvenior too.
平日のお昼前、11時半くらいにカフェの方に入ったんですが、もう既にほぼ満席。めちゃくちゃ人気のお店です。
It was Thursday morning, around 11:30am, but the cafe was almost packed. Yeah, they're super popular.
このカフェではカウンターで注文していく方式でした。
At this cafe, we order at the counter.
Hit-chanはカフェインフリーコーヒーと、3種類のサラダが選べたサラダサンプラー、そしてこのカフェ名物のパン？シュークリームの生地のような食感です。
I got a cup of decaf coffee and a salad sampler whcih you can choose 3 kinds of salad. Besides that, I also got this bread which is like cream puff's puff.
新米ミネソタンさんは同じく名物パンとチキンスープ。
My friend got a bowl of chicken soup and the puff bread.
このシュー生地のパン、カメラケースと比べて分かるように、結構でかいです。
The puff bread is actually so big. Can you see the size compared to my camera case?
この日もいつもと同じく、ミネソタでの子育ての先輩、新米ミネソタンさんから色々とお話を聞かせてもらいました。
As usual, I heard a lot of useful information about rasing kids in MN from my friend.
何よりも、話す内容は大した事なくても、日本語で色々話せる時間は有難く、あんまり脳みそを使わなくて良いので本当に楽です。
Even if we talk about casual tops, we talk in Japanese, so I don't have to make my brain work so much which is super easy to me.
この日も一杯お話させてもらい、とっても良い気晴らしになりました。
On that day, we chatted a lot and it was very refreshing to me.
そうそう、この日もまた新米ミネソタンさんから、色々いただいてしまいました。（笑）
Oh yeah, she always gives me nice things and on that day, she gave me a cute baby cloth and some other nice things again! Haha.
新米ミネソタンさん、いつもありがとうございます！！また、時間があればランチしましょうね！！
Thank you for always hanging out with me and giving me lots of presents! I hope we can have a lunch togehter sometime soon!
