さて、今回の日本旅行、あまりにも美味しい物、楽しい事が多すぎて、本来の目的を忘れがちになっておりますが、今回の来日の目的は体外受精です。
So, Andy and I tend to forget the main purpose of this big Japan trip which is IVF since everything has been just so delicious and fun here, but yeah, we're here for IVF treatment. Haha.
1月18日の夜に日本に入りましたが、お世話になるクリニックでの予約は1月20日でした。
We landed in Japan on the 18th of January and we had the first appointment with the clinic here on the 20th.
初日なので、もちろんAndyっちも一緒に行きました。
It's our very first visit, so Andy came with me too.
ちなみに、病院は阪急沿線なので、阪急電車に乗って。。。
It's on Hankyu rail line, so we took the train.
病院に着いてまずびっくりしたのが、患者さんの多さ。
The first thing surprised me at the clinic was how busy they were.
結構大きな駐車場があったんですが、それでも足りずに道には何台も駐車場所を待っている車が一杯でした。
They actually had a desent size of parking lot by the building, but there were still some cars waiting for a parking spot on the road.
で、初診の内容ですが、軽くエコーで卵巣や子宮内膜の様子を診ていただいて問題なし。
My doctor quickly checked my ovaries and endometrium with ultrasound and he found nothing wrong.
その後は体外受精の詳しい内容、費用について培養士さんから説明を受けました。
After that, we had a meeting with one of the engineers who actually do the process of the conception.
説明をしてくださった培養士さんは、事前にHit-chanがメールで色々質問していた時に対応してくださった方で、初対面とは思えず、すっごく嬉しかったです。
She's actually the one who I was talking a lot via email in MN and she's so nice and kind. I even didn't feel like that was the first meeting with her.
で、具体的な体外受精の内容ですが、本当にこればっかりはやってみないと分からないという感じでした。
So, to make it short, IVF itself is mostly like gamble.
採れる卵の数、育つ卵の数、冷凍する卵の数、冷凍するタイミング、移植するタイミング。。。。
You just have some different options to bet your luck on. For the betting, you also have to consider these things like the number of available eggs, the number of well-grown eggs, the number of eggs and the timing you want o freeze them and the number of eggs and the timing to transplant them...
で、それに伴う費用。。。
Plus everything above, you have to think about the costs as well.
一気に説明を聞いたんですが、情報量が多すぎて、Hit-chanの脳みそ、パンクしそうでした。(笑)
Oh well, I heard all the explanation at once and that made my brain almost dead.
そうそう、この日、Hit-chanとAndyっち、共に血液検査を受けたのですが、試しに「血液型も調べてもらえますか？」と聞いてみたら、「大丈夫です！」との事でした。
By the way, both Andy and I took a blood test that day and I wondered and asked them if they could see what Andy's blood type was. Then, they said "Yes!"
というのも、Andyっちの血液型、今まで調べた事なかったんで知らないんです。
It's a part of American culture, but Andy doesn't know his blood type!
なので、血液型占いとかあっても全く分からん状態でした。
So, even if I want to do charactor analysis by blood types, (Yeah, it's Japanesy, I guess.) I couldn't know Andy's result!
まだ結果は出ていませんが、何だか楽しみでございます。
Anyways, we haven't got the result of his blood type yet, but I'm so looking forward to knowing it.
そうそう、支払いの時に対応してくださった受付の方も、今回事前に予約対応をしてくださった方で、本当に親切に対応してくださった方と直接お会いできて嬉しかったです。
Oh one more, the receptionist lady at the clinic was also someone who took care of making appointment or other things via email with me and she's super nice too. I'm so glad that I could finally meet her in person too!
という訳で、まだまだ治療は始まっておりませんが、順調なスタートを切れたと思います。
Okay, the treatment hasn't started yet, but the first visit went pretty good.
